No dude people weren't overreacting. These are 20 year old games. If it was a brand new battlefront sure an argument could be made that thats just how modern releases are. But when they're this old and they're releasing with textures missing, sound effect glitches bursting people's ears and the netcode being worse than the versions already available and playable online the reaction is completely justified.
The online reaction is 1000% justified. The fact that the single player is missing content as well is enough reason for fans to be upset!

They killed the game before it even started. Even if it worked 100%, without issues on day one, it still would have died. The lack of cross-compatibility and regional locking alone would’ve killed it.

From what I understand they're going from most game breaking to the minor ones so it'll get fixed but probably won't be in the initial patch though then again they might just release one Mega patch so fingers crossed but they are taking note of every bug brought to their attention and adding it to the list to fix so it seems they're genuinely trying

Saying that people over-reacted is a little disingenuous. They paid $35 for a game that objectively didn't function at launch. The reaction was 100% warranted.
After seeing your video I turned on my ps5 and tried to get into a match. I'm in Germany right now and for BF2 there is like a 2 minute wait only for getting to the server list only to find absolutely nothing. I refreshed it 2-3 times, then the game froze and hat to force close it. Then went to BF1 where the exact same thing happened, waited almost 2 minutes to find 0 available multiplayer games. Money well spent
I'm a german native, don't own these games but can assure you one thing. Germany has one of the worst Internet Connections so when you try to play online, use a Lan adapter because WLan is horrible and probably makes things worse.
I‘m living in germany and I‘m playing the online mode since release day. Meanwhile There are lots of servers with at least 40 players, it is easy to find a game and most of the time, the rounds are running without issues. Playing on ps5 btw.

I'm on PS5, the servers are better now 😊 but I feel like the Hitboxs still need some work. They add more tickets to conquest too😊

Honestly the issue also stems from the original games. Try playing the original games online without a LAN connection, it just isn't very fluid. It would be better if someone built a new battlefront from the ground up and modelled the gameplay like the classics but optimized the network functionalities. That would be a perfect battlefront game.
Yeah the hitboxes are terrible you clearly can see that you are hitting the enemy but without any results. I only noticed that the technical don’t have the same problem .
The glass shattering when the Snowspeeder crash, that broke me jajajajajajaja.
It's not lag there is 2-5 seconds of invincibility when you spawn, so when your Luke was chopping at their Walkers feet that had that going. It also takes 2-3 swings to kill a unit with a light saber.
They still need to add back invert Y axis for those players, some of my friends play that way and it was an option 20 years ago.
You can invert them in the BF2 side of things bc rebinding the buttons on the controller I selected the obi wan preset and changed the weapons to the triggers since they were on the bumpers for starships for some reason
I tried setting up the controller at console level to invert the vertical Y-axis but it didn’t work on BF1. Didn’t try it on BF2. I wasn’t successful but you’re saying it’s possible only in BF2?

@@ScottMcMahonyeah, select the anakin preset in the control options and that one will invert the controls by default, from there you can set it up as you like.
You can disable their auto turrets by blowing up that center console by all the turret seats in the enemy ship.
Not gonna lie I've stayed up till 4am two nights in a row playing galactic conquest 😅
Just a few hours ago I was playing the OG battlefront in this collection and it was running beautifully online, so yeah, it seems to be getting better, but I did still encounter just one instance of lag when like 5 recon droids used orbital strikes at the same time, that caused mad lag but I'm not mad since it probably happens in the original as well.
That even happened with just 1 of them in singleplayer or coop from what i can remember from back in the ps2 days

Space absolutely LOOKS BEAUTIFUL in this re-release. So does Coruscant, Hoth, Naboo, Mustafar, Felucia, basically EVERY map looks beautiful and crisp. I’m having SO MUCH fun with this game again! I went to the Rebellion side in Galactic Conquest! Did the Confederate Uprising and The Empire Sovereignty before I joined the Rebels!
Btw if anyone's wondering, the BF2 remake has populated servers right now because of this disastrous launch.

It’s just facts. It’s a 20 year old series that was just a re release. No big upgrades at all. And they released it in the worst state I’ve seen in a long time. Crashes when trying to look up specific searches. Lags every match. Targeting system is non existent. It’s unacceptable. It’s not overreacting when you spend money for a game that’s supposed to actually work.
PC. bf1 seems to be fine when enough ppl are on. bf2 there was no one on to even test it. sometime around midnight last night

Yeah and all of them have heroes turned off, and the game doesn't render in the native resolution of newer monitors. The new version looks WAY better in comparison, and you can actually get into a lobby with heroes.

I still have serious jank when I play as a droideka or a hero online, and there's still issues with not seeing the same servers as my friends, but for the most part the major issues seem to have been ironed out which is nice
You and the 5 other players left in the game are finally gonna enjoy yourselves

The game has so much problems with connectivity and game breaking bugs and missing content like the campaign cutscenes
They're overreacting because people exaggerate things when something doesn't go their way. The only thing that wasn't that exaggerated was the missing content which is absolutely justified.
The argument he's trying to make here is yes, the game came out in a very poor state and shouldn't have been released in said state, however there is a lot more that goes into things like this than just grabbing the old game and placing it in market for all platforms. There's optimization you have to do to make it compatible for modern consoles, they retextured pretty much everything and added lighting even. They put all DLC characters and maps into the game and had to retexture and optimize everything for that too. Oh and let's not forget the 64 player thing as well. That takes a lot of effort to make work for an old game with an old engine and code and you have to make it work for ALL platforms across the board and make it work with the upgraded textures and optimization.
I'm not saying that the game didn't have a disappointing release...but let's not have the typical gamer ignorance they always have that literally makes us look like glorified high school girls who make anything that is slightly inconvenient into a drama and realize that sometimes things go wrong and you should have the patience and understanding to find out what went wrong and get the full story first before jumping into the hate train.
If we want more older games to be ported over and be re-released for modern consoles we gotta stop scaring potential people willing to take such tasks by making such ignorant statements like "This is the worst launch in history" and then wonder why older games aren't being ported.

Since this game is old they need to make this game free so everyone can play including myself, this was one of my favorite (Star Wars) childhood games
I was so close to pre ordering this, I haven’t pre ordered a game in probably 6+ years purely because of how unfinished games can be these days. I figured this would be finished as it was released 20 years ago, and in no way could they possibly mess it up. Safe to say I’m so glad I didn’t pre order, I will buy it one day but definitely gonna wait for patches to start coming out first.

I'm a big star wars fan, everything about is awesome but I only own a switch so you could imagine my excitement when battlefront was getting released on the switch, when finding out it would have a broken start pretty much crushed me, I really hope they get this game together, just keep praying
The only major issues I’ve had on PS occurred day one, and everything was seemingly fixed pretty quickly after. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed playing multiplayer this week, and hope that people continue playing, but because of the early disappointment and lack of cross play, it unlikely won’t last…

I really hope they turn this around, I really want this to be great, I've had a bunch of bugs and glitches on ps5 single player. They need to add the option to invert flight. And I'm kinda upset that the ai can't use heroes. And I mean cross-play would be great.
The day it came out I literally couldnt play it (Switch) but after that ive been able to play matches somewhere smoothly. Granted I can tell everything isnt 100% just yet, still bugs to work out- but, MY experience has been crazy different compared to everyone elses ive seen. Also on Switch it was like a 33.7GB download just to throw that info out there.
These download files are so weird on PlayStation it’s 50 on pc it’s 60 and on switch is 30 wtf is aspyr doing lmaooo

Not so much with them finishing fast since they increased ticket count but the other two are real big issues

Do you know if there are any issues with playing and inviting friends? I tried to play on Xbox with my cousin in a different server region and it was impossible. Couldn't invite him or find his servers and vice versa.
I'm having the same issue with my friend, as stupid as it is I'm pretty sure you can't play with people in different regions.

If it had cross play then there would not be much of a problem finding servers with players. I got on Battlefront 2 this morning on Switch at about 9:30 and there was like only a single server with 17 players.

No there is isn't but that doesn't mean you can't add your friends from America on the psn servers and invite them that way or host your own lobby...I just did it with a few buddies of mine and we were able to play together. Just as long as you have them as your friend on PSN you'll be able to host a lobby and play with them or against them. However you set up your lobby is how your game play is gonna be.
My friends and I had an interesting issue, where we'd make a server but couldn't find it. I discovered if I left the server browser and went all the way back to the main menu, then went back into the browser, I'd get a totally new slew of games in progress. And after three attempts of that, we were able to finally connect to his server and play together. But invites wouldn't even work until we found his specific game via this weird 'back out then go back in' thing.
@CyanSpartan3388 exactly that's what my friend and I had trouble with last night for a test run for hosting a server. But all he had to do was to refresh the server list and then he was able to find my test server and he was able to join up with me and play.
I played a little of the battlefront 1 multiplayer on Xbox it worked okay

It's definitely a bit harder to get a game working properly on pc, as when making games for a console, you know the specs that you have to reach you know what the hardware is that people have because everybody has the same specs, but with PC you don't know what everybody has so you really need to work hard to make sure that everything works on basically everything LOL
I don’t want to speak to soon but there may yet be some light at the end of the tunnel.

I'm glad the online seems to be working better, but aspyr still have problems to fix. The install size is still 60 GB, the servers are still not crossplay and region locked, and there are various bugs not in the originals that need fixing, some of which are even in this video.
If this was patched now then the patch for PC is tomorrow.

I have the feeling that this game hasn't been configured correctly for every platform, but rather it plays on the same platform, which is why my PS5 keeps crashing, which happens sometimes, but this game brings my PS5 to a complete standstill. I was only able to use my console after 10 minutes I also have the feeling that if I continue playing it will destroy my PS5

I have this on PC, PS5 and Switch. PC version definitely has the most issues of the 3, but even with that, I have had a great time! Started playing again this morning and even hosting a dedicated host along the way, too. Working great!
Seems a bit overkill to buy it for all those platforms. I could understand getting it for PC and switch but not all of them especially in the state the games currently in.

Pc stability is way better, the only issue is hit reg. With the game not being finished on launch most people refunded, the lobby’s are empty. Wish there was crossplay or they had their shit together from day 1

this is not what everyone was expecting: the multiplayer still lags still gives lots of players high ping and still has tons of bullet latency issues. This is without a doubt the worst version of this game.
The audio to omg one moment it’s great but then it quiets or out of nowhere you just get a loud blam noise that last less then a second
Battlefront 1 lobby is dead on ps and battlefront 2 has 1 lobby ranging from 20-48 players on average.
Aspyr has failed in every aspect of damage control. The message they gave out was 3 days ago now and we have yet to see any real updates.
This is the multiplayer alone with the single player that you kept claiming is what we know and love is also ruined on apart of cutscenes missing, galactic conquest being buggy on bf2, reticle issues still
Not to mention they have actually taken options away from us that we had back in 2005 with no choice to invert flying

It baffles me that the PS5 version seems to have had the most issues, from what I’ve seen switch was doing fine and I got the xbox version on launch day and saw no issues either. So yeah people were over reacting and jumping on the hate train just cause it wasn’t perfect on launch day with countless people trying to get on all at once, the only time a game launches with servers that can handle its players is when it doesn’t have players.
