I completely stopped using the UK made petcocks, and now use the cheaper Taiwan ones. Every single UK petcock I've used eventually leaks, the o-ring inside swells and no longer works. The Taiwan ones use the old-style tapered brass valve and I think they work much better.
I see a lot guys on-line turn on both petcocks when they have a two carb triumph, which isn't needed. I only have one petcock on my Bonneville currently. It has a different year wider gas tank and it's a bit crowded under there with two carbs and pancake filters. Easier to just plug the right side petcock hole. Less to deal with. If you keep an eye on your gas level, you should be okay. Knock on wood.
Good stuff 👏
Todd! Todd! Todd! Todd!
