If you are a monk, it is easier for you to be canonized. But God has many saints living normal lives. See Saint Gianna Beretta Molla or the Blessed Sandra Sabattini, Blessed Carlo Acutis,
I'm an Engineering Student in Turin and I've grown a lot in my devotion to Bl. Piergiorgio recently. Praying for his canonization! Btw, I can't believe Fr. Pine forgot to mention that Bl. Piergiorgio was a Third Order Dominican!
My parish literally has an icon of Bl. Pier Giorgio in a Byzantine style! It's gorgeous and approved to be written by his living niece, Wanda! God bless you Father and Bl. Pier Giorgio, pray for us!🙏
I have a great devotion Bl Pier Giorgio since first hearing of him over 10 years ago and pray for his Intercession every day and hope one day soon in my lifetime he will be a Saint. Love how they portray him with a Pipe!!!
Pier Georgia is on of my favorites. I love him. I always include information about him with gifts and cards for Confirmation and even first Holy Communion kids.
I went to visit blessed Pier Giorgio's house last summer! There is a path from Pollone to Oropa through Poggio Frasatti - a mountaintop where we had holy mass. Wonderful experience, I recommend visiting with a Dominican! :D
He is our fifth son's middle name ( Malachi Frassati) he was the patron of my husband and I traveling youth ministry team...a long time ago 🤣. He's been a wonderful saint for us to inspire to be more like. Thank you for sharing his story 🙏
I'm a little confused, since 'Frassati' is a family name only in italian. Is it common in the US (are you feom the US?) to use family names as middle names? I'm just asking out of curiosity. I'm german speaking, and in the german speaking countries you wouldn't be legally able to give that very name to your child. May God bless your son!
Dear Father Gregory, your summary presentation of Blessed Pier-Giorgio Frassati was excellent, but I felt that you were talking at a speed of a hundred miles an hour! Unfortunately, you forgot to mention that he was a Dominican Tertiary (a lay Dominican), a venial sin... ! I am a fan of yours in Vancouver, Canada. Please convey my warmest greetings to my great friend, Fr. Emmanuel Durand who, I believe, is your prior in Fribourg. Father Gabriel OP
This is Father's first video, I could watch all the way to the end. Usually, his hi Fi explanations throw me off and I forget what the topic of the video was.🤔 This was simple and not too much. Thank you Father and I hope we get more intellectual people ordained as priest and religious. 🙏
Fr. Gregory, thank you for this terrific podcast. I have already been exposed to Bl Pier Georgio and was taken in by the story of his life. Yes, he was a true and dedicated mountaineer. A true global patron and companion for youth and young adults. Bl Pier Giorgio ora pro nobis! 🙏👐💛🙏👐💛🙏
Thank you Fr. Pine! Another insightful and interesting video! I've read your book on Prudence, the king of all virtues and found it to be inspiring. I loved the way you broke down complicated philosophical topics and made it easy for the average consumer of catholic thought! God bless you Father. Bl. Pier Giorgio seemed like such an amazing person. Bl. Pier Giorgio, pray for us!
Thanks for this Father. I also wish you would have mentioned he was a Lay Dominican… how that may have formed him, why he chose that ect. I’m a Lay Dominican myself and hike a lot too. Mostly say my morning prayers out there, I subtly understand that maybe he was doing the same. I was recently life professed and when asked at my interview why, I really had no answer. I think it went somewhere along the lines of “I’m here, because I’m here”. It’s so hard to understand the whole Lay thing. And it would be good to learn from them who went before us. There a handful of Third Order Saints out there, at least. But little to nothing is ever mentioned, about how that “Lay” state within the order helped them become whom they were meant to become. I suppose the crumbs underneath the table are enough. Have an awesomely fruitful rest of your week Father!
I (being a poorly educated in geography US citizen) was having a panic attack because I didn't understand how you toured Turin from Switzerland. I thought Switzerland was a Nordic country.
i often feel like to be a great saint you need to be a consecrated monk so hearing stories like this are very important and inspiring

My son goes to Frassati Catholic Academy. I had never heard of him prior to that but I'm so glad I know of him now. He's such an inspiration ❤

My sister and I are big fans of you, dear father. So glad that you ARE, as we used to say in the Polish Oasis circles.
Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati pls pray for me and act through me especially when i need it the most. Amen.

A really unique and lovable saint . He was particularly special
Thanks so much Father, for introducing me to this man of holiness. Praying for you.
Thank you for sharing Fr. its fascinating to hear the faith, simplicty and life of inspirational people 😊

This made my Sunday. Thank you, Fr. Gregory Pine.

Love your sharing. It is wonderful to hear about normal individuals who exceed the life they are born into for the glory of God.
He's my confirmation patron!
Beautiful. Thank you,
Thank you soo much for this amazing opportunity to get familiar with The Blessed Pior Georgia.
May god continue to bless you in all your efforts. ❤
I love Blessed Pier Giorgio!
Thank you, Father Pine.
Thank you Father God bless you 🙏🕊🌹🕯❤️
Welcome back Fr Pine. Did not see you last week but been listening to Catholic Classics in your absence here at PWA. 🙂
I like Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati. People need to read about Blessed Teresita Quevedo.
I love Teresita! Especially her “code of amiability”!
@@laurak751 I'll have to research that.

Fr Pine: “Cool Saint you’ve never heard of”
Every millennial hipster Catholic ever: “AM I A JOKE TO YOU”???

We have a seminary house in Riverside, CA at St. Frances de Sales house named after Blessed Pier-Giorgio Frasati 😌
Glory and glory abundant

Good video, thanks and God bless you
Caterwauling 😂. LOL. God bless. Blessed Giorgio, pray for me 🙏

so cool!!
thank you!
Turin is such a beautiful city
I am learning 😊
The Catholic student club at my university's patron is Bl. Pier!
I'll treat myself with a replay of that face at 0:42 ayyyy ☺️
What was his 1st miracle? I need a miracle to pass my licensing exams. 2 of them. Not 24. Poor guy :/
It's been announced recently than Piergiorgio Frassati will be canonized in 2025 🙏
"Verso l'alto!"
Amen.
I (being a poorly educated in geography US citizen) was having a panic attack because I didn't understand how you toured Turin from Switzerland. I thought Switzerland was a Nordic country.
No, it has a border with Italy, France also, and some other countries, Germany I think, have to check a map. Beautiful country.
I think you might have gotten Sweden and Switzerland confused
We Italians do see Swiss as Nordic people, that little I can confirm :P
Just because you are an American doesn’t mean your poorly editing geography…you might be…not all of us
Proud to say I have
If Fr. Pine OP mentioned it i might have missed it: Frassati was a lay Dominican.
❤
Fr Gregory, I'd love to punish some beers with you.
I don't know if this is just me but, please improve the audio in such videos. My volume is max but it is hard to understand anything.
Just you
I’m good on my side.
Are you a student of Fr. Bernhard?
✝️🇺🇸✝️
So he grew in holiness becoming a Saint by living a normal life to the fullest?
Witness!
⚒️🇺🇸⚒️
Nobody who is canonized or blessed has lived a normal life. It is a lie to say that thy did. It’s a false promise.
