  • What happens when a couple city slickers buy a remote piece of property and set about the slow process of cleaning it up and then start to renovate the structures? They learn the history of the place and all the stories attached to it and the hear all about the quirky folks who once lived there!

Jim Marshall is still there, he’s been waiting for them to come save his property. Without a doubt he’s living through them. COSMIC !

Loved hearing Asha’s story about the property and Jim. I wanted to know what they planned to do.

think I'm going to get started. First, let me say I am Les Thompson from the UK. & I was born in Grid in 1952. that makes me one of the early pioneers in off-grid living. That is not at your standards, I have been watching Gridlessness. & there new wood gasification build. I had such a device in 1962 inherited from my father. the reality was back in the day the old type of gas-generators made a lot of damp smock. Especially in very cold weather. a tendency to condense the steam as a result of the cold. & looking at the one they were running IT had not changed a great deal . So before I move on, You may at some time consider Buy-in Or building one of your own. So it is time to tell you the secret of a successful Wood gas generator. well, Yes believe it or not it is. The damp smock. That Mack the wood gas generator one of the finest gas generators in the world yet developed the one Gridlessness presently built is best suited to the modification I am about to reveal to you. should you decide to go down that route?
OK let me first tell you something about Myself. you may ask why haven't we heard of this till now. well in my day there were no Internet communications we did not have conversations.
& pioneers like myself often suffered with Dyslexia Without the tools to read or write could not get our messages out. So to the secret of good wood gasification. In 1962 we in the UK Suffered a very cold & long winter. In my attempts to get our gas generator to full production, I set about A set OF experiments WE can often see on the Net-TO Day But often we see they Are not explained. Still secretly guarded, Yes it is the water in the wood that provides the real power to the system But the vital link as I would say been diligently left off the design drawings & is a must if the gas generator is to achieve a successful production.
OK It's the Charcoal colon that is so offer not built into its Designs, yes I discovered in my experiments that the gas generator produces a lot of charcoal. at the end of every barn, system but far more than what was needed to power it up for the next batch. so I took some of this charcoal & put it in a colom lit it at the bottom & began to feed the damp smock into the sucking it up the colom damp smock within bernt of the oxygen within it & produced good hydrogen at It's flair & ran the power pack excellently well indeed.
OK, you do not believe me. So check it out for yourself. get some charcoal Brack it up into 1" pieces & put it into a 4" pipe with a valve & inlet pipe into the centre of the pipe. so you can suck the smock out into a flair-lit bottom & the deep blue flame you will see If It lights Is carbon monoxide. make sure you do not breathe, in a confined space is not recommended, to have plenty of ventilation at this stage. Now watch the blue flame change couloir as we drip water into the intake you will see it change to a crimson, as the oxygen in the stem is burnt off & hydrogen is pulled into the column. the rich hydrogen & hydrocarbons in the gas are the best gas possible to power gen sets.
this experiment is best done at night the blue flame sometimes can't be seen if you Bern, one's hand. At night you can see Its brilliance, Now damp gas is a by-product of the wood gas generator.
it by-product when pulled into a charcoal colom gives the wood gas generator its real powerhouse. so in closing, I hope you got to hear & you understand what I am telling you to remember wood is carbon neutral what you perdus is reabsorbed into the green forest & return to make more wood in the UK we Coppices, our woodland to produce this green wet wood. for gen-sets with caracole colom added. [ hop, this helps Les England. PS thank god for the computer. You would not have been told this secret without it. Don't take my word for it Check out your self.

As far as I know the mill needed a little work before getting it running again. It was used to cut various logs.

There was a Jimmy Marshall, who was from Edmonto Alta, spent time in the RCASC, then when he got out went to northern B.C., said was going to homrstead and make himself rich. We never heard from hi again, so I am wondering if this is the same Jim Marshall ?
