    Oil Filter Friday,
    Watch a new automotive oil filter inspection video every Friday on this channel.
    UPDATED!!!!! 9-11-21
    After only 3 months of use.The Cardone Power Steering Module/Motor that I installed just died on me. This time I ordered an ACDELCO Motor, (a little more expensive) hopefully this one will last, RockAuto is giving me store credit for the Cardone which will go towards the ACDELCO Motor. 6-9-20 Well I put in the New ACDelco motor and still didn't work turned out the fuse connections were dirty fuse #43 under the hood. i.imgur.com/o743qQN.jpg I'll post updates on how well it holds up. 9-11-21 still working Here's a link to the New Motor. Have a 2007 saturn ion I purchased used in 2009. Since then I have had 5 power steering motors replaced - going on #6. The first 4 were under recall so I didn't have to pay. #5 I had to pay $350 approximately because recall is no longer valid. That was in June 2019. Now in May 2020, no power steering again. Didn't even last a year. I was told in 2010 when I had my first one replaced by the mechanic at the saturn dealer that "I would be back in a year or 2" because he said "GM was not repairing or modifying the faulty power steering motor, so they will be continuing to put in a faulty part that will only last a short while. "But what do you care," he said, " it's under recall so you don't have to pay. Just keep bringing it back when the steering goes and we'll put another one in." Shame on GM for recalling something but not fixing the problem. Instructing your mechanics to put in a part you know is going to break is ridiculous - and now it's a continued great expense and not just a nuisance. And it is dangerous also.

    • @WhipCityWrencher
      @WhipCityWrencher  4 роки тому +2

      Yep, very dangerous.That's just plain stupid on their part, because there paying someone to do the job over and over, plus a lawsuit's if it causes an accident and someone get's hurt.
      The one I put in is a Cardone, (3 year warranty) I hope it last for the life of the car.If it fails there'll be a follow up video. Good Luck with your car! and Thank's for your feedback, I didn't know that they were doing that kind of BS.

      I know this is 2 years old but when you lost your power steering did the tires move when you turned your steering wheel? I was gifted a 2007 saturn and lost all steering to it my steering wheel turns all the way around but the tires don't turn when the steering wheel does. thankfully I was in parkinglot and noticed before a accident could happen but gm won't do anything to fix or even tell me the issue

    I had to replace the motor after it failed on two different ocasions.
    I was able to have it work again by restarting the engine before replacement of the motor. I no longer have problems.
    I took the original moter apart to look inside. The only thing I found
    was black dust from the brushes. I will spray the brushes and comutator with no residue spray cleaner and keep it for a spare. That's the only thing I think that could cause it to fail. Beware, the motor and parts are highly magnetic.

It was impossible, 1000 times worse than armstrong steering, if you're old enough to have driven a car with no power steering. There were a bunch of accidents people died yet GM refused to fix the problem. GM got out of the claims due to bankruptcy. I sold my Saturn, and sold the Saturn I bought for my son.
