You can find these things at Five Below...if you live near one...for now. Mileage obviously varies.
This is a big one. Well, it's a small one, but it's huge. These RC Nerf-dart firing tanks cost $5, and open up a whole wealth of opportunities on top of being a relatively fun product in itself. This may end up being one of those Gen 1 Panthers where after a few months it disappears and you won't find anymore, so you might want to jump on this one. Thanks to Buffdaddy for sending me these things. Seriously.

ok, now for a serious idea. how about attaching a cheap motion sensor to the dart holder, wiring it to the firing mechanism, and then driving it to some random place on the battlefield and basically having a remote control trip mine?
Or with a shitload of effort, create a deployable nerf drone swarm.
Serious idea. Get a cheap motion senser grab a Prometheus and put it on a swivel and make it move to the motion senser direction and make it fire you have essentially made a sentry that says “Fire what ever moves!” But with a nerf gun.

@@glowytheglowbug they could also be useful for the ammo mule so they could deliver ammo to the frontlines without being shot
A huge problem I see with these is that controlling an army of them would be essentially impossible. The environment is going to make many of them turn in different directions, so keeping them uniform is not possible. Plus the lack of aim, if you had an army of them, it would be substantially less effective than just buying a high end blaster. I think they should have in creased the budget a bit and provided a mini remote control with standard full directional control and some decent wheel size so that the mini blaster would be easier to navigate terrain, as well as aim.
I picked up a blue one a few weeks ago and it's the best $5 I've ever spent. The box says shoots up to 30 feet but I'm pretty sure it's way more

Honestly, I would just buy one blue, one red, and strip the blue, put it into the red, glue the controllers together, attach the blue gun to the red gun, redesign the body a bit, mabey a gear system, and boom! 10$ controllable decent RC tank.

You could reverse engineer it and make a similarly made DC motor powered RC tank and it wouldn’t cost that much more. If you can use a RecycleBot (which makes recycled PET filament for 3D printers) you can make the shell for $0.25 per kg, meaning this thing could cost $5 if you make them in bulk

The brand of the tank is Hero, there's also a revolver and a nitefinder type blaster and a mask

I've gotten a couple of other blasters from Five Below. They're actually pretty average, though they're great alternatives to Nerf blasters if you're working on a budget.

Silent First shot on a Flywheel, (dump the remote and hard wire a switch on your Flywheeler grip)
And thats just my initial thoughts.
All the possibilities, you could use a relay to make a pump for a xpz, and have its own battery, and use a the trigger to fire it

I might just need to order some from Five Below's website. If you wire the trigger switch points to a transistor driven by a passive infrared sensor, and are able to use the electronics to trigger a drain blaster, you can make this into an indirectly triggered multi-dart booby trap. Or you can use the board to turn on a loaded Swarmfire

Update. The mech is huge. I'll be spending next weekend in the garage mounting it to a small platform to sit on my shoulder and the controller is very easy to pop open so I'll be extending a few wires to mount it to a glove.

You could even wire in a flywheel blaster but this can't hold a big blaster. You can't just wire in the rc if it isn't running on 12v
If you take it apart... you could wire the directional control to the flywheel rev trigger and the firing button to the firing switch of a Rapidstrike, Stampede, Hyperfire or anything with an electric firing mechanism... BOOM... you have a Remote Turret. Sadly it wouldn’t oscillate
But .... Say you buy 10 tank things with the same frequency and hook them up to ten different Hyperfires... now you have an Automated Ambush/Kill Box...

To prevent backflow of energy, just get a couple of diodes. Assuming the energy needed is not too much, a diode should work fine.

my goodness this is a frighting thought , just having dozens of them just in spartan flanks just rushing you. i can imagine you give a handful of personalized tanks (shark face, and outer such) also if you upgrade it, make it have an attachment like a shotgun barrel, yes, YES that is an evil idea shotgun drone.
