I usually restrict the use of grenades like these to just darts, specially indoor wars as the rival balls can just bounce everywhere and if your ruleset doesn't accommodate for them, everyone can potentially just get tagged out by one grenade. Darts don't bounce as much and more can be stuffed in.

I would probably just engineer a way to use these as trip mines or something so I could direct the blast. Not really practical in most battles but could be useful under specific scenarios.

U can make a homemade grenade with 12 elite darts and 2 rubber bands First hold 12 darts faced up in 1 hand Then rap a rubber band around the tip of the darts Take another band and rap it around the bottom of the darts When u want to use it take out the bottom band Then hold it firmly so it does not detonate in hand Then throw at person or wall When it touches wall it will explode (It does not work well if u throw at ground) (It works better if throwing at something vertical)

The thing about rival rounds is that they are a perfect circle and so they can bounce off walls which means rival would be best if say in a hall way or a somewhat compact area. Edit: I just realized that they will get a slight bit deformed because of the lack of space for them. Don’t try this idea. It won’t work unless if u just loaded it and then threw it.

To put an LED onto a dart, you'd have to wire the LED itself, the board, and a power source, making a single round much heavier and possibly not even fit into the grenade. You're better off with glow in the dark darts. Just make sure you have them activated beforehand and obviously this works better at night.
Oh my gosh I had a genius idea. Load it with nerf hyper rounds and tape it to an RC car. When you run the car into your opponent it will blow up because of the impact.

That looks like it would work well with gel bbs, which are mostly water and don't require any clean up after use(they evaporate).
