I appreciate your observations. Steve is amazing 🎵🎶🎵 Seldom does anyone mention the way he squares up his posture and grounds himself, particularly for challenging portions of the songs. You should react to Mother Father live in Houston. Unbelievably vocals!
An absolutely iconically unique voice paired with great songwriting, storytelling and of course amazing music. This band got me through a very dark place in my life as a teen and I'll always be grateful for that. There will always be something magical about Journey.
Hello Mary, how're you doing? Your comments caught my attention and that is why I am reaching out to you. Your fan love for me warms my heart, Thank you! It's nice meeting you here.
This Houston concert is the show you need to pull reactions from. "Mother Father" and "Stone in Love" are brilliant vocal examples from this special show.
I've seen this video and heard this song hundreds of times over the past 40 years, yet I still get a chill during the opening chords of Jonathan playing the piano. Just like I did sitting in the stands at Brendan Byrne Arena in 1982 watching these guys. I've had the pleasure of seeing some of the greatest voices in rock live. Steve in '82 & '83, Ann Wilson in '77, Dennis DeYoung in '78 & '83 and probably the greatest ever Freddie Mercury in '80 & '82.
Steve has to be in the Top 5, maybe 3 greatest singers ever. This song is one of the greatest songs ever. Im so glad he returned to singing after a long hiatus. He did a few Christmas songs hopefully a few original ones will happen. Best of success on yr channel
Yes my dear no body can sing like Mr perry still the voice legend what More can I ask for legendary man mostly beautiful man the whole world ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for a fine reaction! 🙂Yeah, just as gram57 points on in these comments, there is something extra, extra special with "Mother, father" from the Houston live. Please do check it out! You will not be disappointed. 🙂
Most definitely needs to react to that but the one from 1978 when Steve was wearing all white! When he made the high pitched vocalization during the guitar solo….EPIC!
I wish you could have seen them live. I got to go to this concert, it was amazing! The energy, clarity and strength in his voice was awesome! Check out Open Arms, by Journey live in Houston. I would love to see you do reaction videos to Andrea Bocelli.
DR. I've listened to a lot of 'reactions' and most of them comment on their outfits, hair, etc. and very little about the actual singing and music. You actually comment on the music, which is what I want in a reaction video. Job well done!
If you want to get blow away even more, I highly Highly suggest watching the song "Mother Father" live from the same concert. It is a powerful song and one Steve admitted it is the hardest one to sing yet he makes it look easy with the range he gives it. It is also a very good one instrumentally.
Interesting thing about the color of the voice across the range. It seems Luis Miguel has that quality too, maybe you can check him out doing "la incondicional" live. Its mind blowing how he can keep a range of notes with the same full voice. I think they are 2 in a million.
Here are some great live songs from the same 1981 Houston concert!! ........ Escape - ua-cam.com/video/F-hDh_0wN8w/v-deo.html Keep On Runnin' - ua-cam.com/video/ZDpr6TrR4Dg/v-deo.html Dead Or Alive - ua-cam.com/video/HKiaj3NVDKY/v-deo.html Mother Father - ua-cam.com/video/3kx24YtwPKA/v-deo.html
If you want to go into the Spanish music I’ll recommend you to listen to guan grabiel with the song 🎶 ( lla lo se que tu te vas) live from Bella’s artes 🎭 😂🇲🇽😁
Erm..... 27k subs, 5 days old, 4 views ???? WTH is going on here. An incredible singer singing one of the rock anthems for the ages discussed by a clearly knowledgeable reactor, and no-one watches? SMH
Hi Dr. Marisan, I'm a new subscriber to your channel and I enjoy watching your vocal analysis videos. For your future reaction, may I recommend Ernie Zakri, a singer whom you may have not heard before. ua-cam.com/video/nAlXOdA96cY/v-deo.html Have a great and safe holiday season and thank you.
"And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music." Nietzsche. Amped up by your inspired and sophisticated views on the Steve Perry voice phenomena. Your voice appreciation meter is on another higher level for sure, but its fun to hear how professional musicians react to Steve Perry's voice. That song and band has been my background music for years since the late 70s and yet the voice and song pass and exceed the test of time. Those initial chords grab you in this song never let up, and mesmerize you somehow like I'm sure a King Cobra is mesmerized by certain sounds from a flute. Even as a grown man, this song can stop you in the car to tune into the delight of Steve Perry's voice on Sirius satellite radio. Admire your sophisticated musical ear, elegant beauty, and yet graceful wit. Look forward to your next video. Until then, I "won't stop believing" that Steve Perry has more musical heights to reach. Dom Perignon cheers. New US subscriber.
Superb analysis of a great singer and tremendous band!!! Suggest you add to your future list a group callled REO Speedwagon. Maybe "Take It On the Run" or "Heard It From a Friend".
They called him the Voice. Pretty much tells you his reputation among singers
Think Jon Bon Jovi coined that term about Perry's voice.
I was sitting stage left at this concert at The Summit in Houston. One of the best live performers of my generation.
You are, by far, one of the luckiest people EVER! I’m super jealous. I’m glad you had the opportunity to experience something so magical😊
WOW! Lucky you, one of my regrets is not going to see them in concert.
That is awesome. I would have loved to be a part of that concert. I just love Steve Perry and Journey. I can't get enough of hearing him❤❤
Steve Perry is an absolute Legend.😎👌🎵🎸
Steve Perry is the absolute greatest!
I appreciate your observations. Steve is amazing 🎵🎶🎵 Seldom does anyone mention the way he squares up his posture and grounds himself, particularly for challenging portions of the songs.
You should react to Mother Father live in Houston. Unbelievably vocals!

I saw Journey on this tour in ‘81, yes I’m that old, and it was amazing. A great band at the top of their game!
Steve Perry ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I seen Journey twice in concert here in New Orleans the birthplace of rock ‘n’ roll, and Steve Perry never let me down
He is in the Top 5 altime!!!
It is worth listening to the song "Mother, Father" live at this same concert. Simply incredible!
He always has alot of energy in his concerts. One of the best!!

It's nice meeting you here.
I was 24 yrs old here and was in love with Steve Perry .He had it all handsome, sexy, best voice ever, and a SHOWMAN on stage.
This Houston concert is the show you need to pull reactions from. "Mother Father" and "Stone in Love" are brilliant vocal examples from this special show.
I get joy watching you get joy analyzing and enjoying this song. Thank you.
Contains one of the most evocative lyrics ever imho - "Singer in a smokey room Smelling wine and cheap perfume". It's just like you're there.
I've seen this video and heard this song hundreds of times over the past 40 years, yet I still get a chill during the opening chords of Jonathan playing the piano.

THANKS girls autentic your explain over song. STEVE PERRY...ofcourse possitive.
Would love to see you react to what many consider Steve's virtuoso live performance of Mother Father from this same concert.
Steve has to be in the Top 5, maybe 3 greatest singers ever. This song is one of the greatest songs ever. Im so glad he returned to singing after a long hiatus. He did a few Christmas songs hopefully a few original ones will happen. Best of success on yr channel
I've said this may be my favorite song of all-time, any band -- I'm a metal, hard rock fan too!
Absolutely do a reaction to Mother, Father from the same Houston show. Its probably the pinnacle of his live performance.
You summed it up for all of us: The quality of his voice is very special
Another iconic song is Open Arms.
Definitely check out Mother Father from the same show. It's probably the best example of the vocal acrobatics Perry is capable of.
The best Malé voice ever
I luv when you youngster's like what i grew up with
Much ❤️❤️
I will only ever have two! The King and Steve Perry!!! None better!!!!
who is "The King"?
your analysis is wonderful and very clear! Regards from Moscow
Yes my dear no body can sing like Mr perry still the voice legend what More can I ask for legendary man mostly beautiful man the whole world ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Enjoyed your program very much! God bless you -- and Steve Perry too of course!
Thank you -- such a treat to share a reaction with someone who knows who Steve Perry and Journey are. More Journey please. Also love James Blunt.
Thank you for a fine reaction! 🙂Yeah, just as gram57 points on in these comments, there is something extra, extra special with "Mother, father" from the Houston live. Please do check it out! You will not be disappointed. 🙂
A sua voz é única e maravilhosa.
Steve Perry - Foolish heart
I'd appreciate an analysis of any of Steve Perry's other songs, especially live, that you care to share with us what he does well.
Wheel in the sky
Most definitely needs to react to that but the one from 1978 when Steve was wearing all white! When he made the high pitched vocalization during the guitar solo….EPIC!
Steve Perry’s voice is in the range of counter alto
Also closes every word, amazing!
Steve Perry is a god!
Have to listen to mother/father ............. simply incredible vocals ! .
I wish you could have seen them live. I got to go to this concert, it was amazing! The energy, clarity and strength in his voice was awesome! Check out Open Arms, by Journey live in Houston.
I would love to see you do reaction videos to Andrea Bocelli.
Please do MOTHER FATHER from the same night in Houston. It’s FIRE‼️🔥
I was lucky enough to be in the crowd that night. Awesome show. You definitely can't go wrong with journey. Got to see him again last year in Detroit
DR. I've listened to a lot of 'reactions' and most of them comment on their outfits, hair, etc. and very little about the actual singing and music. You actually comment on the music, which is what I want in a reaction video. Job well done!
His voice works great in a large auditorium,
My favorite voice ever, and don't feel bad I find it physically impossible to hear this song and not sing along.
Great reaction and analysis. You should react to When you Love a Woman.
I liked Journey, mid thirties. My fav have always been Steppenwolf, but there have been many greats. Thanks
If you want to get blow away even more, I highly Highly suggest watching the song "Mother Father" live from the same concert. It is a powerful song and one Steve admitted it is the hardest one to sing yet he makes it look easy with the range he gives it. It is also a very good one instrumentally.

You really need to see a guy name Tommy Johansson .he can sing anything and has the greatest voice range.u will be blown away .check him out
You should check out John Farnham, Jimmy Barnes or Russell Hitchcock. All great vocalist.
Great singing by Steve Perry...but the drums are also something else on this song...😉
If you want to go into the Spanish music I’ll recommend you to listen to guan grabiel with the song 🎶 ( lla lo se que tu te vas) live from Bella’s artes 🎭 😂🇲🇽😁
Check out another consistent one of a kind singer with soft rock in The Carpenters "We've Only Just Begun"
First note you know who it is. I could not believe it when he quit....

Not sure why it can take so long for a channel to catch on, but I am sure many will be here, as time goes on.
please check out Geoff Tate of Queensryche and their vids "Queen of the Reich" and "Take Hold of the Flame". powerful singer.
I do wish they would listen to different songs .they all review the same song.
You look like a young Kathleen Kennedy

Steve is not a one in million singer. He's a student of Sam Moore.
What's that mean 🤔
How to sing like a woman, but still sound like a man? Add the understanding for rythms and breath control, and you have The Mighty Steve Perry.
