So I watched this 20 or so times leading up to today when I ran the South course for the first time. Then I came back to the video. Amazing how much sense it makes AFTER THE FACT! ;) Of all the hard corners on this track I managed to go four off in corner 5. Rear end of my FWD N started to come around and correcting that put me into the weeds. Good thing there was nothing there unlike in this video.
Autobahn South is pretty nice. Gives you opportunity to learn it and quickly improve (compared to Full).

You like this one more than I do. I like some terrain and this one is not quite billiard table flat. It rained the night before, at the end of the wettest May in Chicago history and the ground was soaked. Water percolated up through the racing surface all day. I had the track entirely to myself the whole day, which was sorta cool, but I see track days as social events and pretty much the only people there were track employees.
South course is by far the best of all the configurations
Any thoughts on staying wider through turn 1 and using that outside curbing for a racing line?
Autobahn South is also my benchmark track. So far I've driven 3 different cars there over the course of 5 years.
Are you a member? I wanna go but the websites membership stuff scared me away.
@@Th3_0_h8 You can participate in a track day with different groups, usually, the price on average is ~$200 for the day. (scca and laps inc. are the groups that I tend to go with).
I wish it wasn't so dang pricy to drive here.
Autobahn is actually pretty reasonably priced compared to some other tracks, just check different organizations.
