  • Hi everyone, in today's video I'll show you some decor ideas using old maps, globes and will try to recreate some famous products from Restoration Hardware and Anthropologie!
    For making "map" letters you will need:
    some letters, I used cheap plastic clock which I cut apart, you can also buy some ready letters at Hobby Lobby or Dollar Tree;
    old maps, I used an old road map for this)
    white glue
    brown acrylic paint for aging
    For making Restoration Hardware inspired world map you will need:
    a priontout of the map, here is my printable: drive.google.c...
    And here is the link to David Ramsey maps collection in case you like your own design: www.davidrumse...
    some instant coffee
    some A4 frames, I used cheap wooden frames from Dollar Tree, if you buy black frames you eve won't have to paint them
    For making Anthropologie inspired globes you will need:
    some old globes;
    any dark paint to cover bright maps
    sisal thread;
    -some brown thread to embroider meridians over sisal. If you're not much into embroidering, you can just glue it over
    some gold spray paint for globe stands
    a couple of wooden circles, you can cut them yourself or buy ready ones of needed size
    some wood stain of chosen color, I used Varathane Provincial

    On your second project, how did you decide how to print it to take into account the thickness of the frames and gaps between each frame and still have it line up so well?

      Hi, in fact I had to do this twice, because I forgot about these gaps completely and found out the picture didn't fit only when my hub hang the frames))) so I I had all frames hanging already and after that I measured the spacing to "delete" from the prints. The template I'm posting in the description box is already taking this spacing into account. So if you want to recreate it with some other picture - hang the frames first and measure the spacing and then delete the "spacing strips" from the picture in the editor (I used Corel Draw for that)

      @@IrenesDIY oh that's a smart work around! I was trying to figure out how to do it with math first and that's just not my strength lol. It was simply stunning!!
