    JOURNAL ENTRY 5/7/17 THE BAHAMAS
    We have been anchored in the protected waters of Green Turtle Cay for the past couple of days, but now that the weather is calm we are ready to continue our transit across the Abacos here in The Bahamas.
    We made an easy day sail from Green Turtle Cay over to a beautiful island called Manjack. We were invited to join a group of people who were feeding a stingray in the water. We later found out that Manjack Cay is actually a popular destination where people can come and feed the semi tame stingrays and sharks. It was a really fun experience.
    Later that day we wanted to have some fun in the dinghy and get some awesome drone footage of Randall speeding up and down the beach. We were having great fun until Kenzie accidentally crashed the drone into a tree branch causing the drone to fall to the ground. Upon retrieving the drone we found that the arm holding the gimbaled camera broke making the drone impossible to use. It was a very sad day for Kenzie, so we didn't film anything else that day. Stay tuned to find out what happens to our drone next.

      This is very true! We are currently sharing our sailing adventure from 2017, so whatever footage you see in our videos is pretty much all the footage we have to work with. We had never filmed ourselves doing anything before, so we had no idea what to do or say in front of the camera. It is always a little awkward at first, but as time goes on you start to get the hang of it. We have found that editing videos of days that we talked more to the camera are a lot easier to edit then the days where we did not talk as much to the camera. It is an interesting skill, one that we hadn't quite mastered yet. We appreciate you following our story and for leaving us a great comment! Have a great day!

    I sail single handed where the bottom is sticky mud. When I pull the anchor I cleat it off a foot or so below water and back slowly to wash the gunk off.

      @@SailingTurtle Did you get my comment explaining I am LDS too? Just wondering if you saw it or not.

      We did! We were SO excited when we read your comment and had so much fun reading through everything that you said. We LOVE connecting with our viewers and hearing that you and your family are LDS too just made our day! Hahaha We do read every comment that we get and we try to respond to each one the best we can in a timely manner....Haha... We just had so much that we wanted to say back, that it was taking a little bit longer than usual for us to type it all out, so yes we are still going to respond to your original comment! =D It's just that we are both currently back to working full time jobs, trying to get our financial feet back under us, so it's been taking us little bit more time to get a chance to sit down at the computer and read through and respond to all of our comments. We are excited to share with you some of our thoughts about sailing and church. Thank you so much for watching our videos and for taking the time to leave us great comments! We really do appreciate it!!

    Are you going to upgrade to a big sail boat later on?

    • @SailingTurtle
      @SailingTurtle  5 років тому

      We think that would be a great idea especially since we would love to travel to further away places. Our size boat was doable and we felt extremely confident with all of the upgrades we made to our it, but in the long run a 26' boat would not be ideal for crossing larger oceans. Sailing will always be a huge part of our lives and we would love to go on an epic sailing adventure again in the future! Thank you so much for watching our videos and for taking the time to leave is a great question!

    Are you going to upload more videos? Also are you planning of sailing ⛵️ in the Pacific Ocean 🌊?

      @SailingTurtle  5 років тому +1

      We have been posting weekly videos for the past year and a half and hope to continue to keep up on that schedule for as long as we can. We hope to have a variety of adventures in the future that we can film and share here on our channel and hopefully sailing again on the Pacific Ocean will be on the list. It would be fun to go back to where we first learned how to sail. Thanks for watching and for asking some great questions!
