I'm first-time mom who is 36 weeks pregnant -- I was an only child and I never babysat for babies this young, so I just wanted to pop in and say thank you for videos like this! While I've learned a lot from newborn care classes, it's so much information but no one really goes over how it all FITS TOGETHER. I know this video is old and it was probably just a typical boring day for you, but just know that taking the time to document and talk through it straightforwardly really helped!

Hi! I exclusively pump too! A tip to avoid washing the pump after every use, it to put the pump bottles into a ziplock bag and store in the fridge until next use. Then you only need to wash them morning and night :)
Hi, I hope you don't mind me asking I'm just curious why do you pump and not breastfeed? Is it because of mastitis?
@@theblossomingyou1663 no, because my baby boy decided he didn't have time to breastfeed, and just wouldn't latch😅 took the bottle easy peasy, so I pumped. My baby girl breastfeeds np though. :) All babies are different, but it's good to know that pumping is an option before giving into formula

She's gotten so big! My little girl was born around the same time, she wasnt preemie but was small enough to wear preemie for a while. It's so fun to see them grow :)

I don’t know if this is a feasible suggestion for you but I noticed that you use the lansinoh milk bags...if you switched to the lansinoh pump you could pump directly into those bags and have 2 less things to clean. It doesn’t solve all the issues but maybe would save you a little time in the cleaning process if you can afford to switch pumps?

Or instead of buying another pump, on amazon they have a box of the storage bags that come with an adapter part so you can pump into the bags. Up to you. She is so cute!

I really admire the consistency of your schedule. I’m a first time mom to a 2 month old and it’s really hard for me to set a schedule and stick to it. I kinda wing it everyday lol also Quinn is growing so beautifully!
Aww that’s so sweet! I definitely don’t feel consistent sometimes but I do try! I feel like I’m just winging it a lot of the time too tho haha!😊
I'm so happy I found your channel! I was looking for DITL with a Newborn and this was the best one I've found! I love that you show a schedule and exactly what you do during her nap times! It was also nice to see that you have a preemie!! I just had a preemie and she should be coming home in the next couple of weeks so I'm going to be binge watching your videos!!

Ive seen steamer bags you just rinse your parts and then can microwave them in this bag to sanitize them. I'm pregnant with my first so I haven't used them but maybe that could be a decent in between option for the pump parts.
Its nice to actually see your daily life with a newborn helps me prepare for my 2nd baby she’ll be here in 2 weeks or less 🤰🏻🎀

Check into Imagination Library for her! You get a new book 1 time a month until age of 5 for free, my little boy is 16 months and so far all of his books are the hardback books one of the first ones they have got as a newborn was the black and white book you showed!

Quinn is so sweet love how she's smiling and cooing now, and she absolutely looks like Eric!! Ace.....omg love that dog !!!!! His face peaking out the frisbee lol and running off with your phone ,too hilarious you've got your hands full Cara lol have you checked into the breast pump you wear in your bra? I wanna say it's called Elvie It's only got like two parts you wash,and would be so convenient for you,you poor thing washing all those parts!! Its got an app you can monitor how much milk and things , love the DITL Quinn is such a doll, how is she with bath time? Does she like the water?
I looked into those a little but I probably should again!! Haha yaaa it’s definitely a job! Quinn loves her bath! I think she’ll love the pool, too!😊❤️

Hi! I wanted to ask you if you had preeclampsia again with this baby? I had preeclampsia at the end of my 2 pregnancies, I would like to have more kids but I am afraid of having it again! ☹️
Hi! I did get preeclampsia at the end of my 2nd pregnancy also but thankfully I was already 39 weeks!

Your doing a great job..I'm a first time mum and my baby that turned one month..I have help with my mum on a daily basis but still dont have a routine yet..time just flies as I have to express milk all the time, as she does not latch and clean and i feel like I'm not spending as much time to bond with her..i feel bad.. why did you choose to Express milk instead of directly breastfeeding?
I’m a premie mom as well and exclusively expressing. It’s so exhausting, also on a 3hour schedule and usually have to choose between eating, showering or using the loo lol

Im due 9/17/21 Im super nervous I’m only 20yrs old and just lost my job and live in crowded household. Me and the father want to move in together to be able to nurture and keep it but I’m conflicted on what to do. I personally don’t feel peace aborting it. Any advice?

I so, so, wish I was blessed with the pain, the stress, the exhaustion, the beauty, the infatuation, the bond, and everything else that comes with pregnancy and bearing and raising a child. With all of the men i’ve dated, none want a child in their 20’s. I’ve looked into IVF but to go at it alone, I would need to be better off financially. I know the day will come and I just am at the edge of my seat. I know there is more to life and I try not to obsess, but something about having a child. I have always felt like I knew it’s something so right for me. I try to live day by day, although it’s very hard to focus on your current goals when having a baby isn’t just something you jump into with anyone. Having a time frame for a baby when you’re not in a relationship isn’t really practical. It’s so heartbreaking to me, honestly. I hope everyone in my position the best future. Also, your baby is just absolutely beautiful. Such a tiny little bean 🥺

When I would pump I ended up buying 2-3 sets of parts so I didn’t have to wash them right away. I could even soak them in soapy water too 😊it’s money but it’s worth the investment!

So glad I came across your channel, I’m going to be 34 weeks in a couple days and I’m feeling so overwhelmed and nervous about having my first baby, (girl) and seeing you with a routine and that you’re alright makes me able to breathe for some reason, I loved pregnancy but now that it’s coming to an end I feel shooken up because I’ve always thought I’d be the crazy aunt, and I’m scared....But seeing how precious these moments are, and her little life and smiles, makes me unbelievably happy and secure about having my daughter!! I hope I’m a good mother like you are. I hope I handle things well. Hope you are still well. Thanks again for sharing. 💕

I remember when I used to pump and my baby is a terrible sleeper 😭 so I would literally pump for 5 minutes and then she is up 😣😣 I was between her and my pump the whole day ( she had problem latching)

I was just randomly scrolling and saw this video and decided to watch it. I have one son and he's 41 so it's been a lot of yrs since I was where you are now. I enjoyed your day in the life of a newborn. It's clear that you're happy being mommy and you love your baby very much. Something about this video was comforting and happy. I think you're one of those people who are positive and it draws others to you. I have a sister in law who is very much like that. I love going for a visit to her home. You're doing a wonderful job as a mommy and just keep rocking it. Another thing I've watched other mommy and baby videos and I'm astounded to see all the cool new products that are out there! There are so many useful things that I wish were available when my son was born. I wish you, your baby and your hubs all the best. May the Lord bless each one of you richly
my son was born at 34 weeks due to preeclampsia too. i had to fortify at least 3 of his bottles until he was about 5 months. let me tel how how less stressful it is when you just have to breastfeed and not worry about pumping so much. some day i felt like i wanted to give him because i hate being attached to the pump. i only pump twice a day now. have you tried to get extra set of bottles or pumping set up to give you a break after each feeding. i did and i felt like it was a little bit of a break so i didn’t have to wash every feeding. i washed everything other that way i always had a clean set

Omg I remember those blowouts! I've never had my own kids but I worked with infants at a daycare.There was one time where one of the babies crawled over to the tree on playground and just exploded on it..yes the tree.Its terrible in the moment but funny later! 😄
I am a Grandma from Australia and well done sweetheart you are spot on, bubbie wouldnt have as strong immune system and you need to be very on top of that and your doing a GREAT JOB. I could reach through this lap top and kiss that little Angel face, She would have to be one of the most BEAUTIFUL baby's i have ever seen, your both doing a great job and when you brought up about doing the right thing because of her immune system i dont know you but i was so proud of you. xoxo
I have a preemie and exclusively pump as well. It took a couple try’s to get the coordination down but I pump at the same time I give my son his bottle. Saves me so much time especially at night. I just position the boppy off center on my hip and he lays in front of me like I’ve seen you hold Quinn and his feet rest on my chest but he’s laying on one end of the boppy instead of the center. Hope that makes sense.

You're so organized and get so much done in a day (and not just pumping even if it may feel that way). I can't get organized or keep a schedule and I don't even have a newborn. Have you ever tried two haakaas to pump out milk instead? I usually only breastfeed but when my boyfriend feeds my baby and I skip a feeding I use two haakaas and they collect a really good amount of milk and it’s easier to clean.

@@CaraJane if you want to keep your supply up then I wouldn’t use the haakaas since you aren’t breast feeding. You could lose your supply. Not sure if you ever did or not with this baby. But for future babies I wouldn’t suggest that.

She’s always been super chill and we’ve always just fed her every 3 hours (not at night anymore). Not sure if it has anything to do with her being in the nicu for a month first, but she’s always seemed to do great with that schedule so I probably won’t change it until I think she needs something different😊😊

Just finished this this video while pumping! I totally feel ya when it comes to exclusively pumping. It is such a full-time job! Happy that I can make Leo milk, but it would for sure be so much easier if I just could breastfeed or give formula. But, I will continue as long as I can because, I know it's best for him and his little immune system too! When it comes to the pump and washing the parts everytime, you are doing it perfectly! I wash all of my stuff every single time too! It is the most safe and sanitary way to do it! Okay, enough about the making milk life haha! I loved your video, Quinn is so precious! Love all her little noises. She does AMAZING at tummy time! That neck strength is sooo good! We slack at doing tummy time too, but our babies will get to everything and develop just fine on their own terms! You are such a good mama and I'm so glad I found your videos! Hope all is good and well, love you guys!

It's really nice how you read to her and stuff. My mom read to me and I memorized the books. She taught me numbers and letters and a lot of things before kindergarten so when I went for my first day, I already knew everything and most of the other kids didn't know their numbers/letters yet. I was so disappointed that I didn't learn how to READ on the first day of kindergarten lol

Instead of the citronella candles, you might want to try getting some citronella plants and spanish lavender plants for a "cleaner" option, and your deck will smell amazing 24/7..
My sister just told me about citronella plants today! So crazy! I definitely need to get some of those! Thank you😊😊
