Brian Slagel, CEO of Metal Blade Records, interviews Kevin Moore and Jim Matheos about their "Fire Make Thunder" album.
So the mythical creature named Kevin Moore really exists.
No myth, a true legend ;-)
I’m surprised he turned down the dream theater 20th anniversary dvd concert of when dream and day unite?
@@fmbighair Do you know why he left DT by chance?
@@deadbydawn745 The routine of "Write a bunch of songs, record them, tour for fourteen months, repeat" was not what he wanted to do anymore. Plus his creative ideas clashed with what the rest of the guys wanted to do. He's also a licensed psychiatrist in ND
@@kai326 Thanks for the info! 👍
The man, the legend, my personal hero. Kevin Moore.
Trying to find kevin moore is harder than trying to find Waldo after that time he went into the factory where they made red and white sweaters.
I'm dying xD
Man OSI is my favourite bands. I hope there will be a new album soon.
The interviewer did really well with this one. Neither of them seemed comfortable being there and their answers were brief. He stuck at it and asked genuine questions. Great job.
Guy goes way back to Early Metallica years.
God KM needs to come out with a new OSI and Chroma Key album already. Been so many fkn years. I can't take it
Guys...Invisible Men? Pure genius. I love how Jim Matheos is easy going enough to just trust Kevin with chopping and structuring stuff because the end result is always so transcendent. Two geniuses at work here. OSI LIVE PLEEEEEASE KEVMO! PLEEAAASE!!
One of my all time favorite bands. Every record is so good. So wish they'd get active again.
I just got the three first records on vinyl, I can't believe this is eleven years ago. Kevin is now Dr.Moore.
the two greatest composers in metal/prog. period.
Kevin Moore is on a whole different plane.
I love Kevin Moore
Same
I think Osi is one of the most interesting and particulary band i never eard....i love them specially the voice....
I dunno...Kevin Moore, the way he makes rare appearances...that combined with his unique style of playing...makes me feel like he is God...
ya he reminds me of me lol
rare footage of moore
DT have an obligation to their fans. Moore never cared about the big pay off. He just wanted to dictate his own sound. We all love OSI. Hopefully they put a tour together.
I would be fuckin THERE.
The world needs more music from OSI.
Kevin,you are amazing...
Two genius here, these guys know how to play!
Great to see more of Moore. Hope they're gonna play live in the not too distant future!
This Band from the get go have been blowing my mind! Got into OSI because of MP. These guys are scary creative imo.
Is that Beethoven on the far left...
WHEN!?! WHEN IS THERE TO BE NEW STUFF!?! I'M DYING!
Its the biggest fucking problem with Kevin Moore and OSI and Chroma Key. He has now taken all of his stuff on Patreon. I am aching for a new record but yea its like a record once every 7 years, I'm tired of waiting. But I shall keep waiting
@@mindseye4914 New Fates Warning this year to keep us busy in the meantime!
Chroma key came out with some demos but that depends if you exclusively like osi
Kevin became a Doctor. He probably won't release new material anymore
Jim and Kevin are awesome. And their music is great, beyond words... I love OSI
I love OSI, they're awesome.
Absolutely Love OSI
OSI is a great band, I love the new album...
I also liked the interview so much, nice questions by Brian
Great choice on drums with GH. Amazing drummer and composer.
Kevin the best pianist/Keys(D.T).
Best album & best musician…with a great soul
Kevin Moore's a doctor now.
He’s my dr 😵💫
GREAT interviewer as well by the way. Well prepared, friendly and enthusiastic. That's how you get people to talk.
man, can't wait for this! the sampler was epic, some great melodies there. LIVE STREAM FTW!!!!
Kevin is very unusual man. There's something about him very strange, in a positive way.
Yeah, the interviewer is Brian Slagel who founded and owns Metal Blade Records, which OSI are signed to among many many others.
Please, new album, when?
When dream and day unite
I was shocked too, the J.D. Salinger of music
Love me some OSI! I think adding Gavin to the mix has helped tremendously (no offense to Portoy fans because I also really like Portoy). I wish they'd use Mikeal from Opeth or Steven Wilson on vocals all the time.
AWESOME!
I miss Kevin so much in any kind of music he would do... Why nobody offer him a deal in order toswitch back to music only for a moment...?!
Oh sweet Jesus. OSI interview!
what a fuckin' guy
This is how interviews should be done, greeat men!
best band ever!
Amen to that!!!
Kevin, make more chroma key!!!
Esperando como un loco al nuevo disco.
Album is freakin awesome
OSI = original superior infinite
"Fun probably wouldn't be the right word to say"
Keviiiiiinnn!!!!!!
¿Para cuándo el nuevo album?
You guys really need to do an official video of Invisible Men.
Why are the OSI videos unlisted? Not helping with spreading the word out there.
I love how this interview was like a big deal when this album came out cuz the two dudes were the actually in the same room and stuff. Then the interviewer and, i guess, owner/co-0 was basically promising that the label would put them on tour. that didn't happen. It's like 2.5 years or 3 years later or whatev. wtf happened... anyways, Moore sounds exactly like John Frusciante.
I wonder how I could meet Brian Slagel?
I believe that I can make money for that guy!
Up
Ever see a genius laugh? 1:27
Get back in dream theater!
they work from home by themselves and they make such great stuff....what if they could work togheter like other bands?
Kevin Moore discovered project Quantum Leap!
SCORPIONS InTrance Shirt ;)
Aris YellowRaven. Old Scorps absolutely
Kevin looks like Andrew Garfield... Spiderman
I am HCG hear me ROAR!!!!!!!
Haha, he doesn't even like talking about his time with DT, but maaaaaybe :P.
he could have asked soo many more meaningful questions to Kevin.. like cmon dude!
talk about how Kevin Moore is a genius... Duh!
I miss you Kevin, go back to Dream Theater!!!
No don't
equimanthorn6 Kevin Could duo with Jordan, that would be sick!
OSI is 10 times better that DT
Ma non dire puttanate, porca di quella troia.
Ur high but ur not wrong
no
That dude has sideburns..yet he's bald
Who else noticed this?
He is in the right color scheme. The New Math is a taste of what a Moore based DT would be doing now. There was friction with Portnoy. Portnoy has liver flukes!
Now that Mangini is on drums, Moore should return to keys for the five albums he owes the record company!
Weird to think that Kevin would rather do sit on a couch and talk to disturbed people than travel around the world and make amazing music.
Oh, please don't!
there's just soo many more musical questions to ask and this guy just repeats himself..
The interviewer? That's Brian Slagel, the man who founded Metal Blade Records back in the 80s
@@TheDarkEternalKnight07 even more disappointing
Jim is one of my musical heroes (BIG Fates Warning fan), and Kevin, in my opinion, was one of the best components of Dream Theater. I really feel DT lost big time when the group lost Moore. He added something to the mix that has never been replaced.
(Not that I am much into DT anymore, having "replaced" that band with Pagan's Mind.)
The new OSI sounds really good. Thanks for posting this interview.
P.S. Both men look healthy and well.
TheTrueFortress. DTs loss was FW. Gain A pleasant shade of gray
Love dream theater, but absolutely agree. Moore's Chroma Key is what I listen to the most.
OSI is 10 times better that DT
no, dont compared this shit with dt
Nah. OSI is good, but DT it's *THE* Prog Metal band
