"Time to land" says George at 5:35. So true. Instead of a plane, I felt it sounded like the landing of the helicopter we had gotten on at the beginning of the song.
Close your eyes. See it. The crowd. The arena lights go down. The cigarette lighters turn on. Hear it. The clapping begins. Organ groans louder. The Edge’s guitar builds up. Crowd feet stomping. Then the drums. Then the crash! Bam! The glare of stage lights flood the audience. Bono starts wailing. Fucking magic.
That was the opening song every night of The Joshua Tree tour. Absolutely amazing. Those guys took you on a journey.
“The city’s a flood,
And our love turns to rust,
We’re being blown by the wind,
Trampled in dust.”
So so good!🔥🤙
I was there… 🥰❤️
@@simsey1000 Fuck yeah!🤘❤️
Perfeita descrição, parabéns❤
Every song on The Joshua Tree is genius... the cumulative effect of the album is incomparable. One of the top 5 rock albums of all time.
U2 build worlds with their music. One of the best band all the times
U2 was always on the top of my list. They are so different from other bands. Their sound is so magical & his voice has SO much emotion/feeling. I like the sound of the lead guitarist too. Joshua Tree was a special album. Love them...
They sang this at the Super Bowl right after 9/11. A huge banner rose up listing all the victims names. Now that'll give you chills.
U2 has a unique energy and sound- it stems from Bono- he has incredible charisma.
I lived in Las Vegas when U2 wrote this. They wrote the Joshua Tree (a desert plant) album in Vegas. The city was growing so fast that they couldn’t name the streets as fast as they were building houses. I had to go to a school and the directions were to go to the end of this street go 3 blocks turn left, 4 blocks turn right and you will see the school.
The take shelter from the poison rain was in reference to the Chernobyl disaster, they wrote the song just after that incident, we all in Europe could identify with that fear at that time
Bro's, you'll love their "Pride (In the Name of Love)", "I Will Follow" and "Sunday Bloody Sunday"!!
There are *way* better U2 songs than those. Zooropa, The Unforgettable Fire and Acrobat just to name three.
U2 live - “All I Want is You”/“Where the Streets Have No Name”…amazing performance 🔥🔥🔥
This!
Probably one of the best performance of this song. Thanks.
This song always takes my breath away. I remember when “Joshua Tree” came out. What a deep and beautiful song.
Me too. Takes me back to my college days.
Another great song from U2 - love it! This is the opening track from their 1987 album The Joshua Tree. You've already reacted to a couple of songs from this album, guys, I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For and With or Without You, both great songs. Some other songs that I love from U2 are Pride (In the Name of Love), Vertigo and Desire. Thanks for another great reaction, guys, always so good and always so interesting! Take care now. 😊👍
So atmospheric! The driving pulse of the instruments is so continuous that it does make you fly! So many nice subtle changes and layers as the song progresses. "Sunday Bloody Sunday" is their anti-war anthem. Nice reaction guys - thanks!!
This is such a beautiful song. I read that Bono wrote the lyrics while in Ethiopia about Ireland reflecting on the contrast and divisions of the world. His hopes were that music and art in general would break down the barriers between people and bring them together. I feel this is so true, just like much of the music you guys cover on your channel. Thank you for this reaction - you are doing a great job in bringing us together!🧡
The song is about Ireland and the divisions between cities, rich and poor, catholicism and presbyterianism by simply knowing what street you live on.
@@olliegueret2963 Hi Ollie, yes, thus the reference to the haves and the have nots and the injustices not only there but all over the world.🌿(love the name Ollie:))
@@Jules-um4yy Now how can i argue with you when you're being incredibly sweet!💖💖💖
@@olliegueret2963 Awww, thanks Ollie!🍀🧡
them performing this live at the Superbowl right after 9/11 was very emotional you should check out
That superbowl performance and the Slane Castle one are my favourite live performances of this song.
daniel lanois, the producer, is a goddamn genius
Want more chills.... watch a live performance when the lights shine on the crowd!!! Being there and feeling it brings tears to my eyes!!
Great reaction dudes!
That tiny little Island has produced some amazing artists!!!
They wrote this whole album "Joshua Tree" in a place... called Joshua Tree National Park in California. I used to live 5miles from there. Great Album!♥️
i think you are wrong...
@@frasermcampbell
I think I'm right. When I lived in Yucca Valley CA in 2014-16. I saw the motel they rented for months and many businesses had stories about them. Joshua Tree is very small town.
Finally someone reacts to the studio version of this song and not the video.
U2 has like 50 amazing songs. You gotta do Bad next, specifically the Birmingham 1984 version.
I was in high school when this album came out and it was HUGE. Glad to see U2’s music reach a different generation. Sending good vibes to you both.
Definitely an emotional song for me every time I hear it. Thanks for reviewing it!
Goosebumps every time I hear this song. Love it
Nice reaction Bros! Great song, great band. Joshua Tree is an amazing album. Don’t leave it without hearing Bullet the Blue Sky!
Great reaction to one of my favorite U2 songs. I see several have already recommended “Bad”. I would also recommend “So Cruel”, “Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses” and “One Tree Hill”. There are so many good songs to choose from.
dipping, rolling, reaching, FLYING
The best way to experience u2 is live. You should definitely react to the live versions of their songs. They take on a different dimension
My fav song and album of all time! Seeing this live is just amazing! Best concert experience of my life! The Edge is my musical idol and the reason I started playing guitar!
U2 has so many hits, but this has always been my favorite song by the band! :-)
Always a pleasure to have U2 join the party. They have an honesty that is captivating. And The Edge is such a majestic guitarist. I think you'd like Angel of Harlem, one of my favorites by them. Also, they participated in the Cole Porter tribute album, Red, Hot and Blue with their version of Night and Day. It's incredible!
Saw them 12-9-87 Atlanta Ga great show Mark from Augusta Ga
Attending one of their concerts is a spiritual experience. ❤
Joshua Tree is one of the most perfect albums ever.
This song hit me hard in the car going to work. The energy and emotion is insain. Blown away.
Masterpiece song of a masterpiece album. Such an grandiose intro.
I just wonder how The Edge reproduce all those sounds in live context, organ, guitar, keyboards, rythm guitar. He uses samplers and pre-recorded tools.
U2 A Great Group.Phenomenal.This Song is very good. I'm from I 'm from the Country of Chile.
One of the greatest rock bands ever. For a bit of a different vibe check out Achtung Baby (my personal fave U2 album). ‘One’ is without doubt one of their best songs, and ‘Whose Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses’ rocks. Thanks for spending time with this awesome band❤️❤️❤️
Hi Nancy, I love "Whose Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses" too!
See them live guys. It'll change your life.
Agree with just about everyone else, this song is classic U2, and such a great song. Thanks for hitting this one, bros.
So beautiful guy's!! Thx bro's!! From @Boston
After this album full of great songs like Where the streets have no name, With or without you or I still haven't found what I'm looking for, U2 becomes the greatest band around the world.
I was lucky to see them twice in Santiago de Chile.
Regards from Chile!! 🙂
Such a fantastic track. So them a few times when they were first making it big. The video for this is great too.
The other day I was driving my son to west LA and as we passed close to where the video was filmed this song came on the radio. It immediately brought me back to when I was 14 years old and the video came out on MTV. I’ve been listening to it a few times a day since.
U2 Pride In the Name Of Love Live Dortmund 1984. Great vibe!
My favorite U2 song of all time. I've read that this is about a section of Dublin where the street name can tell you whether or not you are safe.
ABRAZO GIGANTE GRACIAS TOTALES. LOS SERES HUMANOS SON MARAVILLOSOS CUANDO CAMINAN POR EL PUENTE DEL ALTÍSIMO CREADOR. YO SOY EL QUE SOY ABRAZO. 💥💥💥🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱👁
U2 forever😊😊😊❤❤❤hello from Austria
Great reaction! I loved how you said it made you feel like you were flying around the globe! I hope you will give a listen to Oh Darling by the Beatles. Every song of theirs sounds different. Paul sounds incredible as lead singer. I think you'll love it!
I think you guys would also like U2's Bullet the Blue Sky (live), which is a little harder than most U2 songs, and The Unforgetable Fire. They're very different from each other but both great.
No one should react to the studio version of this especially, but I’d say almost any U2 song. They always bring their stuff to the next level live
Fucking awesome.
A great song from a great album - The Joshua Tree.
I think your description of flying and landing was very apt.
The song intro is of course very church like. Apt as the song itself is about heaven. Where the streets have no name. No class divide of materialism. Spirit not flesh. The guitar slides in and begins the non stop trip and it indeed flew you around the world in your heart. The openness of the desert is also invoked. a place of wisdom, saints and shamans and the album itself. ( Please put your tray tables up and strap in…….It’s time to land. As we are not in heaven and must be grounded in the earth. Where we still haven’t found what we’re looking for. So we seek it in others and religions and romance. Our humanness that can’t live With or without you. And then the reality of politics and war and psychopaths closes in stark contrast to the opening. As we Bullet the blue sky in the dualism of love and fear. Heaven and earth.
Running to stand still we numb ourselves against the pain and fear in addictions and disassociation. From Father to son. In a Red hill mining town we seek security and survival as we mine the red of the earth. To exhausted to mine the heart of the self. In Gods country we Trip through the wires of tragedy. Running like a river to the sea. The sun goes down in our eyes in One tree hill. Trying to stay awake to drive the dreams we had away….all the way to the EXIT……Disappearing from the Mother. Hoping and praying all your prayers will get you to Where the streets have no name.
My favourite song of all time. By anyone.
the feeling of flying... In the movie Fearless, the director, Peter Weir, use the Intro of this U2 song... in a scene of a plane takeoff. And i'im telling you, it works!
Gotta watch one of the live versions from late 80’s. The one from Tempe Az. Talk about chills when they throw the lights on in the beginning
You must see the two fantastic live UA-cam videos of this. The first is from halftime of the Super Bowl in the USA right after 9/11. With the names of the dead scrolling in the background. 😢The second is the intro to their concert film ‘Rattle and Hum’. It really is the perfect emotional opener.

10/21/1992. Denver's Mile High Stadium. U2's Zoo Tour. Best Concert Ever.
You really should've reacted to this song live! Slane Castle version if You ask me
One more time:"Bad" - LiveAid Wembley 1985
Please watch the official video 🙏. Great reaction
Great reaction. Gotta react to live video though. You can love the song by listening, but you can’t really understand or appreciate the power and size of this song unless you see it live. Slane Castle 2006 or Rose bowl 360 are two of the best
guys you watched Roof top video ten years ago.... we all did lol
Amazing song live.. also a song that nearly did not happen. The master tapes were almost deleted as the beginning was SOOO tough to get right.
i think you guys would love BAD and unforgetable fire and every breaking wave, there is alot more that is to long to name, all the best from the UK
Great reaction; haven't heard this brilliant studio version longer. Fantastic songs from 30-million-seller album Joshua Tree are too: Bullet The blue Sky/political ad Running To Stand Still/deep addiction lyrics with official Live versions from the U2 film Rattle And Hum (both often played as a package: e.g. Live Paris 1987), or One Three Hills/homage to a roadie - motocycle accident.
I'm sure you will blow away about the song package Sunday Bloody Sunday+Bad Live Aid 1985. the second is an addiction song too, unique in two ways; let yourself be surprised.
The blues-inspired Kite from Live Boston 2001 and the deep ballad Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own from the fantastic Live At Brooklyn Bridge 2004 describe Bono's relationship with his father; but for me reflections in every relationship.
At the end an emotional song City Of Blinding Lights (Ne quitte pas) from Live Paris 6.12.2014: U2's response to the sneaky assassination at the concert of the US rock band Eagles of Death Metal.
I love your enthusiasm for your good music and his for me a journey back; sometimes I get new insights. Thanks!
You do a GREAT job. Thank you!
The greatest ever
As a fan for 30 years, let me enlighten you two! Please…
i love the guitar the edge
I was 16 when this came out. I'm 16 again :))))
I’d like to see you guys react to So Cruel from the Achtung Baby album.
YES!!!!
Seeing this song live is a religious experience.
Wish you guys had done a live version.
I request "Endless Dream " by YES. I just saw them in concert. Yes was sooooooo AWESOME!!!!! EVERY sound...... every song was AWESOME!!!!
Another great video. Try watching the live versions, in some cases, much better than the studio.
And the have a song called The Fly.
Great song 😎
bono voice !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! incomparable !!!french fan
guys you need to do react to " BAD " by U2 its by a mile the best song they have ever written trust me please do it for me
What can you say when hearing a great song ,just enjoy
Just a suggestion but you guys should react to Procol Harum’s “Whiter Shade of Pale”. A masterpiece, especially the live version in Denmark.
Hi there, they've already reacted to this song, live in Denmark version. It was brilliant!😊
One Tree Hill next please.
You have to do U2 Until the End of the World its alot darker and more of a heavier rock song and it has an epic guitar solo
@BroAction , if you want to react to a phenomenal vocal achievement from Bono do a reaction to U2 Moment of Surender live at the Rose Bowl. You will not be disappointed. By the way. No one has done a reaction to that particular video yet. You would be the first.
Assista o clip em Los Angeles muito bom.
Have you guys heard "Turn Me Loose" by Loverboy? It _rocks_ . Trust me.
Have you checked out "Bad" yet....it is amazing!!!!
Bono says this song is “when God walks in the room.”
Great channel!! If you haven’t already, you must do the live version from Rattle and Hum!!
I feel U2 was relevant in 1991 and before
👍👍👍👍👍
MONSTERS by JAMES BLUNT I'd love you both to react to it, its a subject you haven't reacted to before.
Just to see what you make of it.
Loved your reactions to Dire Straits ❤
Hey Bro, Listen “ The Fly “
Hey guys I love your reactions, I'm a U2 fan, please react to the song Bad but you should listen the version of the Rattle and Hum or the version in Live Aid
Van halen solo tokyo dome 😜
This song is about how certain street names represented Catholic or Protestant homes. Always friction. Streets with no names is what he wished for,
Bono wrote it after a trip to Africa
Great song and reaction but I prefer the live version from the „Rattle and Hum tour“ in 1987 - Sun Devil Stadium
Live versions of the song are far more superior. The album version sounds like a demo, a rough sketch if you comparing. Their number one song of all time.
come on guys. Queen released a new song for freddie mercury. we need to see your reaction on it
New Years Day
