What Alan Schilke and RMC did to Mean Streak is nothing short of incredible. They squeezed every little bit of potential out of it. Just amazing.
Indeed. They took it from zero to hero and made it a world-class and perhaps the world's best roller coaster. In terms of pure design, it is an architectural marvel.
I love how Steel Vengeance has the same broad brush layout.
Obviously steel vengeance is a significantly better and more fun ride, I personally like it even more than Maverick. But asking the ride operator on slow days to let you ride mean streak with the trim brakes turned off was a different kind of wild ride lol. Not wild as in 90 degree drops and crazy inversions like steel vengeance. Wild as in you just try to survive the ride without breaking your back lol
holy shit, I didn't even know you could do that.
The ride operators were able to turn the trim breaks off that’s crazy
@@jaimelannister1797 That sounds like before many of today's safety precautions were put in place. The world of roller coasters is significantly more regulated as lawsuits and scrutiny has continued to grow. The Son of Beast practically cemented that requirement with its infamous reputation. And looking at old school coasters, Corkscrew would not get cleared in this day and age given how its track is practically an arm's length away from crowds.
Mean streak did suck but let’s not forgot what it did to make us steel vengeance
1:05, SteVe goin' crazy while MS is struggling to make over the MCBR.
