Help create them. Kids these days don't get to learn stuff about being men the way we used to. Gotta be patient with them and teach them things about manliness. I always take the young guys under my wing at work. If you treat them right they will be so eager to learn they won't even notice you are guiding them

Cy is such a cool guy, so many stories and with character to spare! We're so lucky that Scot, Nate, and Cy are able to record things like this for future generations.
I've only met one person who might be on par with Cy. His name is Mr. Shields, he's a WWII veteran who was there storming Omaha beach on D-Day and now he owns a small farm, maybe homestead would be a better word, in northern California. He's a quiet one, but once he starts talking the stories are incredible!

Cut, you are the man. I had an uncle in my youth. His name was Uncle Ben. One of my grandsons has carried on his name. He was a rancher in central nebraska. Tough as nails and kind when he thought he might be overdoing his inpatient. I learned so much from him and Sir, you remind me so much of him. And thanks for that memory. You are a very special man. I cannot at this time afford one of the knives but I will be saving my money and I want to get one just to display and tell all my friends who it came from.

How great to have this video record. My daughter once took my parents to the city park where they met and began dating. She had them sit in the swings in the park and they told the story of how they met and how things progressed to their marriage. Things were much different back then. My grandparents made them wait until they were 21 before they were allowed to get married. Times were hard back then. America just came out of the depression years and then along came the 2nd world war. I am so grateful to have that video record of my parents. My Dad was a story teller and much of every story he told was true as we have since proven by searching old newspapers the stories really did happen. Young people today can't imagine a time when there was no TV and maybe all you had was a radio. Things like circuses were a big deal back then as people were hungry for some form of entertainment. When the new models of cars came out in the fall, there were dealers who would put on shows that featured strong men or some sort of magic tricks to get people to look at the new cars. Thanks for this great video.

I have been making jerky for 40 years, just hang it up where it's cool. First dunk the meat in white vinegar then salt and spice it before hanging it up. Vinegar keeps the flies and bugs away. You don't taste the vinegar in the jerky it dries away.

I would like to thank you sir for the great tips & tricks out of the wealth of knowledge you hold. I'm from New Zealand and as far as building is concerned it is similar to the way it's done over there.
Basements aren't common here although I like the idea of one if done in the right way, it would come in handy for the junk I mean stuff the wife brings home. Also attics are another not so common addition although we don't have the steep pitch because of heavy snow fall.
I consider myself a bit of a handyman, I know how to frame a simple wall, throw some plaster board up, gib stop, put the coving up (confusing at first), build a fence, lay concrete. I even built a couple of sleepouts for the older kids, love to send you a photo. All self taught through out the years of owning a home.
But through watching your videos on the tube I must say I've certainly picked up some easier ways to do things. So please keep uploading those videos that I'm sure help a lot of people get the confidence to have a go. What a great idea to video from start to finish the spec house, I am about half way through, learning a heap. Thank you once more sir.

Cry is one of the most fascinating men I have ever listened to.
He’s absolutely right about the ratio of deer to mountain lions. About 10 years ago 5 toms were taken within a 10 mile radius of our family ranch. Deer were scarce then. Last night I counted 30 mule deer out grazing on my way home.
