This is where I finished my US Navy Apprenticeship Program as a Machinist Marine. I have learned a lot from this program and lots of Filipinos gained experienced thru proper training.
Thanks for sharing this great video. I was a Subic Bay Sailor onboard the USS NIAGARA FALLS-AFS-3 FROM 89-92. PO CITY was our second home when not in Guam M. I lived on fendler street East Tapinac and on Kessing street with my Honey Ko. A good decent walk from the main gate. Those were the day long ago. Now just a memory.
As a U.S. Navy veteran, I have fond memories of Subic Bay and Olongapo in 1974-75,. Being stationed on a ship out of Yokosuka, Japan, I visited Subic over 20 times. The last time I was there was late May 1975, where I participated in helping South Vietnamese refugees who had escaped South Vietnam in the closing days of the Vietnam War. I hope to return someday in the future with my Filipina girlfriend and hopefully future wife to visit the base again, especially Grande Island, the site where I helped many people. I was only 18 years old at the time.
sorry to be off topic but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an instagram account? I somehow lost my password. I love any assistance you can offer me.
Was there 3x's in '67, stood on the big guns out at Fort Wint on Grande Island just before they were removed and relocated to Fort Casey on Whidbey Island in Washington State. Hard for me to believe that was over a half century ago. That area has been through a lot in the last 100+ years, wish them and the whole country the best.
A lot of Filipino apprentices graduated on this program at USNSRF and nearly every year around 100 tradesmen of different trades graduated until some smart politicians get rid the Base. When Naval Base still present on that place never heard of Chinese maltreating our Fishermen, Thanks again from our smart and very honorable politicians you ruined everything...

In the news The U.S. Plans to Reopen Subic Bay Naval Station in 11 to 12 months so by June 2021 it should be up and running again.
