Hey Emma! I love your video’s they always cheer me up. They emit that same “nostalgia for a place you’ve never been before” that Ghibli movies do. Really charming.
There’s a really cool Cornish/welsh word hireth/hiraeth which means nostalgia for a time or a place, almost a homesickness, even if you’ve never been to that place or that place doesn’t really exist how you imagine it to.
I just love your sweet innocent kind and positive personnality. Our world needs more people like this. Your are so beautiful inside and out. Hug from France 🌻🌻🌻😘😘😘
Having a sick day but uni work is piling up, so I'm trying to get through what I can with regular breaks. This popping up in my subscription box made me so happy!
Ahhh good luck! Working when you’re sick is the worst 😣 I hope you can get through it and your brain can function ok! I always feel like my brain is all over the place when I’m ill
Tokidoki Traveller thank you! I don’t get sick that often luckily so I’m just gonna be careful and work extra hard once I’m back to normal ❤️ your travel vlogs & DITL videos are always really calming and fun to watch, hope you’re well & enjoying life!
Honestly Emma, I hope you know How much we appreciate you. You could make 1 video a year and I would still be happy to just watch that one video. Every time I start one of your videos (except the more serious ones) I have a smile from start to end. I hope one day if I ever save up enough money that I can meet you in Japan and thank you in person for bringing me joy.
Loved the nature and the views! Your enthusiasim is both contagious and innocent so one gets really easily transported to different places with you. So thank you! As a side note: As a Finn I have to mention that the log cabin you stayed in looked a lot like a Finnish log cabin. The style, the wood finishes and all the fittings in the windows and doors are Finnish style. And there are quite a few Finnish companies selling log cabins to Japan. Purely fyi. Edit: checked the hotel website and turns out first hunches are usually correct as they were now.😁
Emma - your videos are so awesome and creative! I am always looking forward to what’s next but this one is such a treat...I really want to visit Japan...
we have hascap in Canada!! They're great they're like a blob of a berry, kind of like long blueberries, I don't even know how to best describe them but I love them so much so tasty!! I didn't know they grew in Japan too!
I dont mean to be so offtopic but does anybody know of a way to get back into an Instagram account? I was stupid lost the login password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me!
Can you imagine if you camea cross the military jet pilot as you went to your gate? lol! I really enjoyed seeing the traditional buildings and beautiful nature :)
Great video. More like this. I've watched you for 2 years. Greetings from Minnesota, USA. Have you ever taken long walks thru Japan? I've been watching people walk the Pacific Crest Trail and the Appalachian Trail in the US. It really got me addicted to that stuff.
@@TokidokiTraveller that's so sad. hopefully this will change over the years. where I live is a lot of plastic wrapping too, but Japan seems to be on another level
@wes what???!! According to the UN, Japan produces more plastic packaging waste per capita than any other country except the United States!!! Source: www.theguardian.com/world/2019/jun/27/japans-plastic-problem-tokyo-spearheads-push-at-g20-to-tackle-waste And the Internet is full of more information. Its a well known problem!!
I really enjoy your videos. This one amused me so much; As you set out for the hike an advertisement came up for pajamas haha. I guess youtube wants to discourage like behavior. Love place and video, though!
Nice log cabin! Do you prepay to get the fridge stocked up or is it like the mini fridge in hotel rooms that you pay for what you took? If so, how does that work with sharing it with another room? I feel like that would only work in a very polite and honest country :-)
the reason why the Japanese call Mutton after Genghis Kan is in prewar Japan 1918 there was a government program to increase the number of sheep for wool production and meant production but lamb and mutton was not popular and so most of the farms were discontinued except for the ones in Hokkaido, lamb was widely thought to be the meat of choice among Mongolian soldiers, Jingisukan (ジンギスカン) is a Japanese grilled mutton dish prepared on a convex metal skillet or another grill, and the dome-shaped skillet is meant to represent the soldiers’ helmets that they purportedly used to cook their food in. So Lamb and Mutton was coequally called Genghis Khan in Hokkaido and the name stuck.
According to what Ive learned from Abroad in Japan in his 48 Hours in Sapporo video, people just associated mutton with Gengis Kahn. No real reason otherwise. He also says that Hokkaido is one of the few places in Japan where sheep are raised.

Wah thank you 😭 I know the feeling you’re talking about! I need to watch some ghibli movies it’s been sooo long
Couldn't agree more! You put it into perfect words
Oh my god same 😂😩
Oh my! This is exactly the feeling I get from Emma's videos! I am glad you put it into words

It was fun to watch Sharlas and then your video about Hokkaido! Two different perspectives about the same place at the same time. :D
Thank you for watching both 😄 I haven’t had the chance to watch Sharla’s yet but I’m keen to see it!
14:26 “ *Insert Your name song* “
Ahhh can’t get enough of Japan’s beautiful landscapes... breathtaking!
I really want to thank you for your videos!! They put me at ease and really help me when i feel anxious... ♥️

Watching your videos really makes the day's stress melt away.
I love Hokkaido 北海道!!!!
It’s like Canada (to me). Food is great (veggies, seafood, milk, you name it!).
And all the space lol

Yeah! Fellow Finn here, and that cabin looked exactly like my grandmothers. It was odd seeing something so familiar in Japan.
Loving the soft lavish breakfast description 🤣😂😁
A new video to cheer me up during my job hunt ❤
Good luck! Sending good vibes :D
Best of luck for your job hunt!
Same here! Good luck dude!
@@izzykate1806 Thank you ❤
@@emmy-4164 Thanks 😭❤
I've been there before. The food is scrumptious, the scenery stunning and people nice. I wish I could be there soon.
Lol! Absolutely laughed so hard at that motorcycle switch 😂 and then “oh wow, that baby is SAAAD! oooo look at these little carrots 🥕 “
I don’t know why but when you said “and that baby is SAD” I just burst out giggling
Emma - your videos are so awesome and creative! I am always looking forward to what’s next but this one is such a treat...I really want to visit Japan...
Loved your video as well as Sharla's. Thank you for sharing more about Ibaraki - it looks so lovely there!
Thank you! I really love Ibaraki, was so happy we got the chance this time to travel to both Ibaraki and Hokkaido! Two very great places 👍🏻

Aaaahhhh thank you for this video!!!!! That mountain view was amazing and the grill place was so cute!!!!
The pianoooo😂😅

@Darius Damian Instablaster =)
You have the best vlogs and edit amazing. This was very enjoyable. I wish ud do more. Xo💚🌼
I don't know if it's because I'm watching this at 3am, but that "half a lamp" part has me crying in laughter
There's no food more nostalgic to me than the good old sausage-in-bread. It must the be cheapest sausages and the whitest bread too.
"Why would you want garlic that doesn't smell?"
He knows what's up.
This is one of my fav Emma !! Please keep it up
Nice to hear the semi's (cicadas) that takes me back ☺️
I loved the video!! It was so beautiful and yes that was a very sad baby xD
My grandparents came from Hokaido after WW2. I want so much to visit there!
Hokkaido is so underrated. Went for the annual snow fes
Y'all go to the neatest places. I would love it here.
I had just seen Sharla's vlog and had to come to see yours too!! Such beautiful views of nature! I loved the cabin you were staying in too.
I thumbs up your videos before I even watch because I know I'm going to love it. Thanks for being you
Can you imagine if you camea cross the military jet pilot as you went to your gate? lol! I really enjoyed seeing the traditional buildings and beautiful nature :)
The breakfast in the hall could be ASMR, and nice Norm scene transition Emma lol
The zip line looked fun, and Sharla giggling sounded good
These are my favourite type of videos of yours
That switch on the bike though 😂😂😂
"And that baby is SAAAD"
I lol'd
Haha! That explosion was so Chris...
As an Australian, I like how you felt the need to specify that they were white swans XD
lmao the power switch followed by "long boy" I lost it bahaha
Really enjoyed this clip.
So funny that you were driven to breakfast! And that you didn't really know what the day would bring :). Now I want to go to Hokkaido!

7:20 actually made me lol XD
all the vegetables covered in plastic packaging 😩😩😩
I know, it is a big problem in Japan. It is very difficult to buy vegetables without plastic wrapping here

Hi Brennan from New Zealand! :D Good to see NZ faces, even if I definitely haven't met you in my life. (I am a Kiwi too).
04:34 - breakfast comes with your very own Butler

luckily this hokkaido video isnt cursed, unlike the previous one lol
Best. Explosion. Ever.
love the Jurassic Park hat!
intro makes a good ring tone
lmao when you pushed the button on the bike xD
I saw the gengis khan mutton explanation in Chris B's vids. Something about the japanese associating mongolians with lamb
I think calling it Chinggis Khan might be a reference to Mongols having lots of sheep and eating mutton a lot.
If I go can Brennan take me up the mountain 😉 great vlog!!
Thank you very cool 🙌🙏😇
6:47 is that a Montreal's Canadiens shirt hung in the back? (Hockey team)
9:13 Emma! G R A P E B E R R Y.... XD
nThe best way to wake up is waking up to a new video from you :>
Can you please tell me who plays that music in your closing video? Thanks
Blape or grueberry 🤣🤣🤣

Is that the suitcase the guys got you in the tokyo creative challenge? 😆
0:47 A cow/plane hybrid? Oh Japan...
You are just like Sharla but with an Aussie accent and big glasses. 😊✌❤🙏
The wooden motorbike could replace wooden rocking chairs on front porches. Imagine that lol
3:27 They have German tea in Japan? Interesting.
7:30 picking up a massive eggplant for some fun later. I guess Emma's into the tall boys 😏😄
Tokidoki!!!
It’s cute how you always say ‘yeah’ three times.
Yes
Good video Emma
The log is cool because it looks like your in America lol I want to go there now 😂 💫
hmmmmmm i wanna live in a little cottage hut right on the edge of that lil river
Drinking game: Take a shot everytime you hear "Hokkaido"
Are you still in japan?
More EXPLOSION
Your hair is very pretty in this video
Did you catch your flight??😮
I read it as "slaying" but I guess that works too.
What anime movies that you prefer to watch in Japanese to buy?
Honeysuckles are very fragrant flowers.
lol, this Cabin looks like it belongs inside a Wes Anderson film.
His riders would put the tougher cut of meat under their saddles and as his empire rode they were actually tenderizing their meat.
