I gotta say that therapy with the 780g started out great and the pump and supplies that came with the unit is great for what I need it for... unfortunately I'm out of supplies and have been for the past few weeks... I've put in reorders and tried to make payments but failed to prevail...now I'm afraid i won't be able to return back to work for another 3-6mnths or how ever long it takes for this to clear...very fustrating
Ive used Medtronics pumps for 20+ years I wish I could give a review about the 780G but in 6 weeks all they have sent me is the pump. My reservoirs and insets and tubing are on back order for 5 weeks as are my sensor and sensor charger. This kind of has me worried if , 1 they will come before Christmas and 2 I'm leery about auto supply auto orders.
I have been faithful since 2018 going to Dr. every 3 months. Medtronic told me my C-Peptide was too high. Well in the beginning it was 1.8. I had 2 strokes because of diabetes. Mayo clinic put me on the on the insulin pump. I have been taking good care of my health. Lost tons of weight. So because I am taking care of myself doesn't mean I am not a diabetic now. I do not want to have more strokes so the pump and supplies are not covered by Medicare. They do cover the insulin. It just wows me about the supplies not getting covered now according to Medtronic.
I was reluctant to change from Dexcom6 and Omnipod5 combo...But when I change my T1D therapy from a civilian Endo to the VA taking on all my needs...I had my concerns. But it worked out well and the 780g is an excellent Diabetes Therapy option if it is available to you. Stay Encouraged Community!
I just upgraded to the 780G-Guardian 4. Has anyone had issues with Medicare approving this device? Medtronic told me that they have been denied, but last July, their CEO indicated that all was approved with Medicare. Please help me! Thanks so much!
Me too. Having trouble with Medicare also. Medtronic is billing me for $2000.00 because Medicare will not pay. I am on hold with Medtronic for getting supplies due to the money. This is absolutely ridiculous. I was fine on the old 630G pump and then upgraded to the 780G. I have been a diabetic since 2018. I just recently (2024) went on Medicare. My prior insurance paid everything.
@@CBC683 So sorry to hear about this. Are your endocrinologist's visits up to date? Medicare requires constant doctor visit reports. I sent my most recent Endo notes to Medtronic as they will then send to Medicare. Please advise if I can assist in any way. Thanks!
@@markk.5637 Thank you so much. I am going to see my Endo tomorrow. 6-24-24. I have got to get this resolved. You have given me so much hope. Please stay in touch if possible.
I wish they would force pump makes to make their insulin pumps work with all CGM sensors. I like using the Freestyle libre 3 over medtronic Guardian 3 sensors. So I pay for the Libre 3 sensor while using the Guardian 3 which sucks in my opinion. All due to Medtronic wanting you to use their crappy inaccurate sensors.
@@TomHoffmanJr Yes I agree the Guardian 4 is way better than the Guardian 3. I am still wearing a Freestyle Libre sensor and the Guardian 4 is close enough not to be a problem.
Yes, I totally agree ! Specially, since the guardian for Hardware is on back order! Yes, they sent out a very lame letter, one paragraph stating it’s a shipping snafu and then the next paragraph they indicate it is a production issue, and they are doubling manufacturing capabilities! Which one is it guys? Obviously from these comments about back order product is not uncommon! Why is that just be upfront with your users? we think your product is great for me. It is change my life, but when I can’t depend on you, that’s a problem! You have kind of thrown us under the bus with a lame letter! That is shameful
@bayoubuttlips Plus, now I found out that the Sensor 4 is actually the Sensor 3. They just repackaged it. Another problem that we have, at least here in America, is the delay in being approved. They have been using this new version in Europe for a few years now and America gets left behind paying for it. They had a lot of Sensor 3's in stock, so instead of losing product and money, they relabled the 3. Oh, they'll tell you everything else, but..
Io invece trovo incredibile che non posso avere gli aghi che durano 7 giorni perché faccio troppa insulina non mi sembra neanche giusto le cose devono essere uguali per tutti
I’ve been on the 780G for about two weeks. It is absolutely brilliant. Great system!
Hey i habe a question. Is it possible so give a bolus through the app or do you have to do it on the pump?
I find it very difficult to put on my arm using one arm. Difficult when you are by yourself.
It's ridiculous that people in other countries have been able to get it sooner than those of us in the USA when it's an American company!

I wished the 780G would have been approved in the US earlier. before my patients started to have diabetic retinopathy, diabetic nephropathy and CAD.,
Can't wait to get the mini med 780g
I've been using the 780G in Australia for a year now. Guardian 4 sensor has been released here in the last month.

Using the Guardian 4 since June and verifying once in a while it is a big improvement over the guardian 3. Their sensor doesn’t suck.

Getting my 780g on Monday
Do you need a compatible phone for the minimed 780 g to work?
Yes. An app is required before starting to use the 780G
It is compatible with Android and Apple smartphones. Presumably you have one of those?
Eh?
The Simplera is the one that should be used now, especially with the 780g. The Sensors 3 and 4 are so outdated and are impractical.
