Great show. I stopped caring much about diabetes this year, and my glucose and weight reflect that. But I didn't know about all those technology updates. Very helpful to remain in the loop. Thank you for asking about the twiist algorithm update. I would love to use the twiist but the fact that it doesn't work on android yet and that they use the old version of the algorithm holds me back. Hopefully we will see updates by this time next year or at least progress in this space.

Ketone monitors are useful when fasting. I used it during Ramadan and the market for that is significant

I can't exactly describe what I love about Dr. Ahn (probably because he is so into technology but describes everything in a way that us non-techies can understand), but I really like listening to him. I look forward to your next discussion with him, even if it may be in another year or so.

I was told about national guard state guard is possible. With type 1 which is a state guard level for any level of national guard/state guard non deployment personnel.

I can understand that maybe there's important interaction between beta cells, alpha cells and delta cells inside an islet that are not yet fully understood. But why are they saying glucagon production is restored, when alpha cells don't get destroyed? Glucagon is released just fine by our bodies, so long as the pancreas is not really harmed (ie. pancreatitis, Type 3c). The excess injected insulin seems to overpower the ability to compensate in those situations.

That Insujet thing was avaialbe under a different name 35 or 40 years ago. It was a complete failure. When she read the marketing material that said “better absorption” I laughed out loud. The insulin would bubble up under the skin and go nowhere. It really is weird how the same “game changers” keep getting recycled for decades. They have been talking about encapsulating and transplanting beta cells for just as long.

All in for Insujet! It’s gonna change diabetes and become and new major player in my opinion! Love the potential of this company for both what it can do and what it can offer as what I feel as a strong up and coming stock!

Instead of Insulin craziness, you should also think if USA women & mothers could be feeding their children with excessive foods. Or may be white European Immigrants' genes are messed up & doomed getting T1 Diabetes. May be Jesus want white genes to be wipped up with nature force of type 1 diabetes?

After haveing low bloodsugers 4 or 5 hours after my pre bed snack nearly every night for a month strate, i think smart guard is trying to kill me.

I just got it and it is totally awesome! I'm hooked. Much more accurate than Dexcom & Libre especially when my levels are low an no more day 1's the entire year - Yahoo!!!

I dont think the stelo will tell you how low your glucose is. It stops at 70. It is made for people thay do not go low I think.

The biggest problem with Stelo is that there is nobody supporting the product Dexcom has rolled out this product but they don't have any infrastructure in place to support it if there are any issues or questions. All they provide is a Bot on the Stelo website that creates a case but never gets back to you. You can't contact anybody. Dexcom customer service refuses to assist any Stelo requests. Very poor launch. All Stelo youtube videos have comments turned off and contact information on Facebook is Dexcom and they refuse to help Stelo questions and Issues.

The Stelo app is incompatible with Android 15 causing problems with sensor pairing. My last sensor expires in 2 days. I have placed my sensor reorder on hold with no idea when the app will be fixed. Stelo customer service is non-existent.

Are there any diabetes psychiatrists in Pennsylvania?

I take care of a type 1d special needs guywho wears a Dexcom & omnipod 5. What suggestions do you have because the Omni gets changed every 3 days, cgm every 10 days. We wear them both on the same arm. Because they come due to change on different days we will run short on dexcom if we change it a day early to keep up with the pod placement. Does this make sense??? What do other people do? He is so thin & can only wear it on upper arms.

Thank you for this interview with Dr. Alonzo. His perspective is refreshingly flexible and understanding with regard to the mental health challenges of living with T1D. I especially appreciated the section from 11:45 - 17:25. “Big picture goal,” “Don’t have to win the A1c sweepstakes,” “We can soften our attention to diabetes in a safe way so you can live the happy life that we are actually shooting for.” After 46 years with T1D, I can attest to how rare this attitude used to be. I am glad I've lived long enough to see the change in approach.

DO NOT RECOMMEND. First sensor wildly inaccurate, second sensor died after one day and multiple sensor issues, and no customer service contact number so if you can't get help or have trouble logging on, you're out of luck. Just canceled my subscription.

2 weeks into Stelo. Very educational. I will probably keep using it to keep my glucose in range so I can get to normal from prediabetes. Watching my daughter deal with type 1 means I am very motivated.
