@@synthesauriov3195 No, they won't. TE knows their user base is stupid. Users will buy next product without question and TE will keep jacking up prices. It's literal overpriced toys for hipsters.
Would be nice to get a few of these synths on a OP1f update. I prefer the tape workflow, so I think the XY misses me. If they're no longer updating the OP1f, it's a bit of a red flag for anybody interested in the XY.
i just stopped the video to congratulate you guys for that awesome intro, its cool to see someone doing something beyond than just sitting and recording gear from top view with some fancy deco around and that,s all.
At $2300 this would never be leaving my studio let alone throwing it in my backpack for a jam session in the forest lol. Also, I have to say that as an op1 and a KO2 owner I have had build quality issues. My op1 now has 3 dead keys which can not be repaired and the KO2 had fader issues. I know opZ owners have had their share of build quality issues. TE had better got it right with the build on this XY or i can see some pretty upset buyers.
Love the intro! As an 0p-1F owner, I had to pause the walkthru a few times just to huff a little to myself. Great looking device, super jealous of the song/arrangement mode, 8 tracks, and BRAIN MODE! Sigh...
Looks like a wonderful device, just makes me wonder why the hell I even bought an op-1 field. Hope the op-1 field still receives some love and updates after this
@@d3tuned378 Both are great devices. I don't get the hate for the cost, I wish they were more affordable as well, but that's what it. I've used the OP-1 field in several gigs and for composing music, so to me it's worth it.
I mean, I really feel like TE can implement all lot of the arrangement / sequencing into the OP-1 Feild lol. It’s software at the end of the day. The tape feature is cool, but just doesn’t need to main feature.
Spoiler alert this does way more than the Peak. Peak has no sequencer. 16 voice polyphony. This has 24…. I get what you are saying but the peak is also not very small. This you can take anywhere you want with ease. As a synth player myself I’d choose a peak over this because I already have many other tools that do way more than this. But at the end of the day it has a market and the comparison you made makes no sense. People will buy this.

fantastic video, perfect ! wish I had the time to learn it, though your demo showed very well how to use...... I am going to have to search for videos on just the terminology of the musical terms you used and effect terms, and so much. I have used Adobe Premier for over 30 years or so, but have no clue as to how to use the sound effect other then volume and basic equalizer.
This is nothing but a status symbol and to be honest most folks are waking up to the fact they have been manipulated and sold out by trend setters on youtube making things appear way better than they actually are. I think people are less concerned about what the thing does and more concerned about spending over 2k on something that has the same substandard build quality using the same failure prone components as everything else they have made.
TE used to claim their shitty bleep bloop boxes were shitty on purpose because limitation breeds creativity. Now we can see they have completely lost the thread and just want to charge you $2000 for $10 worth of keyboard parts. It’s sad to see, but it also couldn’t have happened to bigger scumbags.
TE are alienating even more musicians with this one, they clearly need to lean into more budget options. The EP-133 was a tremendous success, because people could actually afford it. A budget OP-1 would be a huge hit, something in-between the price of the OP-Z and the original OP-1 would be excellent.
not for me, got the op-1 a decade ago and learned my lesson two i/o boards later. Also $2300? yikes. It sounds like a toy, but it looks good like most of the TE stuff.
I paid 800 for my OG OP-1 in 2014. At the time I bought it, I felt it was overpriced. Now I think that is exactly what the OP’s should be sold for. 800 is fair anymore is like wtf? Might as well buy a beautiful analog Moog vs current OP prices.
There are so many more grooveboxes just as capable and portable and far less expensive. Please don’t buy this flashy wolf in sheep’s clothing, spend your money wisely if you want to just make music (or just give in to your TE fanboy collection.) Identify the aspects that you like about this machine and find an alternative, there are plenty of more powerful synths, drum machines, sequencers, arrangers, etc. And what’s with the wack synth engines? They sound terrible! TE really should not be selling this under qualified groove box at this price. For $2,300 it should be bigger and more capable, with clearly labeled controls. They continue to disappoint. I really encourage everyone to look into alternatives.
Are you kidding? This is LITERALLY op-z with screen, more memory and aluminum case. It has NOTHING new compared with original op-z. As i can see TE now is not about music, it is about money.
Absolutely worth the money, but also a good reminder that unless you need it in your workflow and can afford it easily, you probably don't actually NEED it.
