So many guides only talk about end game gameplay and rotations. The fact you include the complete experience from literally level 1 and even add rotations for certain milestones is just so incredibly helpful for newer players like myself. It makes learning the jobs so much easier, too, just awesome. Thank you so much!

That's what I want people to avoid. The ping issues can be rough but they aren't at all important in the grand scheme. Are you taking care of your hands though? THAT is important.

Very helpful tutorial, I wasn't aware of some of the skill interactions. Mechanicon has always been my favourite job because of the flips. Now I can do more damage while still admiring the acrobatics.

This is on YT's side since on the pre-publishing window, it showed the ENTIRE video having them before just, removing the latter half when published. No idea what, why, how... point is I finally figured out a way to give people subtitles consistently but YT refuses to work. So PLEASE tell me if it breaks again.
Just started watching your videos about 1-90 for each job and I'm already a fan man. In this vid when you mentioned "Curving the Bullet", that was the exact same thought I had when I first got MCH to that level and saw the animation for Heated Slug Shot. All the scenes from "Wanted" popped in my head!!! Used your guides to Learn a few jobs already and make openers for them.. also keep going back to them throughout the leveling process for pointers.. Keep up the awesome work!
Your videos have helped me so much when I was getting through Endwalker as DRK and now that I’m expanding to other jobs they help tremendously with understanding them, I always return whenever I take breaks from 14 and need a refresher on what I was playing or if I take on a new role, thank you!!
I felt like I may have been doing my opener wrongishly by not using hypercharge heat blast…my opener is Reassemble, wildfire, chainsaw, gauss&ricochet, reassemble, air anchor, gauss&ricochet, drill, gauss&ricochet, then the 1,2,3 combo. Is there any merit to this or does it need to be improved? I’m open to any and all suggestions.

Update 6.2 has some MAJOR changes to the Rook Autoturret and Queen, so much so that the information in the video is outright the opposite of what it does now. They both increase in attack potency instead of duration with full Battery Guage, and have a set duration.
My thoughts on some changes: Flamethrower: (gets a name change) now for 15 seconds, the next 5 weapon skills give an additional 10 heat. Barrel stabilizer: gives 25 heat and 25 battery. (Can be used out of combat) A new trait: When you activate your turret/queen you give a party wide shield that varies based off of the battery charge used. Wildfire: changes to a napalm that simply adds vulnerability to the target for 15 seconds. (2 minute cooldown) (similar to the new mug ability)
Side note: the only reason why barrel stabilizer was changed was for the simple fact of balancing potentially to much heat generation if Flamethrower was changed.
Sw in the desc about the 6.25 change. Autoturret having a fixed length on paper is just a QoL, same potency per second and all that. But it fits better under buffs so it's a buff overall. Just gotta summon it slightly earlier than buff windows.

I haven’t used machinist much, I’m either playing reaper or warrior but my lordy machinist is still so fun I need to get practice in regards to the bursting with wildfire active so I’ve tried to layout hotbar as easy for me as possible
When playing MCH, I pretty much use flamethrower on cooldown when doing packs, it's such a nice small break to stretch/relax my hands from otherwise such a busy job.
I just found out that my ping miraculously disallows me to use heat blast 5 times while also using gauss and ricochet. So much for me playing machinist. 😅
I like flamethrower. It's got a neat animation and it's like the only skill a Machinist can use in town. That said, it doesn't seem to be that worth it in combat. In my limited experience anyway. It does damage, but you get about the same amount of damage with spread shot, and you can reassemble Spreadshot for more damage. I'm probably missing something.

Due to there not being really a rotation to it. Its a priority thing of just "throw the highest damage stuff available out" Basically, anything AoE with a cooldown timer is better than your basic AoE attack. Including Auto-Crossbow
So just curious, but why are we opening with Reassemble + Air Anchor instead of delaying them 1-2 GCDs to fit them inside party buffs? This way of doing it seems to be the case for basically all other jobs' openers, where we don't dump all of our hard hitters immediately to start the cooldown earlier, so why is it not so for Misandrist?
Because you can't, because you would need to delay 3-4 GCDs, which also means Reassemble isn't on cooldown. We also already have the party buff window extremely full, we wouldn't even fit it in.
Why not weave in another gauss and ricochet in the heated split shot? I don't think you understand the difference between GCDs and oGCDs. oGCDs do not activate the GCD - that being Global Cooldown. Split Shot is a GCD. Gauss Round and Ricochet are not. Further, Drill IS a GCD. So putting Split Shot there, you'd delay Drill to your 3rd GCD instead of second.

@@LiZzZzZArDDDD No, because GCD is 2.5 seconds. During the GCD you can use two oGCD skills. You can see in the video too. During those attacks, the GCD is still running. And then I use Drill.
MCH feels....incomplete. When doing AoE pulls, overheating into crossbow is 280 extra potency on targets, for 5 button presses in 7.5s vs being able to do 3, but it doesn't feel right for some reason. it feels wrong to use it, it feels like there should be something else alongside the extra potency considering what the single target path does. autoturret should reduce cooldown on ricochet by 20s, and gauss round by 10s, while heat blast reduces cooldown on gauss round by 20s, and ricochet by 10s. giving you an option to use or at least recharge both in a single target or an AoE situation. overheat should add a flat 20-30 potency boost to gauss round and ricochet while active. i think it'd be more...cohesive if overheated got 6 stacks instead of just 5, but there might be something I'm missing.
What doesn't make sense? It does damage, it's free, and free damage is good. If you don't, it just sits there. And when you look at Heat Blast, Heat Blast refreshes Ricochet. Heat Blast only gets used in ST, so obviously Richochet is expected by the Job design even.
Okay so like, when Overcharge is active at most I can get 5 blast. You can't get 5 blast off if you use both riccochet and Guass......can you?@@WeskAlber
@@CoolcatCammy You can, check the openers. Heat Blast refreshes the cooldowns of your oGCDs, and does so so much that you need to use Ricochet/Gauss between Blasts.
@@CoolcatCammy It takes practice, plenty of people do MCH on controller. Just put Heat Blast, Ricochet, and Gauss Round in the same area of the controller. Say, R2 + X, Square, and Circle.
It's a running joke alluding to how often people in the FFXIV community mispronounce "machinist" (for reference, he says it correctly @48:11). The most common mispronunciation you hear all the time is "mechanist" -- it doesn't help that "mechanist" is not only an actual word, but the name of a Guild Wars 2 profession among other things, so a lot of people just misread "machinist" as "mechanist".

I don't think you understand the difference between GCDs and oGCDs. oGCDs do not activate the GCD - that being Global Cooldown. Split Shot is a GCD. Gauss Round and Ricochet are not.
Further, Drill IS a GCD. So putting Split Shot there, you'd delay Drill to your 3rd GCD instead of second.

@@LiZzZzZArDDDD No, because GCD is 2.5 seconds. During the GCD you can use two oGCD skills.
You can see in the video too. During those attacks, the GCD is still running. And then I use Drill.

MCH feels....incomplete.
When doing AoE pulls, overheating into crossbow is 280 extra potency on targets, for 5 button presses in 7.5s vs being able to do 3, but it doesn't feel right for some reason. it feels wrong to use it, it feels like there should be something else alongside the extra potency considering what the single target path does.
autoturret should reduce cooldown on ricochet by 20s, and gauss round by 10s, while heat blast reduces cooldown on gauss round by 20s, and ricochet by 10s. giving you an option to use or at least recharge both in a single target or an AoE situation.
overheat should add a flat 20-30 potency boost to gauss round and ricochet while active. i think it'd be more...cohesive if overheated got 6 stacks instead of just 5, but there might be something I'm missing.

What doesn't make sense? It does damage, it's free, and free damage is good. If you don't, it just sits there. And when you look at Heat Blast, Heat Blast refreshes Ricochet. Heat Blast only gets used in ST, so obviously Richochet is expected by the Job design even.
Okay so like, when Overcharge is active at most I can get 5 blast. You can't get 5 blast off if you use both riccochet and Guass......can you?@@WeskAlber
@@CoolcatCammy You can, check the openers. Heat Blast refreshes the cooldowns of your oGCDs, and does so so much that you need to use Ricochet/Gauss between Blasts.

@@CoolcatCammy It takes practice, plenty of people do MCH on controller. Just put Heat Blast, Ricochet, and Gauss Round in the same area of the controller. Say, R2 + X, Square, and Circle.
Is the terminology in this guide a MCH thing? I kept having brain breaks when you would use a different term for MCH. LOL
It's a running joke alluding to how often people in the FFXIV community mispronounce "machinist" (for reference, he says it correctly @48:11). The most common mispronunciation you hear all the time is "mechanist" -- it doesn't help that "mechanist" is not only an actual word, but the name of a Guild Wars 2 profession among other things, so a lot of people just misread "machinist" as "mechanist".

Hey Wesk, it's me again. Currently i'm only 60 with this class and have everything up to it so far, but for the life of me i can't figure a way to squeeze 5 shots of heat blast in while trying to weave gauss round and ricochet. The best i get is 4. what am i doing wrong and how do i fix this?
Ping will play a big factor. Later on once you get 3 charges, it becomes less required to weave to prevent over-cap and may benefit you
