I'm 50 and I'm a big guy, 5'9", 350#'s. I'm glad someone FINALLY gives big guy's some perspective. I ride a 2014 YZ 250 that I got the suspension dialed in with stiffer spring's. Riding is freedom...
I'm 6'5 300 pounds. I've rode since I was little. Never have seen anyone do a review for bigger guys. Glad to see it. Like the newer bikes I just finished putting together and and registering my 96 xr400r for the street.
Same man, i'm 6'2'' 270 rn, i'm the biggest i've ever been but i grew up riding and i can still do it pretty decently. i hope to lose some soon so i can get better at riding again
I'm 6'2 and 225. Whenever I find my limitations on my bike I always feel like it's because I'm way too tall, and heavy on the bike. But these guys prove that isn't the case. Looks like I really just need to practice more and confront some fears.
Love this! Its nice to have some feedback from fellow big dudes. 6’4” 235lbs not really out of shape but still bigger than these bikes are designed for.
I'm right there with you. I'm 6'-4" also and for years I stayed right around 235 but over the last four or five years, I jumped to 255 which means that I weigh more than the bike nowadays. I've been into dirtbikes since '76 and this is the first test I've ever seen where bigger riders were the target. I hope they keep this up.
I think this was a great Idea for a shootout, I personally think shootouts should be with the actual target guys that are Buying these 10,000.00 dollar bikes good job Don M
What a great idea for a Shootout!! I'm a big 53 year old fat guy (6'1" & 330 lbs.) and I still like to ride. When I get on a bike it gives "suspension sag" a whole new meaning... How tight can we crank up this spring?? I certainly am not motocross star or enduro champion and I'm not jumping over houses or anything like that - But I like trail riding and having fun. The only thing that might have made this any better would be a few more big guys giving their opinion on the bikes?? Thank You guys for doing this and I hope to see more!! Maybe even a few tips on setting a bike up for us "Super Chunky" guys?? (-:
This is awesome. Thanks for putting out stuff like this. I'm 6ft2 and 220 no stock bike is setup correctly for my size. Having info like this is helpful
Love it man . I 6'4 and nearly 400 I haven't rode in years. But im looking to buy a new 450, even when I was riding regularly I was 300ish. Hate that fact that people think big dudes can't move and be athletic. I loved ripping tracks and dunes on my rm250. Love the video keep it up.
Finally a shootout that takes into consideration the tall vet and over 180lbs rider. This should have been done years ago and I hope that you continue to do these types of shootouts or at least include some members of this demographic group in shootouts going forward!
I'm 6'4", when I turned 21,weighed 175 lbs., had a '79 YZ 125 that I built to terrorize enduro, and did! Have multiple bad scars from high speed desert wrecks. Weigh 264 today (58 yrs. Old), love to go blast a golf course on that little rocket rototiller today!!
I was really excited when I saw the title of this video. Very well done and glad to see a video with a rider that is similar to me. Now we need a video with a Vet Beginner / Novice rider, haha (just do it for the views).
What a great idea for a test shootout. There's a huge market out there of riders who fit this mold. Keep em comin' Would love to hear more about bike set ups, suspension, mods, etc.
Add more cushion to the seat. A guy we ride with has a Drz with 2 sheepskin pelts one on top of the other strapped over the seat and a horse saddle gel pad under them. He’s a big guy and the gel + sheepskins work better than an airhawk which would probably burst lol
I love it.we need more of this.im a 270 lb rider.been riding for 40 years..wish there was a class .gota b heavier then th bike to race.lol.sumo class.have scales at sign up.
What do you ride. I want to get another dirt bike so bad. I'm 6ft over 300 pounds. I have it stuck in my head that I need to get a CR500 or KX500 for my size. Not sure if anything smaller will pull my ok. Not trying any type of motocross stuff. Just trail riding.
We need more of this! I’m a dirt bike enjoyer literally all motorcycle videos are dudes that are 5’8” and 170lbs. We need some tall dudes with the meats!

Damn right on that. Better yet, how bout offering a stiffer spring package on the bikes. Im 5’7” and 289lbs but i can ride my sons yz 450 faster than the suspension can handle. On faster stuff thats does not have big jumps i can smoke him and his younger friends. Sometimes in tighter stuff too.
@@ckryegrass11 Really getting tired of buying a bike and having to spend another $1500 on getting the suspension set for my weight. I'm the same as you and many I ride with are in the same boat.
