      I think a rare, but very reliable pattern (to the upside) it a stock that is hitting new lows and then does a breakout downward followed by an immediately breakout upward on above average volume.

    1. Good price action and volume 2X 5X 10X higher than 60day avg
    2. Must have strong News-Earnings-Catalyst is best if hot sector
    3. Avoid stocks that are NOT in a hot sector (Hot sector is currently COVID related)
    4. Avoid overnight trade if below VWAP near close
    5. Look for Breakouts on the 5yr, 1yr chart, Look for resistance on these charts that it must break to be a true break out.

    Very good point. I used to trade B/O’s but I get faked out more than anything (based on my back testing). Now I usually just wait for the breakout, then a dip 50% or lower and enter there. Better r/r for me.

    This filter makes sense because a long lower wick represents a bullish rejection of price. The odds of a bearish reversal happening at current prices are lower if lower prices have already been rejected by the market.

    I'm testing 20 bucks on day trade since I'm a really begginer. It's been 5 days that every bollean bottom hit I avoid to buy, bounces to upper bollean line within minutes. And every single bollean bottom hit I buy becomes a nose dive (6 ou 7 times IN A ROW already). I can't understand how unlucky I am. I'm avoinding to buy on those down lines because of the dips I already got. When I avoid, stock goes up. When I do not avoid and take the risk, the next up is lower than my buy point, causing hours to get that price back to make it even. It's so frustating

    Can you talk about what news are good and what news aren’t news worthy ?

  • @wealthlegend
    @wealthlegend 4 роки тому +1

    So does that mean if it spiked and consolidated, buyers are holding. and if it then drops and spiked again they just wanna break even in a 3-5 year period? Doesnt this indicates more in the volume rather than in the chart? And normally, the 3-5 year period would have a lot less volume than the day you wanna trade it

    • @Stockstotrade
      @Stockstotrade  4 роки тому +1

      So does that mean if it spiked and consolidated, buyers are holding. and if it then drops and spiked again they just wanna break even in a 3-5 year period?
      Correct, thats classic bagholder mentality.
      Doesnt this indicates more in the volume rather than in the chart?
      Not really failed breakouts happen because there is NOT enough volume to push through the breakout level. If there is huge volume higher likelihood it does breakout.
      And normally, the 3-5 year period would have a lot less volume than the day you wanna trade it
      Correct, like I mentioned in HUGE volume you get the break, low volume or average volume it most likely fails and you want to avoid, always always always look for unusual volume before you take the trade.

    Thanks StocktoTrade! The first four tips I understand. The last one I don't know if I actually understand it correctly. If it is possible, can someone direct me to a chart or several charts that visualise what Tim is explaining? Thanks.

    • @berrodude
      @berrodude 4 роки тому +1

      trust me, i don't know what I'm talking about (haven't made a real money trade yet) but what i understand from it, is large consolidation periods after a breakout means the next breakout is going to be a dupe because all the previous buyers are now looking to sell even, so while it looks like a good breakout, a lot of sellers will come out of the woodwork after holding stock since the last breakout and the price drops rather than breaking out as expected. Please correct me if I'm wrong @StocksToTrade

      The next step would be to mark some support and resistance lines on the chart, and we are good to go.
      You may have noticed 2 moving averages on my chart template working with your strategy. These are the 10 and 20 exponential moving averages used to ‘map out’ the mean value of price. The mean value area is where the market generally finds ‘value’. Mean value analysis is used heavily with our Forex trading system or strategy and it works very synergistic-ally with price action trading. i highly recommend Traders to get their own ebook from Lukasz Wilhelm and learn IQD Momentum strategy that covers one of the most powerful trading system in history.
