I just watched this video, bought an OBD2 scanner, found which ignition coil it was (4), bought the parts on this video, and installed it myself. Thank you SO MUCH for being so thorough and posting this.
Thank you so much for making this video. Very helpful!! Short and to the point. Thank you!!!!
Thanks. Best video instruction for Ignition Coil Replacement.
Just a word to the wise: I have worked extensively on both the Camry XLE and the Avalon XLS engines. #1-always disconnect the NEGATIVE battery terminal first; if you don't and accidentally touch your wrench handle to any metal parts on the underhood, you will get an unpleasant reaction you will not forget and probably do some damage to other parts. Also, when you replace one engine ignition module, do them all. The price of the spark modules at a local AZ is about what you can buy equal quality igniters AND spark plugs (the entire set) off Amazon for and the Amazon parts have held up for me now at 225K miles. I have been through this one at a time bullsh!t too many times, just bite the bullet and you'll be a happy man for it and at the same price as you would be for one.
Glad someone already pointed out the NEGATIVE terminal note.
Growing up on a farm, I IMMEDIATELY cringed, and had a double-take when I saw the positive terminal coming off first.
Its the sort of lesson you learn once, and hopefully that is enough.
This is awesome thank you sir! Could you show video of the back coil of how to get back there?
The video at 3 minutes and 22 seconds shows an electrical leak due to moisture. I have subscribed to your channel.
Life saver! Thank you so much 🙏
Thanks I hit your like button. Your good man.
I have question do you check this? I have coil D is bad how do I know where that is on the vehicle?
Life saver 🙏🏾
Those were the original coils at 231k miles?
So only code im getting is p0302 p0304 p0305 misfire in cylinder does that mean its my coils
Yes how can you tell which coil?
Thanks man
How do I get to 135 coils with that thing over top of them
So this is the same set up for a 2008 Avalon as well? coil 6 is upfront and does not need manifold removed
I believe you are correct!
If you are low on money, here is another coil that is very cheap and lasts a year, but can get you through if you can't spend the $55ish amount on the Denso sensor. Ignition Coil for Toyota - Avalon Camry ES350 Highlander IS350 RAV4 RX350 RX450h Sienna Venza - Compatible with C1601 Uf-487 amzn.to/4480AQT
I guess Im asking the wrong place but does anyone know of a trick to log back into an instagram account??
I somehow forgot my login password. I appreciate any help you can give me.
@Jasper Augustus Instablaster ;)
@Lachlan Khalid Thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and Im trying it out now.
I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Lachlan Khalid it did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thank you so much, you saved my ass :D
@Jasper Augustus No problem xD
What size sockets did you use on the battery terminal and then to remove the coil? I'm about to change a bad coil and I didn't see what size(s) had been used.
First thing the video said
Ignition coil 10mm socket
So if I have a p0351 code, which one is it talking about?
P0351>coil number(1)
P0352>coil number(2)
P0353>coil number(3)
P0354>coil number(4)
P0355>coil number(5)
P0356>coil number(6)
Good idea to replace all 6
If it's a single fault, replace a single coil. Only if it's an older Ford or the coils are already cheap aftermarket do you replace them all. Replacing parts unnecessarily, especially if going budget will typically lead to more problems and a waste of $.
Lucky it wasn't coil 1, would have added 3 hours to your job. Rear 3 spark plugs are a pain!
I had an ex mechanic who changed one in the front bank in 10 minutes. When I had one in the rear bank, he didn't even want to mess with it.
I have a 2008 Avalon. I was told I only need three coils
P0355 🙏
So what about the ones in the back? Coil #1. You should do a video for that too.
If you still need a video on the ones in the back please let me know.
Yes please
@@oostylz85 I will upload a video of it the moment i receive an avalon. Basically you will have to disconnect the air intake box and tube leading to the throttle body. Make sure you disconnect the MAF sensor and the thin breather hoses connected to it. You will have to unbolt the throttle body ( only unbolt it and move it to the side ) because the intake manifold is held by a 12mm bolt right behind the throttle body, on both sides driver and passenger side. Passenger side bolt is a little harder to get to but you can do it with a 1/4inch ratchet with a swivel head.Once you have those 2 12mm bolts removed proceed with the allen head bolts holding the intake manifold down in the center. You will see that the ones on both ends are 10mm nuts.Once you have those bolts off you can remove the intake manifold by going up with it. Once manifold is off the coils will be visible and accessible. Unplugging the injectors on the back side will give you more room to work with because you will be able to move the wires out of the way. For the last coil on the passenger side by the firewall you will need to loosen up the bracket sticking up so you can swing it back and remove the coil. Once you swap the sparks and coil make sure to put the bracket back in place and tighten it but not all the way because this is the bracket that the intake manifold will bolt on to later on. Make sure everything is connected and in place before you place back your intake manifold. Try to tighten the 12mm bolt that goes behind the throttle body first. The second 12mm on the passenger side second. Once those 12mm are in place go ahead with the allen heads and 10mm nuts. The rest should be simple just bolt back the throttle body and the tubes and the box and the breather tubes and hoses. When placing your intake back on you might as well change your intake manfiold gaskets and air filter if need be, also clean your air filter compartment. IF you have any questions please let me know.
What’s the link
Thanks for your clear and easy to understand video. Thank God I was also up for the F-coil and not for the ones in the rear. Took me maybe 10 min. Thanks again and keep up the good work. My coil was $100 after covid and Bideninflation.
How do you know which engine coil needs to be replaced?
Does the code reader say what valve it is?
P0301 Cylinder 1 -misfire detected
P0302 Cylinder 2 -misfire detected
P0303 Cylinder 3 -misfire detected
P0304 Cylinder 4 -misfire detected
P0305 Cylinder 5 -misfire detected
P0306 Cylinder 6 -misfire detected

Where is Coil D Located... Front or Back?
Is the one in the center of the front 3 coils
Is code P0352 coil number 2?
yes
ALWAYS DISCONNECT HOT CABLE FIRST N THEN NEGATIVE POST !!!?
I have a Toyota Avalon 2007. My code read ignition coil D. Can you let me know which number would be?
They place coil above the spark plug, eliminating the need for spark plug wires. The coil driver from the PCM comes with two wires; one for battery feed for power distribution center, and the other one for coil driver circuit from PCM. The PCM grounds or ungrounds the circuit to activate or deactivate the coil. The PCM monitors the coil driver for faults.
In the case of Error Code P0354, that means there’s an open or short detected in the driver circuit for coil number 4, or other issues in the ignition process of the coil pack. And depending on the vehicle, the PCM may also shut down the fuel injector to the cylinder.
Where is Coil D? Front or Back under side of Engine?
How do you find out which coil you’ll need to replace? Where or how do you get the error code for coil?
Use a engine code reader. A, B, C, D, E, F = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
Firewall
1, 3, 5 (Driver side ->)
2, 4, 6
Front of car
Where is D located front or back?
@@Created1st D is located on the front, it's number 4. 1, 3, 5 are in the back and 2, 4, 6 are in the front.
@@MissAlyssaDee I had the issue repaired and for my vehicle D was located in the back, so I went ahead and got them all replaced. It cost me a pretty penny, but the car is running well now
Densio? Where do you get "i" sound?
