What i admire mostly about you Nike is your patience, courage and determination. The hard work you put on fixing Karl through out your journey is amazing for a solo female sailer! Rarely you get to see a courageous solo female sailer doing some hard work on the boat learning along the way to fulfill such dream! Most men cant even think of doing what you do! good on you Nike. Keep up the good work, cant wait to see you crossing oceans with some action along the way. May you have fair winds and pleasant Seas, be safe cheers.
Such a joy this video! Was wonderful to see the San Blas Islands again, turquoise waters, and tropical skies. Certainly helps take my mind off refit projects and focus back on what it's all about (wind & waves, sun & rain, and the spirit of life!). Thanks Nike!
Just thinking back to how sad it was so long ago when you found Karl full of holes. Your adventure nearly ended before it really got started, and now look - fantastic!
Keep up the awesome informative UA-cam channel, beats the nonsense on Cable/Satellite TV. I Have a Chaparral 350 Signature, planning on getting a 45' or so Catamaran in about 2 years. I am learning a lot about life on Sail Boats, also the calm humanity in your work. Thank you again.
See if you can find a swivel for the top of the spinnaker ,you can also put a small extension line to the foot to get it out as far as you can because i see you dont have a snubber . That sail can get a bit finniky enjoy
Love your videos, I'm heading south down east coast of US next fall, everything sold, working till then to buy a few items for boat and gather some funds..no return trip planed. Wish your videos were a little longer, but it makes the week go by waiting for the next one. Keep having fun!
Nice to pull the sail out from under the bunk, and not find it moldy eh? ;-) I remember hanging towels out in Panama, only to have them more wet by the end of the day.
Hi I just think you are doing a good job sailing karl around, as it can be a bit daunting as am sure you know , but careful preparation is the key good luck.
Too much fun. The boat looks good. You look OK. Boat looks great- did I mention that's? Try saying Jennaker for Ghennaker and you might pass for a Canadian eh! I notice you are slowly working your way to the ultimate destination here in this big ass country where we have room for a few sailors like you and you wingman Karl. Beautiful coasts. Mountains. Pretty good beer. But take your time in the Pacific first. And let your parents know where you are or they will worry themselves sick. Enjoy the view. Canada
7.62 full metal hehe, I find up to thee beers enhancing for language skills, after that u think u totally got it figured out but really u r just babbling crazy nonsense ;) (for me that is at least)
ClayZ hehe, I wish! But no, it's not...a bunch of Austrians that I had met in Cuba had given that to me to trade with the Cubans when they left. But I decided to keep it for myself :)
Glad to see your still enjoying Cuban rum... I am going back in a week Changed my channel in preparation for a trip coming soon was (canopypilot). When you cross are you going to sail to California area Santa Cruz, Montery , SF bay?
Sailing Tranquility Bay it's an awesome tour, I just got to do it last week, loved it. And Lisa was great, so many stories to tell...got part of it on video :)
Gerald Thomas I started off with English in school, than Latin, then French and the Spanish after school. The English and Spanish are pretty fluent, the French comme ci comme ca ;). Actually it's the Latin that is a great base to understand the structure of learning the grammar of a language (as in the approach) and then I find that living in the country makes you fluent if you really depend on it (as in not being able to get anything in your own language). And I agree that being European and being able to work in all these countries, speaking them is sth that gets more enforced in school I guess. But the drive and the actual getting good at it came from traveling and living abroad. Ok, that was trying to answer all the posts here at once more or less ;) Ahoy, Nike
WhiteSpotPirates I guess I'm not the only American that is amazed with your bilingual abilities and particularly fluent understanding of the slang and terminology that Americans use. most people learn textbook English but that's not really how we speak. Without actually living here you've somehow picked up the correct usage and phrasing of American English. I was amazed when we had a previous conversation about this and you said you've never lived in the US. You speak like someone that has lived here enough years to absorb our language and culture first hand. This is just one more impressive thing to add to your resume I guess. I'm wondering if there is anything you can't do impressively.
Qué va!! If you start speaking another foreign language in next episode I am unsubscribing - I won't stand it! ;-) I am learning English and Spanish but I am so far behind you! Great episode, keep up the good work.
She's on a boat in Panama. What do you think she should wear dude ? You no likey, you no watchy ? No ? While I wholeheartedly agree that there is to much click bate on youtube, Niki is not one of them. Have a nice day.
What's disgusting is a dude complaining about click bait when the only reason he watched is because of what he hoped to see. You are a hypocrite. You sir, are disgusting. Nothing to see on this channel except an exceptionally brave young woman sailing around the world by herself.

On top of everything else, your language skills are very impressive.

Was waiting for that "whoomper" reference!!
Ha! If you never saw the movie "Wind" the reference to a ''Whomper" would be mystifying, eh?
Good Vid! God Bless.
Your engine sounded clunky in the video. Hindsight is 20/20. I liked the checklist. I stink at checklists.:)
one of these days I will be out there 😣3 yrs 8 months
Great video. Also, your Spanish is most impressive.
awesome watching you get the sail up. thanks!
What was in marias home made sand blast crisp dip? it looked good mmm!
Hm, if I remember right then that was a mix of roasted red peppers, garlic, feta cheese and mayonese and hot sauce. It was very good indeed!
You look great, young lady. Is your hat representative of sponsors (excellent!)? Your trek is one of the interesting ones. Thank you.
ClayZ hehe, I wish! But no, it's not...a bunch of Austrians that I had met in Cuba had given that to me to trade with the Cubans when they left. But I decided to keep it for myself :)
Great video thanks :) Hope the rain water was somewhat warm washing your hair with. Looks like it may have been :) Thanks again for sharing :)
Aaron oh no, it was nice and fresh since it just came down from the sky. But that's what u want, to cool off, hence my refreshed face ;)
Very nice :) I get that, I do that when out kayaking on warm day...roll my kayak on purpose to cool off, very refreshing :)
Wish videos were longer
Go Karl!
Glad to see your still enjoying Cuban rum... I am going back in a week Changed my channel in preparation for a trip coming soon was (canopypilot). When you cross are you going to sail to California area Santa Cruz, Montery , SF bay?
David Seminatore the plan is to head west first and then possibly north, but nothing is set in stone and I am moving super slow ;)
David Seminatore and yes, definitely love the Cuban rum :)!!!
I think it is cute as you use British phrases!
Your vlog is so inspirational. We'd be happy to play host if you ever find yourself in Key West :)
your a lovely looking lady and multilingual I see ,keep having fun I enjoy your vids

Just got back from being out of town. Wow are you living the life. So Jealous. Ha :)
Sorry you missed the Lisa tour. We can say from experience, she's quite a gal!
Sailing Tranquility Bay it's an awesome tour, I just got to do it last week, loved it. And Lisa was great, so many stories to tell...got part of it on video :)
*
The Gal, has not just the talk, but the walk or should I say water walk....
Me chama pra navegar com você!
How many languages are you fluent in? I don't even detect your German accent.
Full disclosure: I'm a typical American who barely speaks English :/
She is european, used to multi languages. Latin speaking or english speakers find it difficult to other languages.
I agree, It's practically gone now. It was more noticeable in the first videos, but even then her English was really good.
Gerald Thomas I started off with English in school, than Latin, then French and the Spanish after school. The English and Spanish are pretty fluent, the French comme ci comme ca ;). Brian Murphy you are aware of the movies made in Hollywood, last I heard they were still made in English
I'm very inspired by you, you are a very perfect lady :)
Maybe we sail up each other one day.
me encanta tu español, deberías hablar un poco mas en español
As an American who's tax dollars are still paying for the "Panama" canal, crossing should be free of charge and hassles.
Qué va!! If you start speaking another foreign language in next episode I am unsubscribing - I won't stand it! ;-) I am learning English and Spanish but I am so far behind you! Great episode, keep up the good work.
Kris Krk hehe, ok...well, u still have some time to catch up since I will need some time to arrive in French speaking territory ;)
thumb down using bikini as click bait
I dont think its clickbait when she actually wear it the whole video 0.O
She's on a boat in Panama. What do you think she should wear dude ? You no likey, you no watchy ? No ? While I wholeheartedly agree that there is to much click bate on youtube, Niki is not one of them. Have a nice day.
Bob Fomenko I hate click bait.
it's a disgusting way to do things

P.S. Saw your contributions to humanity....dude really!
