Amazing phone and I love the stock android along with how good the Google ecosystem works so effortlessly. A very underrated phone, can't wait to see what Google can do with the Pixel 6
Saw your day in the life video the other day and I fully agree with you on experience being what matters most that lots of people and reviewers seem to forget. Picked up the Pixel 4a as a secondary developer phone but realize how good the Google software additions are so useful like the auto call screening with the assistant and now the ability to hold calls for you. This phone changed my perspective entirely on what makes a phone good and decided to preorder the Pixel 5 to be my main and give the 4a to my dad. Sure you can have top specs on so many phones but if the user experience isn't there then there's no point. Google nailed it this year and I recommend the entire Pixel line to anyone looking for a new phone especially iPhone users looking to switch. Also, great content and keep up the work man!

Totally agree with your review. I absolutely love the customer experience of this phone. Have migrated from iOS (iPhone XS) and this phone has been a fantastic introduction to Android. I know this because I cannot put it down.... I have gone from a phone I absolutely hated. To my beloved Pixel 5 ❤️
Question: Why doesn't Google use 30W fast charging instead of 18W fast charging? Answer: Faster charging of any lithium-ion battery will degrade the life expectance of that battery over a shorter period of time. Faster charging creates more heat. Heat destroys a battery, which is why most manufacturers suggest you don't leave your phone in direct sunlight or heated areas. Manufacturers won't tell you this because they WANT your battery to degrade faster so they can sell you a new phone faster. You can thank Apple for this marketing strategy. They started it with the iPhone non-replaceable batteries in their first iPhone. Before that, all cell phones came with replaceable batteries. There are more differences between Pixel 4a5G and Pixel 5 than what you are saying. Pixel 5 has 8 GB RAM, Pixel 4a5G only has 6 GB RAM Pixel 5 has 90Hz refresh rate, Pixel 4a5G only has 60Hz Pixel 5 has reverse wireless charging, Pixel 4a5G does not Pixel 5 has solid aluminum body, Pixel 4a5G only has polycarbonate frame Pixel 5 has 4080mAh battery, Pixel 4a5G only has 3800mAh battery Pixel 5 has Gorilla Glass 6, Pixel 4a5G only has Gorilla Glass 3 Pixel 5 has IP68 dust/water resistance rating, Pixel 4a5G does not. This may not seem like a long list of differences, but when you actually price the individual parts/materials needed to build the phone, you'll see where there is a significant increase in cost to construct the Pixel 5. Great video! Thanks for posting!
GG 6 is infamous for micro scratches. Already got quite a few on my s20. Very good for drops though. I’d definitely put a screen protector if that bothers you.
I've had the Pixel 5 for over a month now and haven't even used the power brick to charge. Why? The battery lasts me ALL DAY so I can just place the phone on my wireless charger before I go to sleep and it's ready at 100% when I wake up. Great review and I'm glad I stumbled upon your channel. Breathe of fresh air.
Still did not see it but you get my like because your videos are always top notch😁👍 Seeing it at 480p... To soon seeing it 😄😄 Tomorrow I will see it again at max resolution 😁👍
Does your Pixel 5 have that screen gap that people are making a HUGE deal of? I'm curious because my Pixel 2 had a charging port defect and after sending it back 3 times and still having the same issue I just kinda gave up and kept it. I don't want to deal with my Pixel 5 if it has a defect so I'm trying to see how widespread the issue is.
1: Aluminum back is way better than glass. I don't want to spend a few hundred dollars to change the back glass (iPhone). 2: ensure bigger battery + reverse wireless charge ( pixel buds ) = No headphone jack, 3: I expect 4k30 (because $700) instead of 1080p30 - Front Video
Thx, great review, helpfull for an everyday user. I have one question: how is the visibility using it outdoors? Thats my only complaint about the pixel 3a I have been using for almost 2 years now. Keep the reviews coming bro!!
I've just sent back my Pixel 5 and gone back to the 4XL. So why I hear you ask? Main reason for me was the front under display speaker, telephone calls are very quiet compared to the 4XL and this was my main reason for sending it back. Pixel 4xl is visibly faster in day to day use especially when using the camera, Pixel 5 hangs a moment while it does its software magic to photos. Another point is the rattle behind the camera, never noticed it on 4xl but very noticible on the 5, I'm sure it's camera shutter or something as when you open the camera it disappears. If you want better battery life then pixel 5 is king but 4xl normally lasts me until bedtime with everything switched on and I have enough chargers if I need a boost. Let's see what the Pixel 6 brings.
Great video, as always. But I think it's while scrolling the high refresh rate really comes to play the most. But yeah, the adaptive refresh is the best option to go with cuz whatever the case battery is most important. PS: Are you sure that the refresh rate is throttled while scrolling thru social media apps?
great video!!! thanks for the info. My only issue with maybe getting a Pixel 5 is that I like to edit videos on my phone, and am not sure how well apps run on the this phone. Can you let me know how well Adobe Rush works on the Pixel 5? On my Pixel 2xl, it is laggy and crashes. If it's possible to let me know, I super appreciate it!
I mean what do you expect if you want to clean look on the front of your phone without speakers there? They have to put the speaker under the display or they could have just gave you the one speaker on the bottom! Do you want one speaker? No.....
Great review! I just got my Pixel 5 yesterday but it has a defect of a small gap between the front class and back body. Apparently many people are reporting the same issue :(
@@PeaceGates yeah I just don't wanna pay for the restocking fee or exchange it for a refurbished one. Prolly wait till the smoke clears to get it. Or wait for the 6?
Agree about the price. As it stands, I will probably go with the 4a 5g at $200 less (which I think a lot of people will). However, if this was priced at $599, I think Google would have really made this a slam dunk and a no brainer of a purchase. The $100 difference is much easier to justify and $599 makes it much more competitive relative to other phones in this segment. That said, I am sure it will be on sale for $599 soon enough.

it's a good phone, I'd say it's one of the best phone even using a mid-range processor because the SO performance is almost similar to high end phones performance and the pricing as well 😂
I almost didn’t get it because the price should be $100 less. Then I discovered that Best Buy trade in for my XS max 256gb was $400 (almost $200 more than my carrier or Apple was offering for a trade in) I think that more than makes up for the cost. The camera shots look so much better than what I’m shooting with the xs. But still.... the a14 in a new iPhone for 100 more does make this a hard sell.
Anyone that hates under display speaker have never used a phone with a slit speaker for earpiece. It's HORRIBLE! Who listens to music on phone speakers. I'll still be using headphones for 99% of tasks.
