Women who lost sight on their lofty vocations to be holy wives and mothers to future good human beings. And even today, they still don't get this truth. Decli ing birth rate. My dad was not a believer when I was a child (later he was saved) and yet he really liked listening to Bishop Sheen. My mother and I were Baptist. We always watched his TV show every week. Yes, he was loved by many

Bishop Sheen was always played on our TV when I was a child. I loved Bishop Sheen's programs even though I was very young and tv was in black & white. He is such a Godly man with humility and humor. I am so grateful for being able, at my age now, 69 years later, to be able to continue hearing him and seeing his shows. He speaks with such wisdom, truth and love of God that how could anyone not love him and want to follow him. Just a phenomenal speaker, no one like him, and he can really tell a joke. Even laugh at himself making him such a joy. God bless him, cause I know he is keeping everyone in heaven smiling 🙏🕊🤗😇

God certainly blessed humanity when are gave Archbishop Sheen to us. His homilies and podcasts are timeless. He is certainly timeless and I feel that God is smiling. Bishop Scheen certainly heard “ a job well done “ when he faced his Maker. He is still inspiring long after he was gone- I hope to see Saint put with his name one day soon.
I too was very young listening and watching a black and white TV with my family to Bishop Sheen. I am 80 and so grateful to find his messages again on youtube.

He had a great love for the Blessed Virgin Mary and she for him. If a woman had an abortion, before Vatican II, she was automatically excommunicated, and couldn't go to confession until a Bishop granted permission to the Pastor, or until the Bishop heard her Confession. Considering what just happened in Ohio, there is something terribly wrong with Christian people, because that measure which would have prohibited abortion up until birth, was defeated. God have mercy on America. The blood of these Innocents must be atoned and if not, then destruction will ensue. I remember when abortion became legal in 1973. I was in Highschool. It was a public High School but my Home Economics teacher was a Roman Catholic. She stated that if her daughter got pregnant out of wedlock she'd encourage her to have an abortion. This was only weeks after Roe vs Wade. Where are we now?

I know a Priest who had Benediction, with Rosary, Prayers to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, etc. after Sunday Mass. It's going to take much prayer and Penance to overcome abortion. I want to move to Ohio but this is so discouraging. Oregon has some of the most radical abortion laws in the country. Our elections have been skewed since mail in ballots were implemented. I wonder if anyone looked into problems in precincts where machines weren't counting ballots and spitting them out, much like what happened in Arizona.

The world wants to hide the truth and the truth is only found in God. What is the world without truth? It is the absence of God. What does the absence of God produce? It produces emptiness. We search and search for the truth when it is just beneath our nose and yet we don't see it. So we continue to search in vain. Because life without God isn't a life worth living.

Bishop Sheen was able to see it all and communicate it all in such a brilliant way. These are not small ideas he illuminates for us. These are the most important things for us all to see and try to understand.

Meditation: How can we fight fear with faith? Jesus' sleeping presence on the storm-tossed sea reveals the sleeping faith of his disciples. They feared for their lives even though their Lord and Master was with them in the boat. They were asleep to Christ while he was present to them in their hour of need. The Lord is ever present to us. And in our time of testing he asks the same question: Why are you afraid? Have you no faith? Do you recognize the Lord's presence with you, especially when you meet the storms of adversity, sorrow, and temptation? Whenever we encounter trouble, the Lord is there with the same reassuring message: "It is I, do not be afraid."
Faith must be nourished with the Word of God
What are the characteristics of faith and how can we grow in it? Faith is an entirely free gift that God makes to us. Believing is only possible by grace and the help of the Holy Spirit, who moves the heart and who opens the eyes of the mind to understand and accept the truth which God has revealed to us. Faith enables us to relate to God rightly and confidently, with trust and reliance, by believing and adhering to his word, because he is utterly reliable and trustworthy. If we want to live, grow, and persevere in faith, then it must be nourished with the word of God.
Christ's love and truth strengthen us in faith and trust
Fear does not need to cripple us from taking right action or rob us of our trust and reliance on God. Courage working with faith enables us to embrace God's word of truth and love with confidence and to act on it with firm hope in God's promises. The love of God strengthens us in our faith and trust in him and enables us to act with justice and kindness towards our neighbor even in the face of opposition or harm. Do you allow the love of Christ to rule in your heart and mind, and to move your will to choose what is good in accordance with his will?

Jesus “said to them, ‘Why are you so terrified? Why are you lacking in faith?’ ” -Mark 4:40
Do you have confidence in the Lord? (see Mt 9:28) Can you proclaim: “This great confidence in God is ours, through Christ” (2 Cor 3:4) and “Our hope being such, we act with full confidence”? (2 Cor 3:12) We are tempted to think that Jesus is sleeping and doesn’t care if we’re about to drown (see Mk 4:38). However, Jesus is in control. He is Lord. Therefore, “let us draw near” to Him “in utter sincerity and absolute confidence” (Heb 10:22).
Life is “a great contest of suffering” (Heb 10:32), a battle centering on our faith and confidence in the Lord. The Lord wants to increase and deepen our confidence in Him (see Lk 17:5). The evil one pressures us into surrendering our confidence in the Lord (see Heb 10:35). However, “we are not among those who draw back and perish, but among those who have faith and live” (Heb 10:39).
The Lord calls us to cry out to Him in the battles and storms of life. As we come to know Him, we should no longer cry out in doubt and confusion but in great, full, unyielding, absolute confidence. We know that our Redeemer lives (Jb 19:25, RSV-CE). We know the Lord is faithful to His promises (see 1 Thes 5:24). We know He will never leave us orphans (Jn 14:18). We know He has conquered the world (Jn 16:33). Be confident in Him.
Prayer: Father, may I know that I know Your love and power. May I project confidence in You.
Promise: “The Lord on His part has forgiven your sin: you shall not die.” -2 Sm 12:13
Praise: St. Angela was moved with pity for poor, uneducated children. She received God’s grace to begin a new order of religious to help alleviate the sufferings of those children.

I’m not religious, but I love this guy. Used to see old episodes of him on like some weird catholic channel on cable TV. Lots of pearls of wisdom, particularly on what makes for a successful society/culture. I am kinda glad he isn’t around to see what the future has devolved into. 🤷🏼♂️

Matthew wrote.. the risen Jesus met the disciples only on a mountain in Galilee, but Luke says.. he met them at a meal in Jerusalem on the very evening of his resurrection, after which he took them on the road to Bethany, where he rose bodily to heaven. Meanwhile, John’s was loosely based on Luke but contains elaborations of Luke’s account, including two meals in Jerusalem and a later meeting by the Sea of Galilee. Mark originally ended his story at verse 16:8, with no evidence of the risen Jesus.. scholars have concurred that the ‘Long Ending’ verses 16:9-20, which corrobate somewhat with Luke’s account, was added much later.

Luke's infancy narrative is not only massively different from Matt's, but also in details, e.g., about Joseph and Mary's home (in Bethlehem in Matt 2:11; in Nazareth in Luke 2:4-7, with no home in Bethlehem) and about their travels after the birth of Jesus (to Egypt in Matt 2:14; to Jerusalem and Nazareth in Luke 2:22,39)Let us be neutral and look at this objectively, without Bias and without any racism. Without pre-conceptions. Completely neutral with our intellectual cup the right side up, because if it was upside down, nothing, no matter how profound, will go into the intellectual cup. Question: Did you ever question yourself that the Gospels by Mark, Luke, Matthew, and John have no last names? In court or in your passport or driving license, do you not have your last name? How valid is a document without any last name to give it validity? Second: Jesus spoke Aramaic. The name for God in Aramaic is Elah. Please look it up. Muslims say Allah. Third: Did the mother of Jesus or Jesus himself claim he is god or the son of god? Fourth: Muslims love Jesus and Mother Mary more than lip-service Christians. Why? Muslims keep a beard and they prostrate in praying to One God Almighty as Jesus did. Muslim women wear a head-cover called hijab like Mother Mary. They do not eat pork like just like Mother Mary or Jesus. Fifth: If Christians claim that you will only be saved if you believe in Jesus, them what about other prophets like Moses and Abraham and Jacob and Job, and other good people before Jesus was born? Will they go to hell? Certainly not. Bible in its original form must have been profound. It still has many, many good lessons. But it has been tampered with,.no orginals for manuscripts that`s what priests had admitted in addition many scholars including bart ehrman who was orginally christian,the original bible should be written in an aramic which is is basic language of jesus,jesus never bring the bible,the authors of bibles never contemporary to jesus,nomenclature of bibles by authors means bible is man made,how often does bible revised,peace,hope i helped,please read first before it`s too late&don`t biased to catechism,u are a christian because jesus gonna holds up your sins which not even written bible exactly like trinity,about time to know the truth
