- Fulton John Sheen, was born May 8, 1895 in Illinois and was ordained a priest of the diocese of Peoria in Peoria, IL on September 20, 1919. In 1930, after just eleven years of priesthood, Sheen began hosting a weekly Sunday night radio broadcast called The Catholic Hour. This broadcast captured many devoted listeners, reportedly drawing an audience of four million people every week for two decades. In 1951, Sheen was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdioceses of New York, the same year he started Life is Worth Living. Life is Worth Living ran until 1957. Bishop Sheen hosted another television series, The Fulton Sheen Program, running from 1961 to 1968 that closely modeled the Life is Worth Living series.
In 1979 Fulton J. Sheen received his greatest accolade when Pope John Paul II embraced him and said, "You have written and spoken well of the Lord Jesus. You are a loyal son of the Church." With that last acknowledgement, Fulton Sheen passed into eternal life just two months later on December 9, 1979.
Bishop Fulton Sheen was scheduled for beatification (the process of becoming a saint in the Catholic Church) on December 21, 2019, at the Cathedral of St. Mary in Peoria. On December 3, 2019, the Diocese of Peoria announced that the beatification of Sheen would be delayed.
Bishop Sheen helped me return to the Church in 2017 through his Life is Worth Living program's I discovered in July 2015 on UA-cam. Thank you Lord Jesus.

The evil spirit has attacked me physically as well as emotionally. I understand this is common. So I want to offer a prayer for you. I ask St. Michael the Archangel to keep Satan at bay, to help you fight back against him and to ultimately defeat him, sending him and his demons right back to Hell where they belong so that you find your path clear. as you walk. It just means if you accept the suffering and offer it to God while being in the state of grace, your reward in Heaven will be greater. God loves you more than you could ever realistically conceive, He made You.
You have scoliosis pain not because God wants you to, but because we live in a fallen world of suffering and death because of the sin of Adam and Eve. God punished the world for their sin, and we must endure the consequences. Of course we have hope because by Jesus Christ dying for our sins He allowed us to enter into Heaven with Him if we obey Him and do His will.
I hope you get better, if God wills it, you will get better, if you don't it means that it might take time or it is your cross to bear and God wants you to suffer through it, for your eternal benefit of course and through prayer you will find your answer! If you are young or middle aged you will likely overcome it though, through chiropractic rehabilitation or what have you.

Why is he not a Saint? I know in my heart he is in heaven for he loved our Lord with all his being. Every time I listen to this holy blessed man fall in love ever more deeper with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I feel ashamed of myself when I complain of my pains knowing what the rewards will be. May God bless the precious soul of this holy man, make him a Saint so more people benefit from his intercession. I love our Lord who has loved me a sinner so much so giving me His precious body and blood daily to nourish my soul. What els do o need Praise to THEE Christ the king the living God!
What is a saint?
He is not Canonized a saint because he has no proven miracles. Personally, I believe he was the greatest Catholic Evangelist of our time. I am certain he brought many to Christ.... a miracle in these times.

My dad used to watch him when I was 5 or 6. He was not catholic then. Just before his death, I asked if he would finally consent to go to RCIA. He said yes and died before he completed. He went on to heaven do to Archbishop Fulton Sheen.

His face shows years of fasting. It's common knowledge that people would wine and dine him ..he ordered very little ..like a small soup. The millios of people senr donations . And he gave street people money . Poor families got little money gifts pressed into mama's hands .he gave street people his coats with money in the pockets . Indiana was left out of the loop but, I remember hearing his sermons, completely forgotten in the 80's. We had fun, worked, made a living somehow by some miracle. It was hard to build all we have done to have it wasted because you saw us wasted but, if we didn't like it, if it didn't help us: we wouldn't have used it. Tyrantism: it's not like totalitarianism. This world was taken over long age and now Bush.
Fr. Sheen doesn't need us to declare him a 'Saint'. Jesus will do this IF this is what he decides to do. But his reward will be vast and substantial. 'Well done good and Faithful Servant' will be the words he hears. He will have to 'settle' for this.

Jesus is not still on the cross, but rather seated on the right hand of the Father. The Bible talks about not praying with vain repetition and yet people still use hail Mary's and Our Fathers. The bible teaches not to worship idols and yet there are still idols of Mary and the Saints in sanctuaries. The bible says Jesus is the only mediator between God and man. And yet people still pray to Mary and the Saints. The Bible says that people are saved by grace through faith and people are still trying to work their way to heaven. Jesus said on the cross "It is finished". Salvation is a gift.
Your empty crosses are idols. And your photographs are every much an idol than any statue. You think this way because you do not understand the Church and it’s teachings. The statues are there to remind us to think of them. I suggest you take RCIA class and learn the truth and stop the lies about the Church the Protestants teach. Because they do not have the knowledge of the truth. And remember it’s Jesus Church!

I'd have loved to ask Bishop Sheen why children get bone cancer. Pretty severe punishment for man's first act of disobedience. What does that say about the nature of god?
It says nothing about God, but everything about how Adam and Eve's choice to use free will affected their bodies and souls and passed the effect on to their children. The spiritual affect was no longer being a friend to God. The Physical effect was to be unable be in the Garden with God, but to choose to Live in a realm controlled by the fallen evil angels. Sin contracted the effects of death of the body and the soul. Bone cancer is caused by what this world does to us. Thank the fallen angels and our fallen first parents for the diseases that we and our children suffer.
God Who does not HAVE to love us, sent Jesus to show us the way back to God.

This is a Saint of the Catholic Church. Why the fight about it?! He said many things that were prophetic.. I see him as a Saint and Doctor of my Church, no problem do I have with that..
I know the upset began over powdered milk I believe it was the Cardinal (before Dolan) got the milk for free and wanted to sell it to Abp Sheen...who refused to pay for a donation.
The disagreement went all the way to the Pope...who sided with Archbishop Sheen.
Though I also believe that some were a bit jealous of Abp. Sheen's fame and notability.

So incredible to listen to...lifts and strengthens the soul..keeping me completely focused on Christ crucified. That is what the world needs, of all things Christ asks for...its first to not be forgotten.
I loved him dearly I mostly followed his stories trip to Lourdes, London St. Patrick church etc. Still go back to his amazing , incredible preaches with passion can we suggests him to be a Saint please.

I used to have such disdain and hatred towards you and your priests not knowing what I was thinking or saying. Have mercy on me. Fulton sheen reverted me back to You through his talks about Mary your mother my mother and convinced me through Truth and Love that I was directly on the broad road a heretic fool and every other foul word you could call a man. And from the least likely person a old man in red robes with a creepy smile my first judgment upon seeing him. Please forgive me and have mercy I know you have i confessed all of this to you and one of your priests so thankful for you Lord and the priesthood and Mother Church. Run home anyone that sees this to the Fathers mercy confess repent and pick up the Lord cross best decisions I ever made and still continue to have to do.

My father (a WWII veteran) admired Fulton Sheen and thanks to your information, I realize that he may have been listening to him on the radio before and during the war. He truly was (and is) a saint!
