Of course there are “x god was just born” a fair bit, but I find it interesting when there are god where they’re like “yeah about 80 years ago blah blah blah ascended”. Like recent in cosmic scale but still old in human terms. Also, I fucking love when gods are killed but in a way that is like ontologically satisfying. Like, as you said, the Tide was usurped by Grail, but the specific wording is fantastic. The tide was liquid, and the grail is an hour of thirst. Grail probably literally actually drank an old god.

So when the Forge Divided the Sun-In-Splendor is that not just another form of the crime of the sky? Some way of subverting the Rules? There were 2-3 Hours “born” of its death? And I remember somewhere reading that the Sun-In-Splendor will be reborn
The crime of the sky is related to sexual reproduction specifically I believe. The gods born from the Sun-In-Splendor’s death weren’t born this way so it doesn’t really count.
I thought about this too. Maybe "the crime of the sky" was called to be done through fate/prophecy specifically with Forge of Days and Forge Divided and was originally something else much more sinister that both Forge of Days and Forge Divided didn't want to commit, so in retaliation, mild insanity/anger, and ruthlessness for her own survival Forge of Days concocted another route--sacrificing her beloved in favor for a better world and/or better outcome instead of the original sinister route she could have taken

Question! How do we know that the lithomachy happened before the intercalet? Because I always thought that the sun's death was like the big bang, the beginning of the world as we know it and that things like the murder of the gods of stone would not happen under the supervision of the sun in splendor
Because the Gods-from-Flesh predate the Intercalate. There’s references, for example, to the Grail anticipating the union between the Sun-In-Splendour and the Forge. We also know that the Forge and the Sun arrived around the time of the Lithomachy (the exact order of events isn’t fully clear to me) and that the Forge killed a God-from-Stone (Flint) which was part of the Lithomachy.

@gorgeousthing5089 the intercalate was not the big bang. In fact it's as "recent" as the Roman empire, and named after a real historical event.
