Thx so much- learnt human CPR away back in my teens. Realised that I should know the differences to perform on our fur babies if ever needed. Had a scare this morning when one was in a deep sleep (rare for cats/ kittens in my experience), and I struggled to wake him. All ok, but decided I needed to know what to do 🙏

Thank you for sharing.10 years ago my little baby(150 lbs.),had a seizure, coming out of a sound sleep flopping around and struggling to breath.I had no idea what was happening but immediately tried to help him.He had swallowed his tongue and was struggling to breathe.I did what anybody would do,and reached down his throat and pulled his tongue 👅 back out.He was at the emergency clinic in about 20 minutes(2:30 A.M.).The vet yelled at me for reaching down his throat and grabbing his toungue, saying he could have bitten off my fingers.I told the vet that I had more fingers on my other hand, and that there was no way that I was gonna stand by as my dog choked to death. Was I wrong??Wouldn't anyone do anything they could to save their dog???He lived for a few more months, and I still miss him terribly.....RIP DUNKIN......

@@MoneyStrategiesSOULutions, I know, and thank you.I'm a 63 dude, and I still cry over my guy.He saved my life.I used to drink and do drugs like an absolute wildman, then I rescued him from a local highway. He was 12 weeks old and got my coffee cup stuck on his face, hence the name Dunkin. He was so dam cute, and looked so sad when I would leave the house that I stopped all my bad habits, immediately,so I could spend more time with him.Changes my will also.He was cremated and I have his ashes on my mantle, and when I die,I'm gonna get cremated also, and I want his ashes mixed with mine so we can be together forever.....
Thank you so much for your condolences.........P.S.,crying now...........THANK YOU AGAIN.....

    2:51 cat 😿 CPR (under 30 lbs)
-Right side on flat surface facing towards you.
-2 rescue breaths with closed mouth on full face as chest rises
    - Check for femoral artery pulse (under leg facing you)
-CPR Put your right hand underneath for support
-Put your left palm (or multiple fingers) on upper chest 1/2 to 1 inch of their chest
-30 chest compressions and 2 rescue breaths for 5 cycles (about 2 minutes)
    -check pusle and breath
-get emergency vet help if they start breathing
1st cycle: 2 breaths, 30 chest compressions, check pulse
2nd cycle: 2 breaths, 30 chest compressions, check pulse
3rd cycle: 2 breaths, 30 chest compressions, check pulse
4th cycle: 2 breaths, 30 chest compressions, check pulse

My dog fell into the pool earlier this afternoon and in my desperation to find a video/audio to tell me how to give CPR to my dog without killing her I had little choice but to resort to UA-cam. Thanks to an unskippable ad before this video precious time that was absolutely VITAL to prevent permanent brain damage from oxygen starvation from partial drowning let alone to make sure she didn’t die was wasted on an ad for a life saving emergency procedure.
My dog is dead and youtube got a nickel. How was your day?

Sorry, but the ending part (for animals under 30 pounds) is incomplete. You discuss no pulse, no breathing --> continue CPR. You discuss yes pulse, yes breathing --> go back to rescue breathing. And then if yes pulse and again yes, breathing, take him to the vet. Those last two parts contradict. Also, what about yes pulse, no breathing? Then what do we do? And what about no pulse, yes breathing? Earlier in the video - for animals over 30 pounds - you said that if he has a pulse but he's not breathing, then give a rescue breath every 3-5 seconds. Is that the same for pets under 30 pounds? Thanks.

    • @eugeneshuhayda7195
      @eugeneshuhayda7195 6 днів тому +1

Hey i know that it has been a year and you probably have already found answers or God forbid that you need to use it. Anyway This was worded confusingly, The way you should do it is Yes pulse, no breathing, Continue with rescue breaths regardless of pet size, continue with the 3-5 second interval rescue breaths, Also do be careful with how much you give, as our lungs are a lot bigger then our pets! If Yes pulse Yes Breathing = Get to the Vet! You have rescued them and they need to see the vet as soon as possible. And Finally, No Pulse Yes breathing is only going to last like a minute, As under normal situations, You cannot have ZERO heartbeat and still be breathing.
