I think these are the loveliest dog owners on the show so far. They clearly weren’t aware what they were doing was wrong for Nellie, and clearly wanted to do better. No delusions, or weird beliefs. Just a wholesome family

As much as I love drama and the tumultuous episodes, this one makes me feel so much better. We do really need more positivity these days so thank you so much Victoria!
These are such good dog owners, even though they needed some guidance to steer them in the right direction. Hearing at the very beginning of the episode the mother say that she feels she is lacking in her understanding of dogs as a whole is such great self-awareness. It’s so great to see that she knows she can learn the proper tools to give her dog the life Nellie deserves. Sometimes we get owners who think the dog is the whole problem and that their own behavior has nothing to do with it, so it’s lovely to see the desire to grow and learn in these people. I wish them and Nellie all the best!
Amazing owners, trying to help Nelly instead of bashing her, you can see how much this dog means to them. I'm so glad they can understand her better now. Everyone is just happier.
It amazes me how often the people who feel the most guilt and are the hardest on themselves and immediately take responsibility for "failing" their dog, are actually some of the kindest, most loving humans, who are guilty of nothing more than not having learned yet how to treat PTSD in dogs, and the most cruel/neglectful ones think they are just great and it's all the dogs fault, until they're slapped in the face by reality!
I had/have a dog like this, she was a failed hunting dog that her owners left tied to a tree and stabbed. She was on the euthanasia list because 'nobody wants a dog they can't even pet'. It's been eight happy years since then and while still skittish, she loves her people and is a big lovebug. Dog abusers are the worst kind of people.
While i do like to see Victoria rip into arrogant stubborn owners, i ALWAYS come back and rewatch episodes with genuine and kind owners who love their dogs and listen in order to help their dog
This actually brought happy tears to my eyes.😊 As a pet parent myself with a fearful doggo, I can totally understand how heart breaking it is to see our pet in this condition. Am super happy for Nellie and her pet parents ❤ her owners are so sweet and kind I'm sure Nellie will have a happy life going forward
God bless Nelly’s new owners. Such a wonderful family! Poor Nelly, I hope she realizes she’s finally free and loved. She’s so incredibly gorgeous and smart! She looked so happy towards the end❤❤❤❤
That dog is so sweet. She already had TLC, but she just needed a bit of structure to help her on her way. Doggies are like children in that way; they want love but also direction. They also want the chance to explore their world. Great teaching by Victoria as always.
So many times these shows have owners who are incompetent and don’t realize the affect they have on their dogs behavior or try to think of things in their dog’s point of view. It absolutely warms my heart that these ladies called for Victoria not to fix a “broken” dog, but to help their pet so she isn’t afraid all the time. The empathy is so sweet🥰
i have a dog like this not even as bad as hiding under beds or anything but he growls when he is afriad youll take something. sometimes backs away when we pet him he is a labrador. 1 year old. working so hard the improvement is little.
I think it’s great that victoria can clearly guide owners to how to best provide for their dogs, because most of the time they don’t know what they’re doing wrong because they just try to make their dog live the best life. In some cases like this Its nobodys “fault”, just miscommunication. Love seeing victoria clear this up!😊
Such lovely owners and a special, lovely dog. I am glad Victoria was able to help them both. Nellie seemed to love her scent walks! That recall game was so smart, and isn't something I've seen before.
If I called my dog and she didn't immediately come running to me, the amount of stress I would fill up with thinking something happened. These poor gals, I'm so glad they're learning to help her and how she's already improving.
Applied the same methods with the help of one of the trainers in France. It worked like magic. I’m amazed to see Suki had the same behaviour and with this method she’s come a long way ❤ Thanks Victoria. I trained both of my Shiba Inu dogs seeing your videos.
I think this is my favorite episode so far purely because the owners clearly love and care for their pup. They weren't causing any issues like most families, they just didn't know how to help her. Lovely people ❤
You can see each time Victoria points out how the owners are unintentionally stressing the dog they feel soo bad about it 🥺Such lovely owners who just didn’t know how to navigate having an anxious girl
I always pay attention to Victoria's body language when she's with the dogs. She's communicating with them always non-verbally in dog language all the time. She's so aware of what she's doing with her body. She'd be great with horses! 😊
I cried watching this. Poor Nellie being so nervous :( I'm glad Victoria could help the sweet owners read Nellies body language and help build her confidence
This is a wholesome episode, just angels all over. I am used with cats, and this level of nervousness is very common and almost the norm when it come to rescued cats. Though their needs are different from dogs, it always comes to know what the animal is comunicating with their body language. Beautiful work from Victoria.
This has to be my favourite episode of the show I’ve seen so far. Absolutely wonderful owners, a lovely dog who just needs a bit of support, Victoria being soft and sweet and not having to be stern with the owners. Just a wonderful feel good episode.
It's refreshing to see people being so loving towards their animal. So many get frustrated and there's so many that mistreat their furry family members. This family took a very positive leap forward ❤
Man, these owners deserve an award. They worked so hard with her and refused to give up. Im so glad to see that sometimes you DO have nice owners whom will do anything for their pups
We did this with our Walker puppy because he was so insistent on following his nose, but we had no idea we were doing the right thing, lol Now I understand why his silly walks that we thought were just wandering around the yard made him so happy
I can only imagine the trauma that Nellie suffered before she was adopted by this loving family... This was such a wholesome episode... usually the owners are making horrible mistakes with their dogs causing the bad behavior but this family obviously loves Nelly, wanting the best for her but didn't know how to help and just needed the proper guidance from a professional. It's amazing how quickly Nellie's confidence has grown in such a short time with the techniques Victoria taught the family and hopefully that confidence will only continue to grow. Nellie might always have certain triggers (such as being scared of bigger dogs) but hopefully by instilling a sense of confidence with Nellie in her daily life, those triggers won't be as sensitive.... and perhaps it might benefit Nellie to see if there are any dog parks that are specifically for smaller dogs so that Nellie isn't triggered by a big dog and regress. 🥰
I also have a very nervous rescued dog and I've been working so hard to make her feel comfortable and more confident. It's so heartwarming to see her walk happy by my side with no more fear in the world ❤
Very glad to see people who actually know something about having a dog for a change. Some dogs really need pro help for the owners. Glad to see Nelly has a great owners and a home.
It's amazing to me that even people who clearly love their dog, and are obviously responsible owners, still don't understand basic dog body language. Glad to see this pup getting her confidence back, and her humans being so receptive to training.
I had a roommate who had a very skittish and nervous rescue. She wanted affection but was terrified. She'd sit on one side of the room looking longingly at me and even when I called and offered treats, it would take her upwards of 5 minutes utes to muster up the courage to approach- and instead of coming straight over, she would take a few steps, stop, wait, and then start again. Or she would turn her back and slowly back up, believing that if she couldn't see me, then I couldn't see her and thus it was 'safer" to approach. Isuspect she had been abused/seen other animals in her first home abused as well. She had numerous strange behaviors and couldn't interact with other dogs. Very sweet and it was sad to see her suffer. Her owner was very kind to her, spent as much time as he could loving on her and she lived to the ripe old age of 14.
this was such a nice episode! The owners weren't completely inept as they usually are, they just needed guidance on how to help a traumatised dog. They were so loving and caring and only wanted the best for her. Such a delight to see Nellie's improvement!
These two ladies were absolutely great. They just want the best for their pupper and were ready to change their own behaviours to make her every day a better experience and I absolutely adore them for that ❤
These kind ladies did their best, but this dog was showing them and they didn't really know how to listen. I think we sometimes think that showering animals with love is all that is required. They were so happy to see Nelly enjoying her life. Brilliant, Victoria.

Omg I could cry. Tysm for helping so many dogs and families along the way!!!!!💙 this poor pooch definitely deserved happiness and has a loving family to care for her
This was a very good episode. I learned a lot. Dogs need to have the control of how much interaction they have with us. Also, the dog needs to sometimes take the 'lead' and have the walk they want to have. These owners are lovely people.
It was actually a relief to watch this episode that could focus on the dog and how to train her, without the family dramas with immature grownups we are otherwise used to see. Just a sweet family this time, who needed help with tools to understand and help their dog.
For anyone reading this: I know that dog training can be difficult sometimes, but you're doing great. Keep up the good work, and your dog (and your own sanity) will thank you for it! ❤️💕
She reminds me of a German Shepherd mix my family rescued from a neighbor. It took him nearly 5 years totally snap out of it. I'm just grateful he escaped and my parents trusted me enough to change their minds about returning him once they'd met his owners.
We see so many episodes with owners that seem like they can't be bothered to work with their dogs, or who refuse to believe that their behavior has any part in their dogs' issues, that situations like this often get overlooked. As someone who grew up with dogs and has done some work with rescue and otherwise "difficult" dogs, it often slips past me how much of what I know has been learned through experience, rather than being "just common sense". I forget that people who have the best of intentions, don't just instinctively know not to move toward an animal that is moving or leaning away from them. I'm so happy that Nelly has owners who are absolutely down to learn not only what to do, but why, and I'm happy they have you to break it down without judging them for their mistakes :)
This is the so far most useful episode for me. The nervous dog that doesn't want to be touched and doesn't come back. The total loss of brain function when getting scared and then the running home with control only regained once we reach the garden. The nose on the ground for the entire walk. The licking (of carpet in our case). Things have gotten better over the years but on bad days the carpet still gets a licking. And the only times I let her off the leash is in fenced in areas. Pretty much all our walks are her decision when it comes to direction, speed and length. Only when she gets uncertain I take over. And I've accepted that she doesn't enjoy cuddling. It also only happens on her terms. But generally the improvements are visible. It just took a lot of time and patience. And stepping back a bit to give her space on bad days. It took us 9 months for her to sleep in the bedroom. It took 2 years (and 2 dog trainers) for her to walk on shiny floors (she was afraid of slipping and falling). And it also took a few months to get her to like car rides. That one was basically figuring out that she hated being lifted and once I build her a ramp to get into the car by herself, the rides turned to fun.
I have to tell you this. My dog LOVED watching your show. He would sit inches from the TV making constant comments about the doggo's bad behavior. Then you would show up, . . . And he would leave the room. 😂
So heartwarming, Nellie's going to be just fine! I have a rescue that came to us scared and unconfident a lot like Nellie. I learned to interact with her differently than other dogs I've had. These are dogs that really need to trust you'll give them space when they need it, and if you give them that the trust they give you in return is priceless.
My dog used to be just like Nelly when we first got him. He is a rescue so we don't really know his history, but I watched It's Me or the Dog religiously when I was younger and worked to build his confidence and it was so rewarding to see him open up! Now he is almost too confident in himself, the amount of sass he gives me! He is a husky mix so I was fully prepared for an opinionated dog, I'm happy to have the sass.
Poor dog, my rescue dog acted like that when he was a puppy. He was also on his own in the wilderness. Allowing him to be independent and make his own choices is very important. It's taken about 3.5 years but he's really warmed up to us and is doing great.
What a sweet dog and wonderful owners! My first childhood dog was a fearful rescue, took about a year to get her confident and happy, but it was so worth it. She went from terrified of men, flinching if anyone moved too fast, and rolling over to pee herself on meeting people/dogs to an absolute attention loving daddy's girl. She was also a hound mix, funnily enough. Scared dogs like this are so, so worth it. They just need time, patience, and gentle understanding
I lost my dog almost a year ago, but I raised him with Victoria's tips. He was a Flat coated re4triever. He was the best dog I have ever had but I must admit Victoria's tips I gathered throughout years from her videos were immensely helpful.
She helped this dog and sweet family wonderfully ~ Good job, dog-whisper lady😎👍 Shows distrust and anxiety in dogs is just like with hoomans. Not just cuz of the dog's symptoms of immediately lickin the wall after gettin pets... But also due to the fact that Ms Victoria knew that the worst u can do in this situation is to take away one's freedom to decide for themselves. Shows the importance of not locking them up inside a house or room, while they are being stressed out. It's important for them to make that decision of being in the house themselves. Glad this dog had such a wholesome family that tried to understand. Good job~
Such a sweet episode. Truly enjoyed watching these owners learn how to make their beautiful pup more confident. She’s a Lucky baby to have parents who care and they are lucky to have such a beautiful and super sweet pup. ❤
We had a Norwegian elkhound puppy my Mom bought from her second owner who for about a month would flatten in terror anytime we went to pet her, but perk up her ears when we did so. We figured out she had been abused before we got her. The previous owner even bragged over the phone that she could "hold her own fighting fir her food" when we questioned why she was guarding the food. Eventually she became attention seeking pooch who would sit on Dad's feet when he got home and REFUSE to move until he pet her.

I'm so glad you were able to help Nelly and her humans!
Didn't know seeing a rescue dogs ears flapping around with tongue sticked out sideways would be such a joyus and funny giving scene
This was so heartwarming! I'm so happy for Nellie, getting to know what it feels like to be a dog and loved family member!
I love the newer episodes. All the owners are so chill
Finally some responsible and lovely owners. I’m so happy they were able to help nellie en feel empowered to care for her properly❤
thank you for this episode! I have a nervous rescue dog that cowers a lot and this gives us good training advice
I've got tears in my eyes
Thanks for sharing!
Poor dog, my rescue dog acted like that when he was a puppy. He was also on his own in the wilderness. Allowing him to be independent and make his own choices is very important. It's taken about 3.5 years but he's really warmed up to us and is doing great.
That poor dog had such a traumatic past it’s heart breaking 😢 I’m so glad she has loving owners ❤
This one almost made me cry, what good oweners and a very good doggo!!
These owners are very loving best owners on the show.
I wish all the people who needed Victoria were sweet and loving to their pet like these lovely ladies 🥺❤️
Good job~
It's so sad to see a dog so broken. These ladies are lovely - Nellie is fortunate to have them.
We have had similar problems with our ftenchie. Actually followed Victoria's advise and he is much better., patience is the golden rule.
What a heart warming episode! Lovely people, wonderful dog!
So happy for Nelly.
Aw Nellie is precious and her owners are lovely. This was great to watch.
It's soooooo tragic and now it's so beautiful😭😭😭😭😭Im bawling and I can't stop. Victoria ur an angel.
Simply amazing people and doggy!! What a difference! Thank you.
Such a sweet episode. Truly enjoyed watching these owners learn how to make their beautiful pup more confident. She’s a Lucky baby to have parents who care and they are lucky to have such a beautiful and super sweet pup. ❤
I connect with this dog on an emotional level
Wow, someone actuallly listened to Victoria. They did what she said, and how about that. IT WORKED!! I guess she knows what she's talking about.
So glad Nellie has such loving, caring pet parents!!
Good work from all involved.
I love dogs. I can see the amazing impact you make on their behaviour.
Most importantly though you manage to change peoples lives
they just need to learn how to handle this lil cutie they are lovely
Watching Nellie run and sniff with her tail wagging makes my heart explode! I’m so proud of her!
Such a cute dog 😊❤
This is now my favourite episode
Clicker training is also a good way of connecting with shy and nervous cats as well. At least, that’s how it worked with a couple cats I know.
What a great story!
What amazing owners! Nellie feels so much better!❤
