We loved Malaga when we visited in 2018! We’re currently sitting at the Montreal airport (after traveling on the VIA from our home in Kingston). We’re flying in to Lisbon and then renting a car and driving towards Malaga. We’re doing 1 1/2 weeks in Motril ( because we love Nerja) and 1 1/2 weeks in Manilva. We’re hoping to find a spot to spend the bulk of the unforgiving Canadian winter!
That sounds like an amazing trip! Nerja is definitely on our list! We always stop at this one coffee shop in Fuengirola on our way from Malaga to our house, They serve the BEST manchados! ☕ Enjoy your trip!! 🙌
It seems to be a very clean place and pretty. I’m sure it’s not cheap. Just thinking, maybe providing an average cost for a home, 2 bedroom or 3 bedroom, just to get an idea. Thanks, great video. 👍🏻

I was wondering when you'd explore my fav city Malaga. I would move there in a heartbeat. Our Airbnb was on that street that was covered in tarp... The last week we were there... Much prep all week for holy week. We left the morning it started. Ahhhh the rooftop bars. The one we enjoyed was at the foot of the marina next to old town. We sat up there an googled the names on the many yachts. Never knew there were so many billionaire in Mexico and shady Kazakhstan... Found Malaga to be a good hub to get to many other places. Never rented a car just trains, bikes busses and planes got us around. The only downside to old town???... Anytime we went for lunch at the gazillion courtyard with many options to eat. As soon as we sat down at ground level was the overpowering sewage smell. So bad we had to do takeout. If you're doing lunch in old town.... Rooftop bars for sure or the marina. Can't wait to see your visit to Ronda and the Caminito del Ray. If you go to Rondo stay at the monetary on the cliff.... If you tell them your from 🇨🇦they might upgrade you to the best room on the corner of the top floor. Amazing views. Did you know there was a registry of monestaries, decommissioned nuneries, castles etc that have been converted to hotels etc in Europe... Many of them in Spain. Google "paradores in Spain"
Wow, thanks for sharing your experiences! 🙌 Málaga truly is a fantastic city with so much to offer, and we can’t wait to explore it more. Yes, we've been to Ronda and can't wait to go back (we visited long before our UA-cam days with the kids)! Caminito del Rey is definitely on our list, along with Córdoba-so many wonderful spots! The monastery on the cliff sounds amazing, and the paradores sound intriguing; we’ll look into that as well! We can’t wait to travel up north for the Camino! Wish we had unlimited $$ and time! 😂
@@livinlavidacosta... We stumbled upon a great botanical garden totally unexpected. All that walking to the garden, at the garden etc managed to get the best hotdog and beer before leaving. As we were getting into a taxi noticed a Hop-on-hop-off bus. Couldn't believe we didn't notice them before. That's one thing about Spain & Portugal.... Never walked so much in a day in my life. 30,000+ steps and more every day

Haha, you're so right about the weather! ☀ We do love the sunshine, but we’ve heard amazing things about the north, especially the food! I prefer meat over seafood, so I'll be in heaven with all the delicious northern dishes (Santi, on the other hand, loves his seafood)! 😄 We’ll definitely have to plan a foodie trip up there soon!

Absolutely! Málaga is known for being a clean and walkable city. It has plenty of parks, like Parque de Málaga (the one we walked in the video) and La Malagueta, where dogs are welcome. Many restaurants and cafés also have outdoor seating areas that accommodate dogs, making it a great place for pet owners. 🐾
Bernardo Vicente de Gálvez y Madrid, 1st Count of Gálvez (23 July 1746 - 30 November 1786) born in Málaga,was a Spanish military leader and government official who served as colonial governor of Spanish Louisiana and Cuba, and later as Viceroy of New Spain. Gálvez's actions aided the American war effort and made him a hero to both Spain and the newly independent United States. The U.S. Congress endeavored to hang his portrait in the Capitol, finally doing so in 2014.[2] He was granted many titles and honors by the Spanish government, which in 1783 appointed him viceroy of one of its most valuable territories, New Spain, succeeding his father Matías de Gálvez y Gallardo.While somewhat forgotten in the United States, Gálvez remains in high esteem among many Americans, particularly in the southern and western states that once formed part of Spain's North American territory.[3] Gálvez Day is celebrated as a local holiday in Pensacola, and several places bear his name, including Galveston, Texas and Galvez, Louisiana. The Malaga man who gave the United States of America its name George Washington adopted the name after Luis de Unzaga, a military officer from Malaga, used it in a letter. This governor of Louisiana, a promoter of free trade and the dollar as a currency, retired to Malaga and was responsible for the construction of La Alameda That credit corresponds to Luis de Unzaga y Amézaga (Malaga, 6 April 1717-Malaga, 21 June 1793), a soldier of Basque descent who was born beside the cathedral and who was also to go down in history as one of the great champions of American independence. And also, for giving the country its name. This surprising discovery was made by Malaga professors Frank Cazorla, Rosa García Baena and José David Polo Rubio, authors of the biography 'El gobernador Luis de Unzaga. I know that you guys prefer the good wheather but you should come to visit the north. The weather is **meh** but the food is better.
