DB9 owner, just friendly advice but do not jump a DB9 like you just did because you will fry modules. I'd highly recommend just replacing the battery or turning on the front lights while you're jumping to soak up the initial spike.
If this is a flood damage car then you’re either extremely lucky or troubles are just around the corner (for the future owner). For me I would’ve stripped the interior to check each and every electrical connection of the car to be absolutely sure that they were all ok. But; absolutely gorgeous car. Absolute stunner.
I would definitely remove the seats and carpets and remove all the modules and spray electrical cleaner in all the pins. Clean up all the earth points under the carpets etc etc..... Another great video chaps....
Guys. There's lots of modules under the carpet. Get them out and dry them. You'll probably need to recalibrate the roof, windows and seats once you've dried then out. It's same on BMWs
Especially flood damage cars they are cleaned so well it's hard to say it's been flooded it's the hidden damage to the wiring modules etc even if they seem fine now when things stat to rott out and wires start breaking in random places. It won't be a fun car anymore
I think you’ve touched lucky with that one. I’ve been selling salvage for over 22 years hundreds & hundreds of cars only ever bought 2 flood damaged both were a nightmare.
You took helluva risk starting a flood damaged car like that. Water in the engine plus a cold start - engine destroyed! Even an oil change would have increased your odds - any water in the oil, you’d know not to start it.
Nice car guys. Sometimes flood cars from copart get a full valet before going to auction. Anyway... a broken Aston is better than no Aston😂😂. Top job guys. Happy new year.
Mate yay you bought an A M DB9, remove seats remove carpets , remove E C U ' s , clean all contacts , rust will play havoc with your car computers clean all areas with warm damp cloth & leave a dehumidifier overnight hopefully you won't have any problems 🤣🤣🤣 anyway it's a risky thing that you take (as they say it's your call)
Everyone saying give it to your dad he deserves it , just remember they have just taken over a lock up and had to fit it out , this all needs paid for , eventually I’m sure his dad will get a nice car for all the hard work he has put into repairing / fixing the cars, to buy this car even for salvage would still cost a pretty penny and needs to be paid for upfront , I’m sure they would love to keep the car and one day will be able to , but by buying and turning them around to sell quickly will keep cash flow and allow them to move on to bigger and better vehicles for content for us all. One thing I would agree with you have to check and clean all the electrically components as they will come back and bite you in the bum . The buyer of this car is going to want to know the history on this car and want some type of warranty I’m sure. Keep up the great content Gents 😊
Great videos, very interesting and entertaining, keep doing the good work, a fantastic looking Aston Martin, these high end cars get written off for nothing nowadays, usually due to huge hire car costs, their loss your gain 👍
Starting a flood car without even checking engine for oil or any water in it. You’ve been very lucky. Car looks too clean. Looks very dodgy. I do however hope you get a good car
Great car, did wonder if perhaps the car is water damaged, rather than flood damaged, And perhaps the roof has been leaking, but it would be odd, that such a high value car would end up at co-part for that. 🚗🕵
AM V12 engines take in water very easily. I know from experience having had to write off aV12 Virage. The replacement of the engine,if available, would have been £35000. A short video from the AM experts McGurk explains why Astons are prone to hydrolock.
Lovely car- no way it was flood damaged though. Inside, outside and engine bay immaculate! Like it had been freshly valeted. But the lie worked- I watched it!
Those copart scumbags ripped me off big time, I purchased a 2014 BMW 435D CAT N described as minor cosmetic damage, but after waiting for a while to get the damage repaired we discovered the 6 cylinder was running slightly off. After a bit of investigation I discovered a bent rod. When I went back to copart and complained about undisclosed damage they said it was my tough luck and said I should have checked the car better before bidding (even though we are not allowed to personally inspect
Apparently you have to be careful with trade plate placement, it needs to be on the front of the car, if the insurance wants to be difficult they can say we only insure what is between the plates, don’t take my word for it but check it out..

Daniel Craig eat your heart out! Love it - serious bit of kit.
😂😂😂😂
Why do u take so long to do anything were u waiting for the jump pack to die or what Fing about kid knows nothing daddy daddy

You will soon find out the damage when you start taking the relays apart. Copart clean and valet the high value wrecks that's why its dry.

Change oil and filter take out plugs check the starter
BIG engine cars you MUST connect your booster direct to battery. Your dad is correct.

Ed, you gotta give this to your dad for all his hard work! 🥰

Great result lads with that one,👍🏻
Seen it on ebay had one from new great cars good luck with the sale
Let your dad have the Aston Martin car for working with you he deserves it
He's not Matt Armstrong pal 😂
Yh don't think he could insure a 6.0 v12 Aston martin at his age, maybe 5 years time he could, also they probs only get 18mpg nice car tho
@@CuriousGamer022 Pretty sure Dad is not younger than his son 😉
@@venomBound nah I meant him not his dad haha
Great car Shame it can't go to ur dad
Wetvac of the carpets will not remove the water below the carpet. You have to remove the carpet and sound deadening then wash and dry it completely.
Cracking podcast as usual Lads beautiful motor that'll suit the ol'e man well
Love this video! Lovely car and a happy dad!

good video, looked an easy fix :D

DB9 such a beautiful car
Cracking video guys I'm on a similar journey can't wait to see what you do next
James bonds car should be named 007 ! 😮😊
Spray the underneath of the seats with the lithium grease😂
Should watch matt Armstrong videos on the repair of this Astin Martin
Dont tell him that - he needs to create his own identity and not try to appear like Matt 🤭
Great content am so glad it's not another corsa, good luck with the car
dont worry about the weather ...its shining on you boys . atb
Seat needs to be fully pushed forward then it’ll go back. I had the same on a 05 DB9
Wouldn’t class a spilt bottle of water on the drivers side flood damaged 😂😂
Will be interesting to see how long it keeps going. Flooded cars are notorious.
Interesting you say that. I have never seen a video of a flooded car 5 years down the line.
How much is it a cat and cant find email
Has the car sold yet?
What’s happening with the McLaren?
Can I ask how much did you pay for it
Price please if you don’t mind Thanks
Lovely car, it’s definitely on my bucket list to own an Aston…. 👍
Give us a guide price for the Aston ?
01:32 secret switch, wonder what that does ha
Put fully charged battery on it never mess with top of range systems it’s not a Corsa , good luck

Why is the registration plates covered up? I thought UK cars have a reg no for life? I am not form the UK.
They are covered when delivered on the transporter from copart !
@@MaxMax-th7uz If I may ask why do they do that and why is it kept covered? Just curious about it.
That car has Dad written all over it! Follow mat armstrongs footsteps, his dad got a ferrari lol
Laurel and Hardy 😂😂😂
Matt Armstrong rolls was cleaned by co part
What a result
I was thinking like Mat Armstrong "Dad this is yours"
I dont really believe this car was flooded tbh
Give it to your dad he deserves it
There's a lot of squinting going on. I think the resemblance is definitely closer to Father Christmas!!
The thieving staff at copart missed the wind deflector !!!!
Good score , give it to your dad
Should do a full servic first 😮
100% Dads 👍
be a good son and givw it to your dad
Nice car 👍👍
Someone got lucky.
Beautiful car
I didn't know copart washed damaged cars before sending them to customers.

I would not off started the car could be water in the engine oil should of changed the oil and service the car
