Unsubbed yesterday, and when he said: "I remember the items I got back in vanilla tbc, I don't remember the highest titanforge I got in in Legion". Hit me right in my heart... Good old benediction
I still remember the first time I got a piece of Tier gear from Molten Core. I could tell you the player's name's that were in the raid and what boss it dropped from.
Quel’Serrar. Doing that fucking headache of surviving Onyxia breath attack, and than after she died, hoping the sword wouldn’t despawn the body with all the loot... but walking around Ironforge with that sword, I felt like an elite amongst tanks
I'll never forget obtaining Bryntroll, the Bone Arbiter from Marrowgar as a Blood DK. So hype. Now i'm using some PvP two hander that rolled stupidly high ilvl. Great.
Blizzard is slowly turning into Disney and WoW is turning into the Last Jedi. Like how Disney attacked the fans and called them the problem and claimed that last jedi has no problems at all, people who watched it are just stupid.
Oof... I can't tell which is worse. The fact that this vid is now 3 years since the time I watched it or the fact that there are people who sub to this game still thinking anything is going to change.
Yes, he’s still a loser gamer, with no real life. You freaks are worthless pieces of human excrement, you contribute, literally NOTHING actually useful for society.
I couldn't agree more... I see it as they are replacing the fun created content with RNG timewalls. I feel they believe its easier and faster to create rng timewalls as opposed to creating content that will last the same amount of time. I understand they may be frustrated that they create content and players consistently blow through it like its nothing.... but I still feel that they , the devs, are getting lazy and falling back on WQs and RNG for the "perfect" drop way too often.
Idk about other people but when ever I blew through content, I would go pvp. That is the beauty of having good pvp and good pve, if you get bored with one, you just go do the other. Just back and forth constantly.
This video just made me realize that I log in everyday strictly due to addiction and not due to enjoyment or fullfillment. Its a never ending cycle of "hoping it will be better."
I hate to say it but this feeling hit me towards the start of Legion, I kept playing, and kept playing, 30+ hours a week, then 20, then just raid nights, then I realised exactly how you have realised, this amazing game is not amazing anymore, its soulless
Look at Wrath: You had emblems of Trumph, noobie farming friendly, you got decent enough gear to step into raids and you were getting some emblems of frost so even as a noobie doing dungeons, you could get a raid item eventually! SO then you're ready to play in raids because you don't suck as much due to some experience you gained... Tokens and emblem of frost from ICC, you could gradually farm your pieces, you knew how long it'll take to get pieces of your set, bravo, you go every week to get full set then get tokens in guild setting and you keep progressing to HC and get more tokens and more gear, bravo, rewarding and metered experience. No one will get all gear on day one due to BS titanforge. PVP, you get shit beaten by full wrathful gear, you grind your ass off in arena and BGs eventually you earn enough honour and rating to buy gear you want and become the holy pala that 1v5s in BG against furious geared noobs aspiring to be like YOU. Bravo, rewarding and satisfaction!
Couldn't agree with you more! Starting out getting the crap beat out of you to 1v5ing in BGs was one of the best feelings I've had in WoW. Also I will never understand why on earth they got rid of PvP vendors! I would visit the vendors so often to see what I can eventually get. I would shift, right click them to see how awesome I would look aswell lol
Yeah nowadays you farm rep and by the time you get the 350 items you have way better stuff from dungeons already and that's the only thing you can realistically farm for.
When did they get rid of Honor/Conquest vendors? I quit back in MoP and back then they were still in the game, I came back due to friends wanting me to raid in BFA, so I have no idea if it was in WoD or Legion or whenever.
I completely misunderstood how Azerite traits would work when I played Beta. These traits are one of the most annoying, least fulfilling, and confusing things to ever be added to the game. I hate them so, so much. I hate the fact that I need to sim every single piece I get because I legit have no idea what traits are good, but then also keep every Azerite piece I get because I don't know when Blizzard will decide that one of my traits is too OP and give it the Gladiator Warrior treatment. This is probably my least favourite thing right now when it comes to BFA, but it's not the only thing I'm not liking. Quick shout out to Warfronts and Islands for being 2 highly promoted expansion features that are actually some of the least fun content I have ever had the misfortune of experiencing.
Warfronts should have been a rotating event. darkshore should have been in the game already and darkshore shuold have been up when arathi was down for each side. I would have added a third as well outright that was exclusively a new pvp mode similar to back in wotlk large scale assault. Islands are actually.. not too bad of an idea, but I think they're not varied enough. It should have been called expeditions and not been restricted to shitbasket islands. These are the types of times they could have generated a lot of content procedurally, one of the few fucking times... and all they did was leave in this couple various scripted bullshit.
warfront is such a fraudulent experience it cannot stay like this for the rest of the expansion. Island on the other hand if they add lot more cosmetic item it "could" be worthwhile. Then again i thought terrains are auto generated like diablo 3, sadly it wasn't.
The real problem is not Azerite but the fact that this is a single expansion feature. If Blizz wanted to rebuild the system now - it would take a long time, probably around 8.3 to implement in game. By that time the exp would be almost over so there is no point in putting so much work into that. They will slap a hotfix here and there but I would not expect a major overhaul.
I spent the last few months of Legion purely doing gold making. About a month from BFA I bought a three month subscription, leveled one alt up in BFA, then stopped. It's just not fun. No classes I played, and I have all but three at 110, felt good. They all feel shit.
Yea.... 'inventory full' I was thinking oh... so they drop so often now you just leave them on the ground? Okay. Glad I'm not subbed to this dumb game.
LOL, I remember spending a month trying to get sul thraze the lasher. Getting it was so damn rewarding. Then saving up enough to buy a skull flame shield. Ah, such good gaming experiences for me. I left during cata when wotlk made epics mince meat. Plus having full ulduar 25 gear and being told gearscore wasnt high enough for toc 25, ass.
@@alexbrown2529 I was one of those lucky bastards that just found sul thraze randomly on a mob. I was more upset that even then after finding my first epic I replaced it with a blue 3 lvls later
I loved WoW when your character were nobody in Azeroth. Players were bunch of people who just went raiding or doing quest. Now, every player is a "Champion" the savior of Alliance or Horde. It breaks the immersion of the whole world which i fell love in a first place. I really liked how Kalimdor and Eastern kingdoms felt a huge world back then. Feeling that you just were one of the civilian who tried to become one of the powerfull person in Azeroth like Arthas, Jaina, Thrall or Muradin. One of the big things were socializing in the Chat. You have to communicate with people to actually achieve something. I think that was the gamechanger i MMORPG games in the first place. Now you just que in a random dungeon teleporting instantly to the dungeon. Everyone knows their role and no-one speaks a word while running the dungeon unless tank or healer fucks up. I've played the new expansion and i agree with you. It's not the same unique game anymore. Im sorry for my english, it's not my native language. :(
I totally agree with you. So much games now days try to lure you in with the you-are-hero crap. Too much of it brings a hero-crissis. Where the players feel like they are too powerfull and nothing else is improtant anymore. Everything loses its value and the heroes fall into the in-game depression.
To some extent the player has earned respect from the game itself. The player at high levels into the game has proven they are powerful and competent. By doing quests they have solved hundreds if not thousands of (sometimes) dire issues in the world. By the time you hit level 70 you have accomplished more than Jaina Thrall and Muradin combined.
@@ebolachanislove6072 Indeed! And that max level was really hard to achieve in the first place. I remember when i saw lvl 60 max players and admire them how much they have put effort to reach max level. Nowdays you can buy max level and heirlooms to boost your xp gain.
I began WoW on vanilla, stopped on WOTLK. And years after I stopped this game that gave me so much fun, and love for the adventure I was living, I tried BFA. And I absolutely agree with what you are saying. 100% My thoughts. There is no communication, you're not living the thrilling adventure you were living back when the game was actually difficult. When taking on a dungeon meant putting a team together, which took time, and being solid together. Communcating and living this adventure together. Grow together. Its ALL gone.
@@Matthiaslipknot For me that died in MoP. (Huh so did the story come to think of it.) I did my first dungeon as a tank and everything in the dungeon was being one shot by our hunter faster than I could charge to it. Then I tried an LFR run and the first boss was killed by the party before I (the tank) loaded into the instance.
Very true. I think Blizzard could do some really awe-inspiring things but the SUITS -- the businessmen -- are keeping them down; limiting more than just the budget.
Its not the developers. Its the game designers. The original game designers, Like Jeff Kaplan for example, who were part of the original Mike Morhaime team, are gone. Blizzard is essentially an Activision Brand now, and the game reflects that.
Developer is a blanket term that include creative leads as well as game directors. Unless you are talking about coders? But no one blames coders/programmers for the game's direction.
@someone667 there's a very distinct difference between "developer" and "people making design decisions". devs are coders... the latter is more in line with executive production. It's important to note because the DEVELOPERS are the ones who take the chance to go on social media, but end up getting flamed. executive producers are either invisible to the public, or have teams of PR staff working to protect their reputations.
@ilovedrugseveryday Mike, and Chris, and Rob Pardo (he was very open about the crap he went through prior to leaving), and the entire Wildstar team, and countless others who have since moved on.
Well you are wrong about that. Game developers are not necessarily the coders themselves. In fact, the coders generally have little to no say as to how the game turns out, other than if they claim there are limitations to things that they were suppose to be doing.
Vanilla will have a niche audience at best. People who enjoy todays games won't put up with the archaic systems in vanilla. Just look at how many threads there are about flying on the forums for proof of this.
vanilla won't be nearly as popular as people seem to think it will be, methinks . this coming from someone who played Vanilla-TBC, and tried playing on a Private Server recently.
we all do but its never enough we always want more its never enough we want to be kids again and start new characters on private servers but its never enough its doesn't feel the same we always want more
I unsubbed, thanks Asmongold. "I remember the items I got back in vanilla tbc, I don't remember the highest titanforge I got in in Legion" got me right there.
I just cancelled my sub. Something that I never felt like doing in Legion. They don't even make you go through the process to give feedback on your reason for cancelling your subscription. I clicked "Cancel Subscription" it threw up a box and asked me if I was sure and then nothing after I clicked yes. It just cancel is without any boxes or ticks to check to explain my reason. They just don't care anymore apparently
I also unsubbed and I thought it had bugged out when I did it because I remember that there was a "tell us why" part to canceling your sub in the past and this time I didn't see anything of the sort. Honestly it made me feel like they didn't care if I subbed or canceled.
@@skannerz22 Eh. I'm just not having fun with WoW in BFA so I'm not going to pay for it. I've hardly logged in in 2 weeks and dont really have much desire to anymore. So I'll save the 15 bucks and spend it elsewhere. It's not a matter of being weak as much as it is the game not being worth my 15 bucks
If it's useless feedback, that's because of the mechanisms they had allowed it to collect. Any input from an unhappy customer, especially systematic and quantifiable, is always useful. They could have defined a few things they were interested in, even. "Did you quit because you were unhappy with the game? Y/N" Even that simple of a question, over years, can let you know if more players are happy or not relative to the population.
nipa 101 no this is Activision. Blizzard had always been about what is the best experience for the players... and I’m talking about all their games in the late 90’s to the early 2000’s. It is why they had become titans in the industry . This incarnation of Blizzard is about spreadsheets and graphs. They could salvage WoW this very moment. They could change and fix all the issues the game has... but... that would go outside of their charts and projected precious budget, and the Lords of Greed sitting on their thrones in Activision would never be happy about going outside of their profits. Play Destiny 2, it’s very eerie similar how the games are alike now
I just want normal loot back. I want vendors back, I want to be able to reforge my gear so when I get a trash piece it can become not as trash. That's all I want.
@@Hazelnaria i still dont understand how people can complain about mop. In my eyes mop felt like the last complete expansion. The balancing was great, awesome pve content, everyone had different professions (not alchemy bc the rest is useless), very less bugs compared to legion, big graphic improvement, i play since classic and i never missed out an expansion and i never had so much fun like in mop. Wod was clearly the shittiest expansion. I also think legion wasnt that shit at all. I had much fun in pve (first time in my life bc i had no fun anymore in pvp due to unbalanced classes). Ofc many things should have been improvement. But many good things came into game. Magetower challange, artefactskins, mythic +, orderhall with their awesome class questlines for all classes and i enjoyed them all.
If you think Blizzards communication is bad as a US player try being an EU one, I have been playing since BC and can honestly say i have never seen a Dev post directly to the EU forums or join in any conversations.. The only Dev posts we get are copy/pasted over from the US forums by a CM.
johnyfartpants I mean in fairness the guys work in California. Sure they could assign a 3rd shift crew to cater for EU needs. Guessing they could never justify the manpower to their bosses to help you guys out. I mean Christ even East coast players like myself got screwed from patches in the past. I remember the Black temple patch wasn’t ready intill 10pm Tuesday night.
Totally agree, and surely we are reaching a time where there shouldn't even be different regions for the clients and maybe even one joined up realm? Eve-Online has had one server network to cover the whole globe for well over a decade? When you look at how dead most realms are nowadays i'm pretty sure this could be done for WoW?
I would rather grind boars in Elwynn Forest as a warrior in Vanilla than run around doing world quests in BFA. Doing world quests feels WAY more 'grindy' as well as boring and unfulfilling. The game play you have shown in this video emphasizes another reason why I feel BFA (and previous expansions) are bad - you don't have to focus or think about anything (eg. health, mana, etc). Just go gather up a bunch of mobs, roll your face over your keyboard, and you will kill them all. No thrill or challenge. No fear or possibly of dying and suffering the consequences. It's just shit. Like many people I have loved this game for 13+ years, but I have to be honest and say since Cata the game has worsened continually. I remember the hate towards MOP but compared to Legion and BFA, MOP was a masterpiece.
@@DarkRavin07 so then dont farm it idiot. Once your neck hits lvl 23 you literally dont need to farm anymore AP.. and its not hard at all anymore to hit lvl 23 cause the ap reduction. Stop complaining about content you think you HAVE to do when you really dont
@@DarkRavin07 the game is just a diablo copy paste. Its funny how years ago I was calling this game world of diablo because the hack n slash aspect of the game (basically every piece of relevant content is about killing everything in your path to collect loot) was so strong but now its literally diablo mmo version
i really hate, when the hater post a trash comment: "wow is trash", etc, and blizz tell him, tell me more about your problem or be more specific, but when the real players make contructive feedback about the game, blizzard dont give a shit about our opinión...
It's PR. It's to put a damper on negative feedback. They have no intention to listen. They just want for the responses to be more positive in case Daddyvision or stockholders take a look. There is nothing to be confused about. They are bottom tier developers with bottom tier mods, making a bottom tier game with bottom tier communication and trying to milk as much profit as possible with as little effort as possible. tldr; corporate world
Not wrong about loot. I still to this day remember all the items, even the shit ones I got and used. I started as a Ret Paladin in Wrath. My very first epic 2H was the Titansteel Destroyer that you could craft with blacksmithing. I was beyond ecstatic when I got this item, even though it was only a crafted and basically garbage. I then ended up running Utgarde Pinnacle on Heroic everyday until the Red Sword of Courage dropped off of King Ymiron. A tanking 1H Sword! Then from that point I main tanked all the rest of Wrath. My first big tank weapon drop was from Naxxramas 25, which was none other than Last Laugh 1H tank axe off of KT. I remember for a shield I had The Skull of Ruin from Naxxramas 10. I literally had this shield all the way until TOGC launched because I couldn't get anything else to drop. At the time I hated this shield because I felt like it was the bane of my existence. Now I wish I had it back. It's sad though. I main a SV Hunter currently. I have a 380 2H Polearm that I got out of my +10 cache. I have no clue what it's even called and didn't even feel great about getting it. I just RNG'd a weapon and hardly worked for it. Amazing how a mythic raid tier level weapon doesn't excite me in the slightest compared to how a Heroic Dungeon 1H did in Wrath.
I relate to the final paragraph on a spiritual level. I'm a Beast Mastery Hunter with a 370 G'huun gun that I got out of the 4 Mythics Weekly Quest Cache a few weeks ago. I have no idea what the thing is called, and I was only slightly happy when I got it. My reaction was more like "Oh, nice." relief that I won the game-of-chance while some of my friends didn't. There was no genuine feeling of reward, something I haven't felt for any of my loot in BFA. My only pieces of gear that I even know the name of are my trinkets: Lustrous Golden Plumage (is that even right?), and Harlan's Loaded Dice. I want the feeling back of hunting for your gear and being rewarded for pursuing it.
Similar story, I FARMED AND FARMED to upgrade my mace back in BC to be able to stun fuckers and own in arenas. You used to WORK for gear in the mmo and be rewarded for your efforts, and it wasn't shortlived. People respected the grind, now no one gives a fuck. The game has become profit and not enjoyment. Small dopamine hits rather than hard work and the payoff you get from the hard work.
My main problem is game is flagged as mmorpg and after 12 years playing it feals more and more like mmoarcade ... they removed proper skills after wotlk .. they removed hit skills and defense and weapon skills .... they removed resistance ... spell ranks ... like from expansion to expansion they just removing and removing staff what makes any good rpg actually rpg + all the problems you mention ... its sad that in 2018 i often log to kronos vanilla server and actually have more fun then in proper wow
the end of the true RPG aspect was when dodge, parry and spirit where all removed as actualy optainable stats infasvour of Versastiliy, reforging along qwith these stats gave players a choice in how they play
I remember how I started playing wow when Zul'Gurub was added in vanilla WoW, and how I thought their gear and mounts looked amazing. Those were the good ol' days.
Thank you Asmongold for your in-depth analysis and insight always appreciated. it’s sad to see World of Warcraft in this state and honestly I’m glad I avoided this expansion. all we can hope for now is a good classic hopefully blizzard doesn’t fuck that up
-implying Activision blizzard will not fuck classic up with level 60 boosts and paid loot crates with a .05% chance to drop [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker]
I mean is there anything NEW besides you know the zones you wont ever visit after getting exalted, except killing the world boss maybe once a week... The warfront which is shit, the island expedition which is shit.. Is there really anything new? Raids aren't a new concept, dungeons aren't a new concept, mythic + isn't a new concept, world quests isn't a new concept, the lore feels..just weird, I still hate the fucking horses. Incursions or however that's spelled that is coming up is just Legion invasions and nothing new.. Is there really something truly new like the warfront and island expedition in this expansion.. That's actually fun to do? No, the two CORE NEW stuff that they put out are both fucking horrendous, not fun and just truly garbage. And Blizzard wont change a thing about them since they're a bunch of delusional degens.
Sums up my views as well. Since WoD, I've known, even when I want to try it again, I cannot trust blizzard to not take a bunch of money and then leave me with nothing to do after a single month.
No worries, it is just a bunch of useless crybabies that cannot do anything but state their worthless opinion because they are not having fun anymore. The game is just fine, you are welcome to join.
I mean leveling in a completely new expansion knowing you won't get any new exciting abilities for your class sucks. Knowing what awaits you at 120 is farming world quests over and over sucks. Playing classes that are so slow, clunky and a lot weaker than before sucks. Knowing Blizzard doesn't care what people want but just want to do whatever they want sucks. I'm done with WoW.
@@EE-wu7kz daily quests weren't essential though. I mean i only did dailies for either rep in wotlk for the enchantments or in TBC to get gold in isle of quel'danas (dont remember the exact name). WQ now are essential to progression and they just suck. Even in Legion after some time people were done with them. Personally i am quitting BFA aswell. Even in WoD i had more fun especially for the first 2-3 months and in BRF (it was awesome). Also fury warrior with 1handed weapons was a thing
In what way are world quests essential to the game if not to get rep? If you don't care about rep you could skip world quests completely. I agree WoD was actually pretty good the first 1-2 months of the game.
Main war campaing is based on 7th legion / horde part reputation. Patchfinder similarily. The main EQ piece (neck) ilvl is mostly boosted by getting rep with Bronzebeard faction which can only be gotten by farming world quests. The whole "artifact power" is in big part connected to world quests, because other options of getting it are usually mindless grinding stuff. All in all, world quests were always quite boring. In Legion though, they gave you atleast a small amount of thrill, while now they are just simply a chore. Its like its Legion 0.5 for the BFA, not only in World quests, but also in other things.
This happens with any creative industry. The talent and soul is sucked out by sales and marketing types and high-brown 'educated' developers that focus more on pushing boundaries and reinventing the wheel than providing players with what they want. EVE Online has an elected CSM that acts as a medium between the developers and the community. Maybe WoW would benefit from something like this.
Truth be told, the Blizzard that made warcraft 3, Vanilla WoW and WotLK has veen ship of theseus'd into oblivion. Few if any of the original developers still work on it today, and from those that do even fewer have any sway in the direction the game follows...
And that's why Eve is the best mmorpg ever created, eventho i just dont have time to play it and also my friends don't play it so.. Eve ain't that fun without friends. I'm not biased either, ive played both mmorpgs... wow vanilla,bc,wotlk eve - ~2008-2013 difference between eve and wow... Eve constantly and linearly grow and get better with every single update , wow is like a mentally unstable wife I think there hasn't been a single patch/expansion in Eve wich wasn't wanted by the playerbase... (ok there's one.. captains headquarters, noone actually cared or wanted it... :D )
Played heavily since TBC with a few small breaks in between. But this BFA, after I hit 120, I started doing some dungeons, some wq, then one week later I'm on a flightpath in between wqs, realise, not this shit again, alt+f4'd and never came back. You are absolutely right developers are out of touch, so many small things that make the whole annoying...
I last played during TBC many years ago. I miss playing a lot, the pvp was epic. I am honestly tempted to play the newest expansion very casually. How do things compare to back then?
@@breadcat6454 dont do it i quit mid WOTLK came back to BFA release, hit 120 tried pvp 10min ques no thx and the lvling scaling bs ruins pvp horrifically. Just a warning. Game has been butchered
Personaly, on the randomness of drops to keep the player playing, I felt that coming way earlier, with the introduction of daily/weekly quests. Instead of playing as much as you want to get your stuff as soon as you can. You were stopped in your progression by some arbitrary limit, so you don't play too much. That moment I had to log every day/week, instead of playing as I wanted. The game started to feel like the hamster wheel. I wasn't rewarded for playing the game, I was rewarded for attending the game.
You're a fuckin' seer! Daily quests came out way back in Burning Crusade (iirc) and you saw titanforging/randomness on gear coming all the way back then?? You should be a professional gambler, you soothsayer!
I'm talking about the mechanisms to keep the player to log in the game. How those mechanisms, in my opinion, were introduced with daily/weekly quests. Like the randomness described by Asmongold, daily/weekly quests, doesn't reward the player playing the game, but the player logging in every day/week.
In the end, weekly and daily quests aren't a bad thing. It's having supplemental content around those quests. You want to do them when you first login because it's rewarding, but you need more than that. My main gripe with Destiny 2 is that, even now, daily and weekly things are the only thing you login to. You need things to grind for.. things to make you want to keep coming back when you're at work or school. When you've finished all of your timed stuff, then what?
"I took that failed test with a smile cos I knew later that day I was going home to buy my Season 4 Mace". This is the story of my twenties. Except substitute failed tests for suck-ass days at work.
The badge/emblem system wasn't too bad, but I didn't like how it made earlier raids in an expansion more and more irrelevant over time. Also there was literally absolutely nothing wrong with the honor point system.
Legendary video right here. I remember that this was the first Asmongold video I watched 2 years ago and I had never even played WoW ever. When I think about it I don't even know why the fuck I watched this video but man... I'm glad I did. Love you Asmon.

This game went to shit many xpacs ago, there was nothing like swimming across the lake from Elwynn Forrest to Darkshire and being mauled apart by lvl 20 wolves (skulls when you're like lvl 6 or so). The little things like this, the sense of exploration and atmosphere have gone and Blizzard can never get that back. #RIP WoW
I believe that youre wrong. The game can recover. Just change the game next xpac. Make it bard. Make it fulfilling. If they start a new thing rather than followinv the last 5 xpacs it will get better, even back to vanilla.
MMO right now is to rush max level, grind gear, repeat next expansion. There is no sense of adventure and escapism which is what every game is all about. The real charm of vanilla is being able to explore the unknown, discovering stuff of legends and myths. Following the lore, hoping to discover something no one has ever seen before. People FEEL the value of their achievements though discovery, like legendary gear and new spells. This is the reason MMO is dying. Everything right now has no value. All you need to do is repeat the same exact thing till you get what you want. You get everything through repetition. The difference of the best from the not, is how much grind they do.
Don't forget the wonders of looking at the landscape while taking a simple stroll through the maps and the excitement we had during those hours as a noob before we got those things called mounts ^^ loved those days
@@AflipKID91 The world in every MMO are huge but it's not possible to appreciate it anymore, nor will we feel the sense of adventure. The world is NOT necessary anymore, and we are focused on reaching max level to do max level raid. I don't mind mounts as long as the sense of adventure exist. Which it does not anymore, cause mounts are there so we can level faster and reach max level to do max level stuff. Story/Lore itself is NOT necessary cause our sense of accomplishment is having BiS Gear, not really the excitement of beating evil and saving the world. We do NOT feel accomplished by bringing peace back to the world, but rather by getting the best Items through repetitions. Remember when the 1st legendary dropped? Remember when the 1st raid was beaten? it become a world wide news that made everyone feels all sorts of emotions. How do you feel getting legendaries now? or artifacts which is meant to be the best lorewise? None. Zero feelings, Zero sense of accomplishment cause every player will get it in a month.
Flaming Galaxy - Osu, Binding of Isaac & More! In classic, bc, wotlk, cata it wasn’t. Mist started the whole ‘no child left behind’ mentality. Mist was fun don’t get me wrong I loved it, but the system they introduced hurt wow big time.
@@fredrick1176 Im not sure if we are talking about the same thing. I'm referring to what Damn Surfer said. In games like destiny, they don't give you a catch up mechanism if you didn't play the expansion. With the way they have it now, I was able to play legion in the last month and I was able to catch up enough to people that I wasn't super far behind for BFA. If they didn't have this system, I would be forced to play legion by myself slowly until I was high enough to finally play BFA.
Yeah, Activision acquired Blizzard 10 years ago, and with WotLK (despite being a popular expansion) the problems already started to show, when WotLK was rushed to some degree (no Azjol Nerub expansion, no Gundrak raid, all raids except Ulduar and ICC had either an extremely lackluster design or had been recycled outright).
Before I used to think that was load of bullshit. But now I'm not so sure anymore. With all these dopamine-filled RNG systems it wouldn't surprise me that Activision has taken over completely.

And ya boi Asmon is telling 100% truth, and ya all know it, and ya all are ignored since Warlords of Dreanor, and ya all will be still ignored, because players never seem to understand how much they can change by stopping supporting their banks account. Big companies doesn't look at forums, that are looking at Bank account balance, and if they see increase or at least resonable income, than they think that people seem to like being ignored, and thus why they will keep doin that. Look at Path of Exile, and how developers are active among community, and how they talk with the community on streams, and how they care about our feedback, and even recently, they bring to life a Path of Exile community memes to existence. Its pretty good to be playing this game you know, I feel, like a developer is actually devoted into his piece of code. Ya, I recommend you to check that out, but be careful, you may be overwhelmed by the fact of how active people are here on global chat, and how ONLINE you can feel by playing this game, because for me, World of Warcraft stopped being Online game, because nobody is talking on chat, nobody is goofing around, nobody is taking care of ANYTHING in this game anymore. It is just an single player game with possibility to group up with people, that among this sick WoW community is considered as "PUG" or whatever thats mean, and that is only because It is someone from the group finder. Look at your game, and what it becomes. Look at it and ask yourself what you are actually doing for the love of God? You are playing online game only to mostly communicate with 10-20 people from your guild, and rest of the people treat as NPCs ? Because that how this game feels like, beside maybe on RP servers, there you can feel like being closed with group of very talkactive people with the bi polar syndrome and weird affection over one Tavern in the forest. WoW is dead, community there is dead, and the developers doesn't care about the game, they care about the $$$. Now, log back in to WoW, and play your game that has no reason, and complain about how it slowly decay, as It will never be good again.
100% True, but cracks had already started to show ahead of TBC. TBC set the foundation to how following expansions would work, ruining the powerful core gameplay of vanilla. Was pretty obvious to me when I finally got my hands on Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty that I was playing an Activision product.
Same, I even had more fun with wod. I did +10 the week it was possible and kept doing +10 and never got the loot I was there for, meanwhile I was getting links of titanforged socketed weapons/trinkets better than base +10 drops from m0. I don't want to play lottery game, I want hard earned epic phat loot that took weeks or even months to achieve so I can wave my big epen in town. I miss meaningful stats, bis lists etc. It's fine if your mastery sucks you're not supposed to wear everything just because it has higher ilvl or gearing isn't meaningful.
I did arena mostly, but I got some raiding gear for World PvP (MoP - pvp gear capped at 550 ilvl) and I always liked reforging because you could tweak tank items for dps since there was overlap. Neat feature that didn't need to be removed.
I'm going to be honest. I have purchased BFA, re-made my troll hunter which I was really looking forward to. I logged on, was introduced to this tutorial on how to play survival in baby steps, logged off. I waited for a couple of weeks to keep an eye on the state of the game and uhh. Let's just say I have about 3-5 minutes in BFA, have cancelled my subscription and haven't looked back. This is the only time in Blizzard history which I have not attempted one of their games... I will be re-subbing for classic WoW 100% though.. lol
A wow expansion is nowhere near a complete different game so don’t worry if you play everything else you can still say you played all of blizzards games
It had to come to this. It was predictable. All the changes that they made over time, one expansion after another, bit by bit, removing the core systems that made this an MMORPG, an epic and massive multiplayer RPG, into a hollow shell of a game, that's no more than a pointless, endless RNG grind, without any sort of fulfillment. It's sad though to see the dev team deflecting all these issues, comparable to a bunch of lawyers in court, pretending there's nothing wrong and all is well. It's us who don't know, who don't understand. I completely lost faith in this game and this dev team, all I can think of right now and here I seriously hope the ones responsible don't screw up, is with classic. Classic will come, hopefully soon, and we will finally have a proper MMORPG to play.
Assuming they focus on making Classic feel as _classic_ as possible, yes. It will be incredible. Sadly I have the feeling it'll fail because it'll be heavily monetised, or just fucked up for no reason.
I disagree. If there's fulfillment, it's not pointless. This is a game after all, a piece of entertainment, so when you get into it, you expect to have some fun, a good time. Now that's all subjective but from what I see, reading opinions on the Internet, talking with friends who played back them, the general consensus is that there was fulfillment in vanilla. Mostly because the game was flat out hard and you had clear objectives, objectives that once completed would give you joy and fulfillment. Getting your first mount (after saving up all your gold because it was scarce); reaching max lvl; getting that badass piece of armor you saw some dude wearing while you were roaming around the world. Among many other small things. The freaking feeling of progression, feeling stronger as you level up. The ability to put talents wherever you want. Like, how can you have an RPG in which there's no sense of progression, of customization. Everyone looks the same, everyone is the same. This is no longer an MMORPG, it's an MMOG. Bloody Spider-Man on PS4 has talent trees deeper than WoW's and here we are, 14 years after launch with those dumbed down talents that might as well not be there at all. It's pathetic. I'm not saying though vanilla wasn't a grind, or frustrating, because it was, of course it was. What I am saying is that, that grind made sense because you had an objective, a clear objective ahead of you, that was hard, but reachable and the world was freaking relentless on you. It's not like now, a walk in the park. The epic aspect of WoW was stripped away and that's a shame. Sure MMORPG's are time consuming, but it's always up to the player to manage the time spent online. And even though I'm very much looking forward to classic, I'm not the same person I was 13 or 14 years ago. Life changed and I will adapt the game to my life and not the other way around. All I ask is for them to deliver the game as it was, at its core, with flaws no doubt, but with quality.
If the Devs only care about analytics then the ONLY thing they will care about is when they start seeing a massive decline in $$$. Unfortunately the only way to save this game is to send it to the brink of death and stop playing for awhile.
i see a few comments in here saying they unsubbed, i quit playing years ago but i really dont think quitting WoW is an option for a lot of people. Asmon said it to Mconnel i saw when mconnel said he was gonna quit Asmon said "What are you gonna do" with a cheesey smile on his face because he knows the answer is literally nothing compared to playing a game like WoW where you can make the time fly by and it just keeps the days rollin. i really hope that the people DO come together and vote with their wallets but it'd have to be a very large number of people to shift the devs minds at this point. i remember dreaming of WoW going free to play back in cata, and i still think WoW shouldve gone buy to play a long time ago. i havent quit MMOs, i play runescape and we actually have Dev blogs weekly, a polling system so the community can vote on large amounts of updates. nothing goes live without the communities consent.
Damn this is so sad. He hasn't made any videos during BFA... I was always looking forward to him releasing videos on the game but that's so long gone now.
Here's the issue. If I quit now, and then play again in 6 months, I'll be caught up to where active players are within a week. Oh that's fun... Classic is gonna be huge, I can't wait. I'd rather spend months trying to get to 60 having to eat every pull dying over and over than pull a lever for gear some more.
Yes this is true. In Legion i quit during EN and came back for Antorus and was 960 due to catch up mechanics in two weeks while all these other people at 960 were grinding their fingers to the bone prior to that.
Lineage 2 released a *Classic* Version 2 weeks ago after 14 years as well. While the retail official server had hardly 5000 people total the classic server got 30.000 people back in the game from pure hype.So yeh judging from that i know that when Wow hits classic,it will draw SO MANY people, it may even make retail people angry
I felt this on the other end. While I was being active every patch and grinded so much for the end game gear, some dudes in the guild came back after months of being offline and had almost gained -20 my ilvl within a week or 2 of playing on evenings :/ It doesnt feel worth it to be elitist and to grind since some random noob you carry in a mythic+ might get a friggin titanforged item thats better than yours, teh carrier. It's so bad that it makes me laugh, ridiculous system.
Rangomal Vloudas Why would it make retail players angry? The only situation I can see it making them angry is if the more fanatical fanboy's see just how wrong the dev's are and that wont even matter because they will just go back to saying blizzard is perfect despite everything proving them wrong.
This is easy to say when the vast majority of WoW's lifespan is in a post-Activision merger environment. The merge happened in mid-2007. Everything from Zul'Aman onwards was made with Activision having merged with Blizzard. Sunwell Plateau, Ulduar, ICC, etc. Bad patches, great patches, and everything in-between. I think it's ridiculously naive to blame a bad expansion in 2014. or 2018 on a company decision made in... 2007. A decision that didn't even give Activision any authority over Blizzard's game development (hence MERGE not ACQUIRE). People need to face the fact that it's really Blizzard themselves that are fucking up; not anyone else's fault.
Jep, wrath had the first store mount exactly 1,5 years after Blizz got bought out! Yes Blizz got bought!! The only reason the name is ActivisionBlizzard is for the reputation and nothing else. If this was Activition buying any other studio there wouldn´t have been a name change!
Battle for Azeroth feels like it's the last straw for the playerbase. Blizzard saw that people were playing for hours on end farming old mounts and decided to make that RNG element a very prevalent part of current content to extend play time. The time-gating is also terrible. Oh, you want Dark Iron Dwarves? Just do every single 7th Legion World Quest for a couple of weeks. Make sure you do every single one to improve your rep yield. Then level it up without level boosting over the next few weeks to get that sweet heritage armour. Everyone's already levelled up their allied races and got the armour? Slap some heritage armour on old races, that way we can extend play time for players that haven't levelled those races before. Azerite Armour is a complete mess. I might as well not be wearing a Heart of Azeroth because it has nothing to do with anything, it might as well just be in my bag and I wear a necklace, in fact I'd rather that. Artifact Weapons were a stroke of genius and they felt good because Artifact Power was a currency, not another arbitrary level number (even though the weapons did have that as well). Azerite would work as a currency, in that when you had enough you could buy another trait for your armour. There is a problem with there being no vendors, and there is a problem with reputations, and there is a problem with Island Expeditions. Have Island Expeditions give you 7th Legion/Honourbound rep, armour and weapons from rarer enemies (Azerite Armour if you're lucky, which I believe is the threshold at which RNG should end) and "Great Sea Coins" (or something). You can go to a vendor with Great Sea Coins to buy chunks of Azerite, reputation for all of your faction's reputations and, for a lot of coins, some of the best weapons in the game but these should be really expensive. This gives 7th Legion/ Honourbound a repeatable way of gaining reputation and also gives you insentive to do Island Expeditions that isn't just Azerite. The fact that Island Expeditions didn't yield any reputation was an enormous oversight, it feels like they were made for that. I think Warfronts are fine, everyone overhyped them because they thought Warfronts would kind of fix the game but we were disappointed, doesn't make them bad just makes them underwhelming. What I would say, however, is that there is a problem with activity in the rest of the world besides Kul'Tiras and Zandalar. Make killing enemies in the open world besides current content give you "Warlord of [insert name of continent] Points" (or something). Getting "Warlord of The Eastern Kingdoms Points" will let you buy rewards from vendors and get you "Slayer of the Eastern Kingdoms" title, and it would be the same for Kalimdor, Northrend, Pandaria, Outland, Draenor and the Broken Isles. And people would be doing this for years to come, people three expansions from now could say "I haven't done the Slayer of Northrend title yet I should try and go for that sounds like a grind but it'll be worth it for the title". Removing Tier Sets was a complete joke and G'huun should have dropped the Blood Tic mount. I liked the idea of a title for being one of the first to kill G'huun Mythic on your server, they should have had it for Mythic Dungeon final bosses as well, the more the merrier and it won't hurt anybody. Also I'm a huge advocate of trash and bosses in raids dropping tokens (maybe "Blood Tokens" or something in Uldir") that, if nothing drops for you, you can go away afterwards to a vendor and still get a weapon or some armour or something. World Quests should be for farming end-game Azerite Armour (up until heroic/mythic dungeons and raiding), Azerite and getting EXTRA rep, they shouldn't be the main way players get rep for fucks sake. Also there should be PvP World Quests, like kill enemies in this zone or in this area. And World Quests should give a currency that you can go to a vendor and buy weapons with. Is it even worth talking about professions? Just make them completely cosmetic. "I'm gonna go into Leatherworking so I can get the toy that puts a tent down" or "I'm gonna go into engineering so I can get that robot cat mount" or "I'm gonna go into Jewelcrafting so I can get that elemental companion" or "I'm gonna go into alchemy so I can craft that potion that makes me look like a leper gnome". Stop trying to make professions relevant content, it doesn't work. They should be cosmetic only. If you want to make it relevant make it an option for me to craft certain tokens that I can vendor for phat lootz. I'm so disappointed. Maybe my suggestions are dogshit, I get that, but at the end of the day I'd be happier with any of that than what we got. I'm just not happy with BfA whatsoever and valid criticism and discussion seems to be a thing of the past for Blizzard. It makes me so sad.
Professions should be a way to empower your character. I think its okay with alchemy, but other prifessions suck Like create a crafting gear so it will be bis pre-raid and after with reagents from raid! This couldnt be accomplished because of how whole system with keys and titanforging works - i didnt want to go for leatherworking to craft 380 gear because i knew i could get it in keys and guess what? Yeah, both craft slots are 385 mythic 10 titanforged. The system sucks
kyoshee Professions are a relic from an age long passed. They used to be incredibly helpful but they've trickled down into redundancy. The only things we really care about from professions any more are the toys, mounts and pets (besides some flasks from alchemy, you're absolutely right about alchemy, alchemy's great, we love alchemy, alchemy alchemy alchemy, it's a god-tier profession). I think to modernise professions all they can do is make the system revolve around cosmetics, but each to their own I suppose.
@@Healthtymento If Blizz wants to work with THIS system then yeah, you got the point. But i really like to see that "relics from an age long passed" shine bright again. The problem is system needs to be reworked completely...
Gonna toss in my 2 cents here even though its probably never going to be read. The other problem with RNG and basically everyone having the same gear is that there is no reason not to quit/take a break. If you stop playing right this second, you can come back in 2 months or whatever and catch right back up with everyone who has been playing the whole time. After a week or even a few days back you can get your ilevel back to about where 70-80% of people are, then after another week or so (RNG willing) can get it back up to where 90-95% of people's ilevel is at. And the flip side of that coin is that the only reward you can possibly get for keeping playing, is a few more titan/warforged items which have stats that have been substantially nerfed for BFA. Is it really worth playing for months doing the same thing over and over to get a tiny, tiny benefit? There are rapidly diminishing returns for investing more time in the game. When I played during Burning Crusade and WOTLK, I capped every currency, did every raid lockout. After a little while, there was no way a new player could just walk in to a raid and heal as much as me because I had been rewarded for my dedication. That is no longer the case. People can just spam world quests and warfront and get gear just as good as the vast majority of players. And now I have quit until I feel like playing again since there is no incentive or reward for playing over a long period of time anymore.
I think your answer is the answer to why blizzard is doing all this. They want to promote the casual play style. Much more money is to be made there. I feel sorry for the top x% playerbase, but you are not the target players for the devs (anymore).
@@Xorgye The problem with blizz catering to casuals is that they are casual. If blizz releases a product that sucks they will without a doubt leave in droves. Blizzard/Activision has catered to them because they want to make more money. If they can get more money from casuals through microtransactions, and have less subs then they are ok with that obviously. The problem is that it's like walking on a tightrope for them. If they continue to release terrible content. They will have the long time player leave, and the casuals which will severely hurt wow. Which I believe from everything I have seen recently is happening right now. They are trying to fix things, but it's like they are putting a bandaid on a cut off limb.
John people like asmongold are horrible with the gutter-speak they use. WoW is not a Skinner box or gambling.. bosses have always been “like” a slot machine.. this whole argument is stupid
@@elizabethlea27 I admit the game is a juggle to play. You have to carefully pick the tings to do, because if you follow the main road you get frustrated very quickly. I love doing old content, achievements, pet battles... and in between I run the main content. But for a max of 2 hours because after that it gets repetitive and that isn't worth my time.
The thing that struck me the most from one of the recent AMA's by Ion is that he said they don't want to put resources into fixing broken classes/specs, but rather put that manpower into developing more content and balancing the Azerite system because millions more people would benefit from that dev time. Really Ion, you're going to put most resources into a system that will be gone come next expansion instead of making sure every spec is playable and fun up to a certain standard? PS: I love you Asmon even though you're bald and McConnel you're okay too even though you are morbidly obese.
That's true, I was looking at it from a Legion artifact view. They deleted that stuff as well only to replace it with Azerite which apparenlly will take them another whole xpac to "balance" before introducing a new system that they'll fuck up again for sure.
You put it very well, in fact so much I'd really hope someone open minded at Blizzard listens to this video and truly takes it to heart - not just keeps it in mind. I recently re-watched the Blizzcon 2005 where the devs talk about the game, and oh boy is there a difference in how they interact with players and how they behave themselves. It's like Blizzard now became corporate to a big extent, where as before they were nerds who wanted to make a great experience in the form of WoW for other nerds, making money to make it more possible to make the experience the best they could, so we can all either measure who's the biggest nolifer and envy him in all his glory, or just be a noob and embrace it fully, and everything that comes with it, yet regardless of where you where at you'd have a lot of fun in the game. Now more than ever i feel, as you said, they just try to artificially make me play the game, using psychological tricks more than creating quality game design, that naturally would have the same but more genuine and fulfilling effect on me. I don't know if internally Blizzard sold their souls to some warlock who i will not name.. but please, if you did Blizzard, you can still come back and kill that lock (it's very easy), regain your souls and make WoW great again. Pls. Thx. And thank you Asmongold for voicing your thoughts again, you are making it that much more likely they will listen. Keep it up, love your streams, take care!
Main a shaman since BC, made it to 118 before I realized that I just paid for an incomplete beta of an experience and canceled my account, I'm not paying 15 a month to wait for them to fix my class. it's a company issue with blizzard, the same complaints about blizzard you're voicing here is the same that the OW community is voicing.
I remember a friend of mine maining a shaman back in WOTLK stopped playing back then after they borked Enhancement. I don't remember the specific details though.
I've cancelled my sub multiple times but I always end up coming back and enjoying a new xpac when it hits. This is the only time I've ever played a new xpac, didn't have fun and cancelled within the month. I knew it was bad when day 4 I realized I hadn't even logged in the day before. It took me almost 2 weeks just to make it to 120.
I didn't even make it to 120 before I cancelled my sub. It's really sad because this game holds such a dear place in my heart and I can't even be bothered to spend time on it.
Wait.... Is this the real asmongold? Not a reaction channel video?? can't wait for Asmongold reacting Asmongold talking about the state of Battle for Azeroth
all the things that is making BFA bad are present in Classics but in a worst lvls: - tedious, overtuned, extremelly time consuming lvling. - terrible itemization (WAY worst than azerite gear) - terrible PvE class balance, terrible class design - terrible PvP class balance, worst than any expansion. - terrible Abilities Balance, you could 1 shoot people with some of them in the game. - gearing process was way hard, i would like to see a hardest way to get a purple in this game again but in those days it could take you a month to get 1. - if you complain about get a mythic group to do something now, well in classic this was way worst. - if was a grindfest everywhere. Everything was grind. questing, gold, items, reputation grind was HUGE time consuming, you needed to spent all your morning to get mats to be ready for your 5 hours raid in the night. you needed to grind reputation for tu attunement, you needed to grind frost resistant gear, nature resistant gear, fire resistant gear, and sometimes you needed to give up a good item with a resistant one with no stats on it but just your resistant stat. - traveling around the world was tedious, only elite players could affort yo buy an epic mount. - only elite players or people who had a lot of free time could see content. But you know what? all these things were OK because everything was new in those days, this "bad things" were not a problem back in the days bacause everyone were excited about it. i have experienced the game back then, but thats it, is in the past and i dont want to do it again.
that may be tedious for you , for people like me who loved vanilla and burning is fullfilling to achieve something that requires time , now everything is so easy to achieve and thats the big problem with the current wow imo , not even fucking talent system , give me back my warrior with all his stances i'm so ready . All the unbalance you mention (wich is true , vanilla is unbalanced af) makes the game harder and more fun imo .
I played BFA right after launch and I really enjoyed leveling in Drustvar with my main, it had a Duskwood kind-a feel to it and that's great because I always enjoyed questing there in Vanilla (I play a paladin so I was glad that I finally did some damage on those undead back in the day:). Now I'm just logging in for seasonal events and basically also waiting for Vanilla.
This video has articulated the reason why I dislike WoW in a way I thought nobody could. Mad respect to you man. Thank you for giving us a voice. I quit WoW 8 months ago and never coming back until PvP vendors do. Unsub. Then they'll have to change.
@josh felix not 14, just responding equally poorly to your poorly phrased complaint, gear hasnt been "special" for a while now and its always going to be just a number tbh, considering power is relative to each expansion. And having special PvP specific gear doesn't really solve that problem it just causes new problems like blizzard having to balance PvP while breaking pve or vice versa, people being special snowflakes isn't a concern to any AAA game
Oh boy, can't wait for Asmongold to react to this one.
I came here to post that
hey i came here to post that too!
I hope he makes a reaction to his reaction of his original video
Why the fuck would he do that?

Core hound tooth and perdition's blade. Those were the days.
I almost cried when I got the leaf quest from majordomo. Stopped playing at wotlk. Following the rest through social media and it sucked since wotlk.
Gigaboss87 Spot on, it's my dagger combo transmog till this day. Qiraji Reaper+Iblis for swords... Timeless stuff.
I remember getting bloodfall in ICC 25.
I don't even know the name of my weapon right now.
I'll never forget obtaining Bryntroll, the Bone Arbiter from Marrowgar as a Blood DK. So hype.
Now i'm using some PvP two hander that rolled stupidly high ilvl. Great.
Same. I couldn't tell you the name of any of my gear, but I sure am sick of STILL carrying a 325 offhand. RNG is fucking dumb.

The problem is that the main goal blizzard is aiming for is not player enjoyment, but hours played.
Agreed. I cringe when I see WQ on the map. Grinding WQ for 3 hours on two toons is not fun. Artifact power sucks.
Yeah, alts are a pain in the ass. Even changing specs is a pain in the ass.
This is why I quit in MoP, and why I've tried every expansion and quit again. The game feels like you have chores to do.

Look at Wrath:
You had emblems of Trumph, noobie farming friendly, you got decent enough gear to step into raids and you were getting some emblems of frost so even as a noobie doing dungeons, you could get a raid item eventually!
Can't wait for Classic WoW. PvP Vendors should have never been removed.
Wrath was the best.
The devs don't play it, they're busy on their mobile phones.
They’re playing Diablo mobile lul
Dev: what, do you guys don't have phone?

Watch: they are all actually playing OSRS on mobile and not even any blizzard game.
dont you guys have phones lol?
You know its gotten really bad when ya boi asmongold makes a video
Ditto and he turns his light on
and then never makes a video ever again cause it be on point
Darnasuss was justified.
The brawlers guild is still around.
warfront is such a fraudulent experience it cannot stay like this for the rest of the expansion.
Totally agree. I quit after two weeks. I felt like a hamster on a wheel. Total waste of time.
Good, don't ever come back or even think about coming back. You also should have refunded you waste money fuck.
@Black Panther oh my
yeah man, totally. hamster on a goddamn wheel
I spent the last few months of Legion purely doing gold making. About a month from BFA I bought a three month subscription, leveled one alt up in BFA, then stopped. It's just not fun. No classes I played, and I have all but three at 110, felt good. They all feel shit.
rofl been like that since cataclysm tho
he got more epics in this vid killing frogs than you got in 4 months of raiding in vanilla
THIS SO MUCH THIS ......Since WOTLK they have given epics away for breathing air.
Yea.... 'inventory full' I was thinking oh... so they drop so often now you just leave them on the ground? Okay. Glad I'm not subbed to this dumb game.
@@Legion852 Make that 2.4.3 and Isle of Quel'danas
It's time to stop calling them Blizzard and start calling them who they really are ... *ACTIVISION* :(
Holy shit this is so savage. I'll start doing that.
Very true. I think Blizzard could do some really awe-inspiring things but the SUITS -- the businessmen -- are keeping them down; limiting more than just the budget.
This. What made Blizzard is gone. It is now Activision.
FeRReT NS ironically, they have destiny 2 and black ops 4 on the battle net loader instead of either making their own launcher or putting it on steam
Actizzard or Blivision?
Its not the developers. Its the game designers. The original game designers, Like Jeff Kaplan for example, who were part of the original Mike Morhaime team, are gone. Blizzard is essentially an Activision Brand now, and the game reflects that.
So true. I think Morheime is just sick of the Activision corporate bullshit and quits, just like Metzen.
Developer is a blanket term that include creative leads as well as game directors.
Unless you are talking about coders? But no one blames coders/programmers for the game's direction.
@someone667
there's a very distinct difference between "developer" and "people making design decisions". devs are coders... the latter is more in line with executive production.
2 years ago today, and shadowlands on the horizon. Time flies
BfA is doing a good job in hyping up vanilla ^_^
Gonna be a RuneScape situation. The oldstyle game is bigger than the old one now haha
Nostalrius had 800k accounts and almost 200k active players when it was shut down, and it was a fucking private server. Classic is gonna be huge.
And how many people only played because it was free?
He looks genuinely sad in this video. Close to tears. I don't play but i feel bad for people who has invested in WoW.
Truly sad the direction the game has gone for long term fans. That's why there's such a push for classic.
Sad, but not quite close to tears. I think that's just him stifling several burps throughout the video. He's a gassy boy.
Well you can start playing with private server
we all do but its never enough we always want more its never enough we want to be kids again and start new characters on private servers but its never enough its doesn't feel the same we always want more
I unsubbed, thanks Asmongold. "I remember the items I got back in vanilla tbc, I don't remember the highest titanforge I got in in Legion" got me right there.
I got my BIS from a fucking blingtron in Legion
The reason for that is loot was so rare in Vanilla. I raided for a year and didn't get a single drop in Vanilla.
I also unsubbed few days ago and cancelled my gametime, feels so good. Waiting for Classic/tbc/wotlk now.
did you kill a boss?

The box submit thing was given useless feedback so they removed it

It's not a matter of being weak as much as it is the game not being worth my 15 bucks
If it's useless feedback, that's because of the mechanisms they had allowed it to collect.
Any input from an unhappy customer, especially systematic and quantifiable, is always useful.
They could have defined a few things they were interested in, even.
"Did you quit because you were unhappy with the game? Y/N"
Even that simple of a question, over years, can let you know if more players are happy or not relative to the population.
My buddy I work with said it the best; feels like the game was made by greedy Activision and not passionate Blizzard.
Blizzard = Activision now.
nipa 101 is just a triggered kid
@@nipa1013 arguments aren't needed when you say stuff so nonsensical.
nipa 101 no this is Activision.
Pandaria was a nice time, Just the thunderfarging was Trash But Over all i think MOP was the Last great expension
@@Hazelnaria Definitely
I don't think vendors alone will make the game enjoyable... there is no innovation for content anymore.
zomgpeoplestolemname dude, why did they remove reforging I’m still fucking triggered over that...

@exzses yeh it sucks I agree :(
Agreed. Really sad to see.
They used to say that X game was going to be the wow killer. Little did they know that the only thing that could kill wow was its creator.
I remember the Black temple patch wasn’t ready intill 10pm Tuesday night.
why is there even a EU forum? Forums should be split by language, not region.
Totally agree, and surely we are reaching a time where there shouldn't even be different regions for the clients and maybe even one joined up realm? Eve-Online has had one server network to cover the whole globe for well over a decade? When you look at how dead most realms are nowadays i'm pretty sure this could be done for WoW?
wont be done cause they need them moneys from unfortunate ppl that need to transfer
almost all of eu speaks english or enough of it to have a proper conversation with you
I would rather grind boars in Elwynn Forest as a warrior in Vanilla than run around doing world quests in BFA. I remember the hate towards MOP but compared to Legion and BFA, MOP was a masterpiece.

i really hate, when the hater post a trash comment: "wow is trash", etc, and blizz tell him, tell me more about your problem or be more specific, but when the real players make contructive feedback about the game, blizzard dont give a shit about our opinión...
It's PR. It's to put a damper on negative feedback. They have no intention to listen. They just want for the responses to be more positive in case Daddyvision or stockholders take a look. There is nothing to be confused about. They are bottom tier developers with bottom tier mods, making a bottom tier game with bottom tier communication and trying to milk as much profit as possible with as little effort as possible.
tldr; corporate world
Ditto, so fucking true.
SO TRUE! Old WoW had a lot of rpg elements to it. There is just something about leveling your weapon skills even bare hand skills
It’s a Diablo game now. Not a mmorpg
Kronos is dead, roll on Northdale if you are just starting out.
Jimmy you mean they took out the rpg not the mmo.. destiny is a mmo.

The amount of things removed with BFA extremely out weigh the amount of things added, hard to feel it's even an expansion.
its just 7.5 bro..
Removed to add back in later. Call it content.
Like Ghost said on the web show with Preach they'll just re add it in an expansion and call it a selling point.
Everytime i think about going back it seems that the pile of shit has gotten bigger.

Game has gone downhill since 2008.
More people have watched this video than play BfA
I mean leveling in a completely new expansion knowing you won't get any new exciting abilities for your class sucks.
Knowing what awaits you at 120 is farming world quests over and over sucks.
Playing classes that are so slow, clunky and a lot weaker than before sucks.
Knowing Blizzard doesn't care what people want but just want to do whatever they want sucks.
I'm done with WoW.
World quests are better than daily quests to be fair.
Yeah Exactly how I felt man
@@EE-wu7kz daily quests weren't essential though.
I came into this expansion thinking it was going to be PvP focused, but it turned out to be grind focused.
We need a Tribune of the plebs

Truth be told, the Blizzard that made warcraft 3, Vanilla WoW and WotLK has veen ship of theseus'd into oblivion. Few if any of the original developers still work on it today, and from those that do even fewer have any sway in the direction the game follows...

I think there hasn't been a single patch/expansion in Eve wich wasn't wanted by the playerbase... (ok there's one.. captains headquarters, noone actually cared or wanted it... :D )
so they basically dumbed down everything to level new players with veterans?
Exactly.
Why didn't you realize that during daily quests in TBC?

Chores.
"I wasn't rewarded for playing the game, I was rewarded for attending the game."
OOF, that's fucking strong.

I miss the Justice badge system, it did feel like you had to work for some gear.
DAE miss spending their reddit karma on gear!?
I 100% do not miss the justice badge system. Or the Honor point spending system.
I strongly disagree. I loved feeling like I've worked toward something and can spend my rewards and efforts on what I WANT!
The badge/emblem system wasn't too bad, but I didn't like how it made earlier raids in an expansion more and more irrelevant over time. Also there was literally absolutely nothing wrong with the honor point system.
Blizzard, just accept that kids will be playing Fortnite rather than WoW, and make this game an adult game once more.

Wow died when i stopped being able to tell how good a character was just by the gear it is wearing, e.g. not the skill but the performance based on how much effort they were willing to put in

This game doesnt feel like an MMORPG anymore...
That's actually super accurate
MMORPG - RPG = MMO -> BFA
@@cyberstonks not even mmo, sharding removed the "massive multi online", and when you actually have a lot of people the server lag and you cant fight properly.
Indeed, it's more a sum of android mini games now than a MMORPG
They adopted a MOBA style philosophy.
#RIP WoW
Yoo that was the shit. I started the game when the Mohawk grenade ad came out
Your wrong
You know you can do all that in retail Wow, nobody's forcing you to play any way. Do you really have to be forced to have fun in order to have fun?
In vanilla we would spend every non raid day grinding for food. We grinded during every era of WOW if you don't think so you're kidding yourself

Its not the old blizzard anymore, its Activision running the game
Yeah, Activision acquired Blizzard 10 years ago, and with WotLK (despite being a popular expansion) the problems already started to show, when WotLK was rushed to some degree (no Azjol Nerub expansion, no Gundrak raid, all raids except Ulduar and ICC had either an extremely lackluster design or had been recycled outright).
Before I used to think that was load of bullshit. But now I'm not so sure anymore. With all these dopamine-filled RNG systems it wouldn't surprise me that Activision has taken over completely.
This is too true, Activision butchered your friend Blizzard and are wearing there face selling there products. Just feeding off our Nostalgia.
Hey guys pss.. Do you want to know how to act upon such behavior ? That is the secret that is kept in the Buddist temple somewhere in Tibet, and I saw it when I was high af from eating too much Avocado... but fuck the backstory, I will tell you the secret on how to save WoW from falling into the pit, ok, hear me out because I will not repeat myself as Avocado slowly loads back into my psyche:
JUST DONT PLAY THE GAME AND QUIT SUBSCRIPTION.
Ya, exactly, crazy idea right ? How you want to to wake up lunatic ? By looking at him and asking what is going on ? OR BY SLAPPING HIS FACE with an open palm?
Look, that is the next crazy Idea that I saw in dream (this time It was Mango instead of Avacado, you know Mango got much better CEV's than Avacdo).
IF YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT THE GAME, AND YOU CONTINUOUSLY ARE PAYING FOR IT, YOU CAN CONGRATULATE YOURSELF because you are the very reason why this game stopped being fun anymore.

I did arena mostly, but I got some raiding gear for World PvP (MoP - pvp gear capped at 550 ilvl) and I always liked reforging because you could tweak tank items for dps since there was overlap. Neat feature that didn't need to be removed.
Who knows.
Why did they homogenize buffs and destroy class identity so long ago? Why add LFR?
AverageViking none of us do.
Also, ban the asinine mini-games (like saving turtles, playing memory and solving mazes)
I haven't played this game seriously since 2009 but I watched this video and appreciate your passion
You quit at a very good time actually xD
Damn this is so sad. He hasn't made any videos during BFA... I was always looking forward to him releasing videos on the game but that's so long gone now.
he made on his zackrawr channel
Here's the issue. If I quit now, and then play again in 6 months, I'll be caught up to where active players are within a week. Oh that's fun... Classic is gonna be huge, I can't wait. I'd rather spend months trying to get to 60 having to eat every pull dying over and over than pull a lever for gear some more.
Yes this is true. In Legion i quit during EN and came back for Antorus and was 960 due to catch up mechanics in two weeks while all these other people at 960 were grinding their fingers to the bone prior to that.
I fear for the people that aren't prepared for classic though. Personally I played during vanilla so I know what to expect.
It all started with Activision. Just saying.
Yuuuuuuuuuup. And all this RNG is just basic lootboxes. How lucky can you get. It's bullshit.
That's mr.Activision Blizzard for you
@John Doe Thank you. Can't believe people buy that line of horse crap
I think its okay with alchemy, but other prifessions suck
Like create a crafting gear so it will be bis pre-raid and after with reagents from raid!
Wait what? Expeditions award 1500 rep each week
Bill's Here which is another example of time gating.
8.2 is not luring me in. I only trust the Classic team now, and that’s an uneasy trust.
I read your post idiot
He doesn't look bald to me.

The quote of the year!
huge quote, more true words have never been spoken
Wrath of the Lich King pre-LFG/LFR- RIP never forget
It was never the same after that.
At vanilla times WoW was a passion for devs now it's just business.
Well put, son! Well put!
Most businesses sadly
did you play vanilla by any chance?
@@jamesmcardle3289 back in the day yes. also im playing now on a private server called lights hope
i was kinda making a joke about people telling you they played vanilla but thats good to know. Is it fairly bug-free?
Wait.... Is this the real asmongold? Not a reaction channel video?? can't wait for Asmongold reacting Asmongold talking about the state of Battle for Azeroth
Just put those channels on your "video blocker" addon. If you don't have it, I'd recommend it.
Insane that Asmongold was murdered 5 years ago
8/8 m8
Omg the real quin
Quin remembered his password Pog. Maybe now he will make some content.
Should've benched descry lad
Ayyyy the rat pack is here boys
Quin69 pls play diablo, wow is shit atm
Im waiting for classic. I have 0 fun with bfa
Agree! Same here waiting for classic lol
all the things that is making BFA bad are present in Classics but in a worst lvls:
- tedious, overtuned, extremelly time consuming lvling.
- terrible itemization (WAY worst than azerite gear)
- terrible PvE class balance, terrible class design
- terrible PvP class balance, worst than any expansion.
Play a private server. Official vanilla is going to be trash just like bfa is.
Pvp vendoring was dogshit. Having to have diferent kind of gear for different kind of things is just dumb

@josh felix because we have transmog for that so who cares?
@josh felix not 14, just responding equally poorly to your poorly phrased complaint, gear hasnt been "special" for a while now and its always going to be just a number tbh, considering power is relative to each expansion. And having special PvP specific gear doesn't really solve that problem it just causes new problems like blizzard having to balance PvP while breaking pve or vice versa, people being special snowflakes isn't a concern to any AAA game
@josh felix it was more than extra work you lemming... It puts the entire game out of balance
