This is such a great song. I like all 3 hit versions of this songs by Gladys Knight & The Pips, Marvin Gaye & CCR. But my favorite is by CCR. You need to listen to the 11 min. studio version by them. It is a masterpiece. John Fogerty has one of the most unique & recognizable voices around. You have a huge catalogue of CCR's songs to go through. "Proud Mary", "Born On The Bayou", "Bad Moon Rising", "Lodi", "Green River", "Commotion", "Night Time Is The Right Time", "Down On The Corner", "Fortunate Son", "Cotton Fields", "Midnight Special", "Travelin' Band", "Who'll Stop The Rain", "Up Around the Bend", "Run Through The Jungle", "Lookin' Out My Back Door", "Long As I Can See the Light", "Suzie Q", "I Put A Spell On You", "Sweet Hitch-Hiker" etc.
yes to all this!
Agreed on all of this.
This is my favorite version of the song.
The best part of this song is seeing the band break out in smiles, just enjoying themselves, having a blast.
They know how good this is and they are digging themselves. John Fogerty was in a zone, feeling the
spirit, and because of that, so are we.
The bass-driven version of this song is my favorite. And Saeed, the moment you realized what this song is about, the look on your face, priceless.
Epic song!
And now i finally know what it is about 😅
You cant go wrong with CCR. I Put a Spell on you, Have You ever seen the Rain, Fortunate Son...✌🎶
All these are on my to do list. Looking forward to discover them!
Fortunate son!
I Put a spell on you - Best version of that song of all time no question.
Yes to all 3 of these
Swampy! That’s what that sound is! Love it!
I like this version better than the other two because of the guitar’s especially the bass fantastic. Love John Fogerty his vocals, I could listen to this band all day! Try Born on the Bayou , Lodi, Green River, so many songs that I can’t possibly list them. But whatever song you choose you’ll definitely enjoy.
Born on the Bayou, I Put a Spell on You, Green River, Run Through the Jungle. Just a sample of some great CCR songs to check out.
Born on the Bayou is the theme song for the TV show Swamp People. It is so fitting.
A true classic! This version might be the definitive one!
Anyone else remember the California Raisins?
Sure do! 😂
I love the "California Raisins" commercial! Many years ago, teachers put on a talent show for the high school students for charity. I was proud to be a member of the "raisin chorus line"! 😂 Our principal did the Marvin Gaye part and was terrific!
Best word to describe that beat is 'tribal'. It grabs you.
Great description!
This will always be the definitive version of this song! dbl ♥
Yes, more CCR please!!
CCR gave us the soundtrack for VietNam Through the Jungle, Green River I put a spell on you. Fifty years ago this was soldiers playlist material.
Fortunate Son!
I loved CCR back in the day. Had all their albums.
John is an American icon just a complete artist. He was ccr and its sad what he was put through. It was a huge loss to the public what we lost. He still left a huge catalog for us to be amazed with. 😊
He's not dead.
First one! Always here for some CCR, another great band from the San Francisco Bay area. Got to love my Homies
Hey! Thanks for being early!
What a great version of this song. Epic!
Another 🔥🔥🔥 CCR tune! They had at least a dozen great songs. Looked 4ward to their next song back then. I was a big fan from the start in 68. John Fogerty is sooooo talented, always dug his voice
Was performing for victims of wildfires at Fireaid last evening, still sounds great.
One of the Greatest songs ever! This is the short version. If you’re into Instrumental, the long version is Amazing as well! Really shows off their talent! CCR! One of the best to do it!
I like this version the best!
I used to line dance to this with my BF. Another great song and memory.
John Fogerty, what a swampy guy.
Try "I Put a Spell on You." Most of CCR's hits were their own (John's) songs but they did some amazing covers too.
Dude there is a much much longer version😮 put that in your playlist
Excellent cover by CCR. ❤❤❤
I have never heard a version of this song I didn't like. But, this is the very first version I ever heard. Love CCR!
It doesn't end if you listen to Cosmo's factory album you will hear the complete version it's killer 🎶🎵
Love the 11 mniute version best.
I love all three versions but I love the sound scape on CCR’S the best🔥🙌🏼🤘
To be from california those guys nailed the swamp blues jazz and southern soul to a Tee!! I was young when this song first played on the FM Radio!
I saw Fogerty 3 times and this is a great song, but you must play the long versions of any CCR or Fogerty song!
The CCR catalogue is full of great songs, and released in such a short period of time. They remain one of my favourite bands from the late sixties/early seventies.
Creedence wow you need to listen to their huge catalogue of music. They were outstanding for the 60's, Swamp Rock at it's best!!! His voice was so authenticly, outstandingly GREAT! for this style of music. They are a classic live forever band!
john fogertys centerfield record is great start to finish.extended version of this song has a great solo.
This is off subject but I'm curious if you,ve seen the Martin Scorsese film, The Last Waltz? It's the last performance by, The Band. They were Bob Dylans band. The line up of musicians is incredible. Dylan, Neil Young, Neil Diamond, Van Morrison, Muddy Waters, Ronnie Hawkins, Eric Clapton, The Staple Singers, Joni Mitchell etc. ✌🎶
I cannot ever click on CCR fast enough when people react to one of their songs- LOVE CCR 🔥🔥🔥
Funky Guitar!!! Drums on fire!
All the versions are really good because really great singers bands did it. I like this CCR version because I love all their songs. ❤😊
Saw John Fogerty in concert a few years ago when he came to eastern Canada for several shows - still just as good live as on record - fantastic show!
one of their best covers!
👍 CCR
John Fogerty was main singer in CCR.
One of his many songs
Have You Ever Seen the Rain.
I remember this as THE version of the song. I lived CCR so much when they were at the top. I was 10! They were my introduction to rock and roll!
Hey Saeed, I've loved this version of the song as long as it's been out! It's by far the best version! I was glad to see you enjoying it and that you are looking to do more CCR! FABULOUS reaction!
Hey Deb! Just recorded another CCR reaction. More coming!
@@SaeedReacts. I'll be looking for it! Thank you for your reply!
Thank you for the heart! I truly appreciate it!
My favorite version of this song was Mavrin Gaye's (there was one earlier by the Miracles with Smokey Robinson). CCR was later, but I loved it too. So, those were all guys and the lyrics suited them. Gladys Knight's version didn't have the lyric that you asked about, she's not a guy.
SO GOOD!!
The album version is 11 minutes long...
Really. Had no idea. Must give that one a listen.
The 11 minute version is spectacular!
As a teeen of the 70's they were the one of the elite bands out there with a vast catolog of songs. No one sings like Fogarty.Still play them often.
Saw John last year and he and band were still great. Hit after hit and he's still rocking that black Les Paul. He's a national treasure.
This band wrote this song and sold it, and a few great people did it. But, they did their way with some rock and roll and soul! ❤😊
John Fogerty is a phenom!
Best from Germany
You need to play the California raisin commercial where the raisins were playing and dancing to I Heard it Through the Grapevine great animation
An author and an Archer... "loosed an arrow" 😊 ANOTHER KILLER BAND. You guys are killing my Sunday morning 😘🥰❣️
😁😁
I see it so much in fantasy. "He fired an arrow" 😅
This song is so good! And this is an epic version.
CCR ❤ I’ve got all their lp’s. Pure and fantastic music and which lasts dacades
CCR is the greatest US rock band, order their greatest hits CD.
Born on the Bayou and Green River were 2 bangers as well just like all the other songs they had! Unforgettable!
My favorite version ❤
Great song!
"Long As I Can See The Light" will touch you deeply . ✌❣
That one is on my list. Interesting title!
Awesome song, great reaction! Just wait till you hear their live version of “I put a spell on you”…..unbelievable!!
This is my favorite version.
So good!
They were from the San Francisco Bay Area, but they had that Louisiana swamp rock sound down!
I agree love all 3 version but CCR is my favorite
Great bass song! ❤😊
If you didn't want it to end, you really have to listen to the longer version -- it is epic.
The longer version is the jam !!!
Fogerty sings it the best of all! I still have my collectible California Raisins (on my mantle) so they can groove with John.
CCR are the best! This is a very deep rabbit hole. Please keep checking it out! Absolutely always love your reaction!
Great Video. If I recall correctly the Cosmo's Factory version is longer, This is a radio edit. I like both of them.
There are other great covers of this song, but I love CCR's. They never recorded a bad song. They were fire.
This is the best version of this song.
You really do need to watch “I put a spell on you”, trust me, it IS the Very Best rendition of that number you will ever see.
Great music from CCR and from John Fogerty's solo career to dive into. Did you get the California Raisins commercial back in the 90s in Europe? Maybe that's the version you heard.
OK, there’s good news. That’s a sad song that makes you smile really big but it’s the best version you’ve ever heard and just cut. Same session goes on for about eight more minutes. You gotta find it. They have the best jam session that you’ve ever heard in your life guarantee take it down for about eight more minutes with no words. It’s just glorious sound man Creedence Clearwater Revival is the real deal. Yes, I John Fogerty on leaves and guitar vocals.
CCR rocks this one! My favorite version, all respects to Mr Marvin Gaye.
California Raisins sang it...........
Dancing Raisins!!!!
Thanks Saeed! This is my fav version… it’s so swampy. ☮️
CCR is not a rabbit hole to fall into, it's a chasm to enjoy!!! Hope you take the leap!
This ties with Michael McDonald's (of the Doobie Brothers) version for my favorite covers of this one. CCR's "I put a spell on You" is dynamite.
"The Penthouse Pauper" - which is a deep cut - is a great one by them, with much lead guitar ad-libbing
"I Heard It Through the Grapevine" they have version is 11:05. this original version for them. this shorter version. there version peak at 43 and they never had no number one songs. there have the most number 2 , they have 5 of them for group.
Album version is a 10 minute jam and includes some great guitar work from John Fogerty.
CCR only 5 years, but so many great songs. John Fogerty solo is also great.
I love this b and. So many great hits. John Fogerdy is such an ace singer. The drummer, is his brother,Tom.
No. Tom Fogerty is the rythm guitar player. The biggest hit was Marvin Gayes' version.
@@edhorton2766 You are right. I dont know whe I thought he was the drummer. XD
@@xScooterAZx Doug Clifford was the drummer and Stu Cook on bass. You were 100% right about John Fogerty. Ace singer. Ace guitarist and song-writer too!
CCR had a quite a run and then John Fogerty had a great solo career, the two kinda run together in my mind - the sound was about the same.
Probably heard it in a California Raisins commercial.
Don't think we have those here in Belgium, but i definitely heard this line before.
There is a longer version by CCR
You should have gone for the 11-minute version by CCR.
Love it! ☮️💙😎
This is an edited version - the full version is over 11 minutes long, finishing off with an amazing extended jam. Hope you get to hear it sometime.
Now go hit the LONG studio cut of this!
The best I heard from them was their performance at woodstock live, "I put a spell on you" not as long as the studio version but just sounded better for me having less time to sit and listen.
I like all the different versions but none as much as this CCR live version!! Just me but I saw CCR in 1970 so I guess I'm prejudiced
Run Through the Jungle
I love Marvin Gaye's version as well.
I think is the original
Christian Nesmith & Circe Link - Stone In Love (Journey
I think Marvin Gaye's version was the most famous one. CCR made it their own.
Jon Fogerty una delle migliori voci in assoluto
Have you listened to REO Speedwagon's song 'Take It On The Run'? Another song where the singer hears 'through the grapevine' that the girlfriend is cheating.
Opening line is one of the best opening lines: Heard It From A Friend, Who Heard It From A Friend, Who Heard It From A Friend, that you've been messin' around.
Listen to the long version. It's even better.
