Such a sweet lil boy. And what a simple and easy method. I was thinking about how to do it, involving much more complicated and silly work-arounds. Thanks for this! Going to test it on my pup right now!
Very nice, my pup is 14 weeks, I am gonna try to teach him this. I have problems with left and right myself so I am not sure for whom this will be most challenging ;)
Nice job! We cycle a lot and my dog is very in tune with the directions we're taking. I think he's getting cues from wheel angle, but that changes with speed (countersteer vs no countersteer). So, I'll be very pleased if we can give him more clarity for safety. 👍 On top of that I have my wife's little dog, who absolutely loves coming along too, but she has absolutely no idea of which we we're going and simply runs along side without a leash.😅
So I love your video but I have a mechanics question. If you are facing your dog and teaching right/left then are facing the same direction as your dog; won't they be backwards?
Thank you! :) I didn’t expect that it seem could so easy training tip. I will try it out when he learned to one trick at first what since a while then I’m trying to teach. :D
Thank you for posting this video!! I’ll definitely use your method to teach my dog right and left!!

When I'm facing him it's the opposite for me and sometimes I get confused for a second.
It's to the dogs left or right Not the humans.
If you're looking at your pup it's backwards
If you facing the same direction it's correct 🐾🐾

I had a dream last night where I taught my dog directions so she could pull me on a skateboard
