Went to my favourite HiFi shop Wednesday and listened to this amp. Bought it on the spot. We recreated my home setup, with Monitor Audio Bronze 500 and a humble Wiim Mini streaming Qobuz. Excellent pairing. Compared to my outgoing humble Denon PMA600, and even a Rotel A14 mkii we also setup, the soundstage is far more "enveloping". Both Denon and Rotel keep the sound in the plane of the speakers, Cambridge Audio expands to fore and aft. Rotel and CA were essentially identical im terms of detail, the Rotel really is a great Amp too. For sure, other speakers might give different results, but theres my take 😊
@0102studio Forgot to thank you. It was a video you made that pointed me to the CX81. You mentioned that Cambridge Audio sent you one, because they felt you were underpowered in some of your speaker tests. Thanks!
You've opened up a small can of worms with your brief comment - I've been eyeing it for a long while, and I'm inclined to get the Evo 150 do-it-all and be done. With the new EXA range there's a bit of redundancy creeping in.
Great review buddy! & hopefully you do get your hands on the exn. Im not sure if you will be doing comparisons for integrated vs integrated, But price wise. I think the Yamaha R-N800A would be a great comparison at $1199.95.
@ I’m currently overseas and I don’t like to use step down transformers. At the same time, I don’t want to invest in something that I can’t use when I go back to the US. If it was dual voltage, I’ll probably keep it until it dies. Or I die. 😂
@@0102studioif possible try to connect a sub in line level and test if it performs the same or lose significant amount of power as it doesn’t have any pre/sub out.
Great review. A quality experience. Well done 👏
Thank you!

@ that was true. It was the older cxa60. I haven’t used it since. And thank you for making my day!

I love the Evo 150. Its damn near perfect.
nice review, I have the CXA-81 mark 1. Can't wait to hear your review of the EXA-100. May have to upgrade
Thank you! I can’t wait to hear it either!

I didn’t because I didn’t have a comparable amp on hand other than the mki. But in the future, I’ll most likely start doing so.
How does this compare to the Audiolap 7000A?Thanks
Alas, I have not heard that yet.
@@0102studiobut 9000A, layer...
I wish I could get this one. Unfortunately, they don’t offer a selectable voltage switch on these ones.
Out of curiosity, why does that impact you?

@ ah, that makes total sense now. Thank you!
Is that the AXA35 in the background?❤
It is! Review is in progress!
