The Sound Quality section of your review is what your dedicated followers really want to watch, we trust your experience as a lot of us may not have the ability to review a product ourselves. I was pleasantly surprised by your comments here regarding the 'musicality' of the A10 but presume the 'lack of resolution' is only a factor because of its price bracket. Thanks again, Hans 🙏
As usual, a fantastically produced, insightful review. My piggy bank is full but I was really hoping that their next flagship streamer would include a headphone output.
Thank you, this is a very relevant and helpful review, especially the sound impressions (and the internals walkaround: no easy way to swap opamps). Looks like a product worthy of the price. Let's see how the DAC section compares with other ES9038SPro designs.
Thank you for the great review and I have to say that I don't believe a lot of UA-camrs but all your viedeos make me build part of my system 🎉❤ and you was always right 👍 Thank you for your support
Platinum age of audio. Audio is better than ever - greater proportion of excellent products, more features, better sound, more accessible, more convenient form factors, more convenient, more affordable/higher value, and on, and on, and on.
The FIR filter is actually a very powerful feature, and it can also be used for time domain correction. However, it requires more advanced software, such as standalone tools like Audiolense. After creating the FIR filter, it can be imported into the A10’s convolution engine. That said, the DSP expertise required for this is quite high, so I am merely pointing it out. It’s not that FIR is limited to correcting amplitude; it just needs more powerful tools to design the FIR filter properly.
Thank you Hans for your usual comprehensive review. I'm happy to see that room correction is included. Now an option on the upcoming Bluesound Node Icon and already included on the WiiM Ultra is hopefully a sign that the industry is beginning to 'get with the 'program'. The dedicated USB out allowing the use of a better external DAC is welcome but begs the question, of whether the room correction is still available through the USB out. Disappointed that the A10 apparently does not include a high/low pass feature, which is offered with the WiiM Ultra. Especially as the A10 has dual subouts. But overall, a big step in the right direction.
Thank you for the comprehensive review, as always greatly appreciated! I am very tempted to sell my McIntosh c50 preamp, Ares 12th DAC, WiiM Pro, and Sony HAPZ1ES Music server and replace 4 boxes and multiple cables with the EverSolo A10! From the reviews I have watched I would not sacrifice any quality in the preamp section, and I would gain quality in the DAC section and room correction comes along with it! I would keep my 3 amplifiers, McIntosh mc352, Carver Crimson 275 tube amp and my DIY class D mono amps. I really enjoy swapping out amps to get differences in the sound. I also like to bi amp my Klipsch La Scala speakers with the class D amps and the tubes. Having 3 amps and EQ always keeps the music flowing and fresh! Again thanks for the review!
Great video. I love the Eversolo streamers and I'm thinking about this one, too. One question: I have some room problems that I cannot solve with putting things to walls. These problems also affect my record player. Could it be an option to go from my phono-pre into an analog in of the Eversolo and send it through the room correction? Then back to my amplifier and that's it. What do you think?
Does it have an home theater bypass on the analog in? It's frustrating to see all these "pre-amp" devices that cannot be used as pass thru devices when connected to a receiver in a home theater/streamer mixed setup.
Thank you for this video. Question: how good is the preamp specifically? In your test, did you prefer driving your amp as an integrated or as a power amp?

As always an excellent very professional review. I have an A8 that I upgraded with a Beatechnik LPS-A8 power supply. I recently moved the A8 to my secondary system and have been looking at the A10 as a replacement in my primary system. In this price range a crossed-shopped competitor is the HiFi Rose RS150B. Both have very similar features and capabilities and are are using Sabre DAC's. Anyone have any thoughts on the sound signature differences?
Hello Hans.. Just a question : this DMP A10 is all in one system (streamer, dac, pre amp) without implementation of Master Clock (dedicated Master clock unit) like other high end Digital Music players. How do you compare with other high end Digital Streamers (that implementing Master clock unit separate) ??
Thank you for this review. I wonder how the A10 compares with the Mytek Brooklyn Bridge II, but maybe you don’t have it around anymore. I am on the market to buy a new streamer+DAC since Mytek failed to honor their contract of exchange between the original BB and the BB II.
A mac pro desktop computer with Audirvana? I don't think so. I've had that setup and have a very good USB input DAC, the RME ADI-2. Even without Audirvana, using Qobuz desktop alone, the sound is excellent. But I've bettered it with a WiiM Pro, external 5v power supply, using a Verizon fiber optic router running through two Cisco Meraki connected by fiber into the WiiM pro and then glass toslink into the RME DAC with the latest Roon 2.0 version. I've tested these both direct wired from an old 2012 Mac Mini and also a M1 Macbook Air. The Cisco Meraki fiber to the WiiM Pro wins due to the heft and depth of the sound improved. Both are however excellent. Audrivana is very good and IMHE, there was a nice benefit to using its DSD upsampling options.
Really enjoyed your review. Thank you. Most streaming devices come with preamp functions in these days. I have a reasonably good tube preamp from Conrad Johnson. Should I consider A10 for both streamer and preamp? Or I should look for a streamer only without preamp? Thanks.
I would go for a streamer without pre-amp or use the streamer with the pre-amp switched off (effectively the volume control). And I would go for a slightly higher sound quality given your amp.
Peter Gabriel; this confirms my faith in your musical acumen. I am curious if the A10 has home theater bypass. I pretty sure the A8 has it, so I'm guessing this must since it should be trivial to implement.
Hans, you were very reserved in your description of the sound and not made any comparisons with other devices(without A8).You only tested the A10 with one system this Time. Why? Another reviewer said that the A10 is not SFP+ capable. In your test, were you able to identify a sound advantage over SFP to LAN? Thank you
Another great review Hans! I am curious to know your impressions of the two different DACs: A8 (warmer?) vs. the A10 (more clinical?). I am trying to choose between buying the A10 or the Lumin P1-mini. Have you ever used any Lumin products? Thanks, Russ
I am more interested in sound than features and tech. I have an A8, and it sounds like the A10 has a better Pre, and better DAC. I won't upgrade to the A10. I will save money and wait for an all in one Streamer, Pre, and DAC from Holo Audio based on the Cyan. I have faith it will come someday soon.
Thanks for the Review. Can you imagine that the A10 would be better than the integrated electronics of a Dynaudio Focus 50? You had already tested the Dynaudio.
I understand the quality comparison but we’re talking many £’000’s difference. If you went with the Eversolo what part of your system would you invest in with that saving?
If you need an AVR then the Marantz AV10 it top notch. I own it and love it and it sounds great with music and movies! Not sure this streamer is a competition other than for your $$ lol. They’d make a great pair someday 😊
Wow Hans, that is a very positive review I can see why it took so long. Can it play Apple music as an end unit or only from an Apple device? It’s definitely an option if I the active modules into my PMC’s, not a fan of the “fancy” volume knob unfortunately.
NAD is way more expensive and much worse built (capacitors, soldering). NAD, Audiolab, Cambridge are all devices built to fail after the warranty expires. Just look up the pictures of the insides.
This has left me confused. On one hand its the be all and ends all, yet on the other i get the feeling that there's better sound for less money like the Cyan 2. 🤷♂️
Sounds like another winner! But hard to imagine what it sounds like when you said it "it involves you in the music". My experience with being invovled with the music has always been the music itself, not because of the gear. A Chet Baker trumpet solo mono recording coming from an AM radio or a stereo remix from a two-channel would get me invovled with the music just as well.
Thank you Hans great review. Would have been useful to include a HDMI input so we could connect an Apple TV directly to the unit and also they could of included a HDMI output socket to work with legacy AV surround processors. I like the inclusion of the SFP port this is nice touch and the DSP functions and stereo sub outputs are on point. The price is also very competative

Isn't that filters then a smps in the upper right? Sounds like even if it's not a full smps, it will still create switching noise no?
It is a SMPS but it's only used for standby and voltage selection so it doesn't get into the audio circuits.
