when your oblique is trained and u gain mass around that area, it DOES get bigger. just like any other muscle group, u train your arm, u get bigger arms. it is just that to a body proportion perspective, gaining even a little in your waist reduce the aesthetics when u dont train other muscle group, like shoulder, lats and glutes to balance it out. women aesthetics isn´t judged like men in general. so she does have a point 🤔

    • @111kino

I was looking for this. Most people don't progressive overload with ab or oblique exercises so they don't have to worry about that, but it's easiest to notice in strength based lifters because having a bigger core(muscle and fat) is extremely beneficial. Even noticeable in Scott because he does heavy compound lifts.

Eyyyy man, yeah nice video, good tips on training the core. I'm pretty sure her "demonstration" of those exercises was supposed to be funny, but yeah it's good to show how to do them properly. My thoughts would be that maybe for people that are taking PEDs, especially a lot of PEDs, is that maybe there is a concern that they will hypertrophy those muscles "too much," for whatever category they're competing in. A lot of the women's divisions in the IFBB don't want the girls to be too muscular. The problem is that this advice is being given to naturals, where to be honest it's a complete joke that we could ever have abs that are "too big." I think it shows a discrepancy between the way people on gear train and the way us mere mortals have to train.

Stomach vacuums while brushing teeth. Seeing it in the mirror really helps with control.

I don’t train abs at all. I just prioritise other muscle groups- I’m in there for 1hr 15mins and I really am not keen for another 15-30 mins of abs on top of that.
