I wholeheartedly agree that for that big a price tag they should come with a decent case, not just that giant box to put them in. I feel the same about the Ray Ban bio-acetate frames, recently picked up a pair, and I get what they're trying to do with the whole "bio" thing, but they only come with a cloth BAG to keep them in, not even the standard Ray Ban case that comes with the cheapest pair of Ray Bans. I love the sunglasses but it's almost unacceptable for the price that they don't give you a case. End of rant lol.
i like the new cases better than the old clamshells. they seem to be far superior as far as quality and durability. The clamshells always come apart at the seams and were desperate to be replaced by something better that didn’t fall apart after a couple years of reasonable use tops. The new cases are genius and i end up using them about 10X as much since they slide in a jacket pocket and virtually disappear. I figure if i can use them 10x as often and they still last longer, that’s a very simple no brainer. The old clamshells are so cumbersome as to be normally prohibitive to normal day to day use.
Seems like customers who have 1) been customers for years, and been through many a MJ clamshell case, and 2) actually use their cases day to day (and do not often leave their case in a drawer), seem to be the customers who appreciate the new trifold cases the most.
these are the best Maui Jim’s i’ve ever owned and i’ve owned about 12 pairs, probably about 8 models. This model is built different. They are simply the most comfortable shades I’ve ever worn and the only shades i can wear for 12-15 hours and still forget to take them off at the end of the day.
@@zacharyriley4122 I wish Maui Jim had more iconic, stylish frame with premium acetate materials and much better built quality than most of their acetate models. We’ve had a few different styles and all of them squeak. Haven’t tried the Alika though but not sure if I will because of the MauiBrilliant lenses. Have very bad experiences in terms of scratch resistance.

Just ordered a pair of black with the bronze lens, had a 70% off coupon so got them for $180 shipped can’t wait to get them
Maui Jim don’t do discounts
, how did you get the coupon?
@@attilab.2818it’s a discount that sales associates get off a pair of they compete maui jim training. not available to the general public. 😢
@@attilab.2818Also, if you can prove you are a first responder, you can get a coupon for 40% off a pair.

Will you be reviewing the Maui Jim Stone Shack?
They look good on you but I think I'll stick to my Stingrays...I have a pair of Vuanet Legend 06, have you reviewed those?

Has Maui Jim quality changed since their acquisition last year?
not yet. stand by.
No , they even increased their quality
Kind of ridiculous that they are not made with the super thin glass for it to be considered "luxury"
ST is a lot heavier.

MauiBrilliant will scratch from simply thinking about being scratched. My experience. Now STG only.
They look great on you
Those look like a ray ban frame
For that price range, then I prefer Oliver Peoples one
