Hundreds audition, but only a select group will secure spots in the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders training camp. DCC director Kelli Finglass and head choreographer Judy Trammell oversee the intense audition process and decide which hopefuls will make the team.
Each season I have a rookie to watch. Last season it was Amanda and this season it was Armani! Girl has been dancing her heart out from day 1. Glad to see she made the team! Congratulations 2020 squad!! 💙💙🎉🎉

Bella K...I agree. I fell for Armani on Episode 1. My pleasant surprise was Alora making the team. I really thought she would be cut, but she stepped up, "got" the style, and secured her spot. I hope she has a long run with the team.
Armani is so special. She is one of my favorite dancers to date.

For some odd reason I feel like I am missing some episodes this season because it’s not that long and they already made the team.
Same because the last season was about 13 episodes and this only got to 8 and they already made the team.
Same all these girls are amazing though.
They said this season was going to be shorter because of COVID I think. They had a lot quicker training camp as well

Yes! I didn't even realize that was her with the long hair until she pointed her name out on the hanger. I don't like it. She was perfect the way she was.

I preferred Armani's original hair. They've turned her into a look-alike Diana Ross circa 1985.
All of my favs made the team!!!! aka Armani, Darian, Jada, Sydney, & Claire!! I’m glad there is more girls of color on the team!!!
Same diversity is back. Some of the earlier seasons had women if color but it definitely dropped off in recent years.
Brutal year for vets
Not really. 2017 had 6 vets cut, 2014 4 vets cut, 2013 4 vets cut, 2012 4 vets cut, 2008 5 vets cut. This year 3 vets. Apparently vets get cut most often in the auditions before going to training camp. This year they didn’t have that so had to be done during training camp.

@@gr82bdanyelle I mean we as fans don’t get to see what happens behind the scenes nor do we know what really happens because producers tend to switch clips around to make it look like someone said something when the actually didn’t. I think Hannah sounded salty was because of the fact that they labeled her as disinterested this entire season which was blown way out of proportion. If she had been disinterested she probably wouldn’t have auditioned again. So idk I’d be salty too if my words or dancing was misinterpreted on national tv😂😅
Which vets were cut ? I know Meredith was but who else ?

Yeah, she probably said something about them cutting a lot of blondes and keeping all of the black girls. Them going in the wrong direction was probably a reference to reverse discrimination. Of course they had to edit out those comments.

So they're not even gonna show them cutting Hannah after pushing this false narrative all season of cutting her because of dance reasons rather than the truth. Choices.

@@Angelaaa1015 she didn't actually, if you look at every clip they say she was "bad" in it was the same dance. The dance that the vets only had to teach themselves the morning before they got into training camp.
As you can read this is not the episodes recap. and you know THEIR truth, not the actual truth which no one knows
I still can't believe that Alora Rose made the team, but Tori didn't. Tori was much better. They really dropped the ball on those two.

The thing is that this is reality tv show they made alora rose look wayyy worse then she really was! Alora is a amazing dancer and definitely earned the spot :)
I definitely agree tori was awesome she had no business being cut. She deserved a spot.

I really missed seeing KaShara now that she is part of the organization. Hopefully the 2021 season will be closer to normal.

I am so happy to see so many of the rookies make the squad this year!! Claire and Armani have been my favorites since day 1, they were better than like half the vets! But I am so sad to see that Hannah won’t be on the squad! I wish they would tell the truth about why Hannah left TC...but I’m proud of her for standing up not just for herself but for the whole squad!
I am too! In my opinion Hannah should have stayed but it seems like production or Kelli wasn't happy with her.
It’s cool to see Charlotte, but I love when Kelly and Judy announce the squad. It just seems more genuine, but I get why Charlotte did it this year.

They weren’t always social distancing in this. Especially the rookies
And, even with masks -- a bunch of people doing heavy breathing in a room -- it's just not safe. Just like choir rehearsals ended up being super-spreader events. I think they shouldn't have done a training camp at all this year.
But they’ve also been in isolation together, getting tested regularly for weeks.
@@meghanscoggins4394 yes but prior to entering the bubble there were no restrictions. Vets were traveling up to two days before they got in the bubble

Tbh I don’t see the purpose of them wearing a mask walking into the stadium and then taking it off immediately. Safety first!
I agree. Their safety precautions in my opinion could've been so much better. I don't care if they have all been tested. It means nothing at this point. Some have and have caught Covid. If we're not allowed to take off our masks in public, they should not be allowed to in training. I think EVERY person should be wearing a mask. I can see why some people were concerned.
they’re all in a bubble, and just wear the masks as extra precautions i think?
@@chloeconnor4522 yes but they second they start moving(when they get the closest to each other) they take them off so what’s the point of wearing them in the first place. Also they have to wear them for games anyway, why not for all of training camp too just to get used to it?
@@chloeconnor4522 I was referring to Phil Whitman, Kelli, and Judy. At the beginning of the video, Phil walked into the stadium with a mask (not even covering his nose) and then immediately took it off. As for Kelli and Judy, they both took their masks off when they saw him.
@@chloeconnor4522 but Phil and Charlotte weren’t in the bubble with them and they had to get within 6ft of the women to hand out uniforms so clearly they’re not taking the precautions seriously
I'm dying with Kelli and Charlotte in thin heels on the artificial turf. I would seriously break an ankle. 😂 Congrats to the new team!
I appreciate that they're allowing the majority of girls with curly hair to stay curly. It adds to the diversity to the team, and I'm sure it's less damaging to their hair.
Since this season there is a stylist/salon for WOC hairstructures and etc
One of the best teams the DCC has ever had. Congrats to all the awesome ladies!
I fee like Alora-Rose and Jessica are going to be another Lily and Meredith next year but I wish them all the best.

@@annaconigliaro2907 Nah I don't think Meredith was ever really good and neither was Lily. They put Meredith on the team because they thought a year of DCC would help her improve and it didn't. It actually made her worse.
@@RealTalk1411 I feel like them cutting Lily without a prior office visit gave her PTSD which made her performance worse but I was more meaning the improvement in regards to Meredith was with the coaches perspective because imo I think you're 100% right on Meredith. She should have never made the team and honestly I feel like Kelli was harsher with VK then Meredith. Not only that but Shaina and Alexandria were better options since they seemed really talented and loyal to the team
So happy for the rookies!!!! They were STRONG this year. Kelli and Judi made great rookie choices this year.
Umm Phil most definitely is like DCC Santa Clause! He literally makes everything so much better and more fun!

@@sherylpockrose4029 I think did rehearsed the jumpsplit but as they were eventually not on the field they left it out of the show. Not sure tho 🙈
2020 has been nothing but a physical and mental demanding year. The ladies this season are so strong and hardworking. They deserve it!

I thought Tori (rookie that was cut) was s stronger dancer than Alora-Rose (though she improved during training camp). I also thought Ashlinn might have had more power than Alora-Rose. Surprised they got cut at the end but I guess they were outperformed by Jessica and Alora-Rose

Definitelly Tori was way better than Ashlinn and Alora Rose, but maybe they choose Alora because of her look, they already have Dani and Jessica (that are almost same Tori's look), and also because Alora was a Rockett (that means prestige for DCC).
Yea I really don’t understand how she didn’t make it but alora rose did...I don’t know I’m just not a big fan of alora...I loved tori though! One of my faves.
I believe they said they cut Ashlinn not because of her dancing but because she isnt polished enough and her media skills werent up to par

I love Phil! My favorite was when he made a cameo in Jackie Bob's solo. I'm especially happy to see Jada & Claire make it, they were my favorite rookies
This was a tough year for the vets.😓😞 The Rookies were so good. They just got out danced.
I saw this video multiple times and I cried by watching. Congratulations to the cheerleaders that made it to the 2020 team. But the season made it difficult because of corona, so stay safe out there and remember the only way we are going to fight this is if we think as we!

Armani - the girl who was told by a dance teacher she'd never make it - made it. She's definitely the one to watch! I can totally see her on point and a leader

I am excited about some of the new team members (especially Armani and Jada), but something about this episode/announcement just felt so anticlimactic.
These training camp was shorter because of covid, but for the next episodes please show us most of the girls in the dance part: solos, routines, coreographys, etc.

@@mckaylaschrum1264 I agree. Lily looked stiff in her routines and Hannah kept missing her marks. With Brennan she was recovering from covid and was not up to par. The first time Judy and Kelly talked to her they told her they thought she should get her strength back and come back next year.
I agree. I rooted for Lily even though she was the underdog. Yes, I agree she was stiff, but she definitely had the spirit and gave it her all. Meredith was ONE mistake after the other. I think it was right for them to cut her in fact she shouldn't have made the team in the first place. I have come to love Lily because I could tell she had dedication.

Armani's previous hair was indeed cute, but Texas humidity is no friend to black women's hair. I'm sure she struggled to keep it presentable during camp. I don't mind the make over. I understand the reasoning.

I love that Kelli, Judy sent out the dance videos to practice prior to training camp.... I get why.
I think they should continue to. It really gives them time for enhancing the girls that "have it" and make a more competitive squad.
I wish they showed makeovers-- and, IMO, I loved Armani's hair prior. She's fine now, but her short hair was awesome as it was.
Great for all the rookies that made the team! But it wasn't a sorprise, was pretty obvius that they gonna made it, and the vets too!

this was such a rushed season.
i wasn't excepting Alora rose to make the team tbh. she appeared so confident in her audition, and was a letdown. to be fair, the dancers were so good this and such a boring season, they needed someone to make mistake to make this season somewhat watchable.
Alora rose is actually an amazing dancer! This is a reality tv show so they made her look bad! They couldve made everyone look that bad with a little bit of editing!
I have always been a SF 49er fan and love to watch the Gold Rush cheer. However, since watching the DCC’s Making the Team for 4 years, I can say I’m now a fan of the Cowboys and DCC. Sorry 49ers!

I don't know how I feel about Armani's makeover. Loved her with short hair. I wish they just gave her some extension to thicken it up a bit. Her previous style made her look different with some spunk, now she looks like everyone else. Love her still though!

I'm wondering how this years rookies will do if we have a traditional training camp the next time. Did they even have to do the jump split? It would be a whole new thing for them. Can't wait to see.
@@traceynaples7572 they didn’t do the jump split since they cheered on the touchdown decks. But yeah I wonder too. I wouldn’t be surprised if they do the bubble again. But we will see.

you obviously have no idea how difficult it is to take care of natural hair while dancing under that texas heat everyday. Wigs are protective styles, her hair is growing even more under that.
