After discovering TTB nearly 6 years ago, and after seeing them three times in London, once in Berlin, and once in Glasgow, oh to see them in my city Edinburgh, they never let me down, 🏴 ♥
i heard the studio version before any other arrangement and boy can i say that theirs nothing like live music, the esoteric music such as this, with the calm beginning of the solo ending in a cry of self love, that has me envisioning a careful and quiet walk through the city turned into a joyful dance across the streets....really puts into perspective "dance like nobody's watching"
At 60 years old and I’ve really just come across this soul satisfying band of magical sound I am truly blessed I can only hope they come to the uk before I pop my clogs🤞🤞🤞

I had never considered Trucks as one of the best. Then I gave him a serious listen. He is a better slide player than Duane. More versatile and plays with more feel. He's right there Dave Gilmour and Mick Taylor in my book.

Could watch an endless amount of this band playing this tune... the spaciousness of the arrangement lets Trucks stretch out so much and it's always so satisfying
I've heard them play this live a few times and watched a bunch of others on UA-cam, but this version is my favorite! Such a smooth solo.
My taste in music runs the gamet of country to jazz to alternative and just plain rock n roll but I keep on gravitating to Takeshita trucks band and specifically the piece “midnight in Harlem “. She is one of my favorite parts of this video besides the song itself. She’s so beautiful swaying to the music, looking so cool and giving us life with that Trombone.
Took my daughter to see her first real concert with TTB and the first thing she said was, "Wow! They have a female trombonist! She kicks ass"

It's a masterpeice.
I like a lot of music. I drift from Floyd to nirvana and everything in between. This song in all its versions, to me, is musical perfection. Her voice, his guitar, the total accompaniment is just something of legend. Live, studio, it just doesn't matter. They kill it every single time. Bravo for creating something that is timeless and perfect.
Watching Derrick play with Susan's haunting vocals gives me chills. No wonder Joe plays with Beth Hart. Insane artistry. Thanks for all you do and what you give.

Love this song, Susan is simply wonderfull and Derek just outstanding he is the best slide man in my opinion in music. Then the band yes the band like a perfect fit puzzle. Everyone has His/Her part and does it so well. They are a perfect group of musicians. Don't ever give in folks.
Midnight in Harlem the song was written by one of the black guys in the band I can't remember his name but I will look for it

Love you all. I first heard the Allman Brothers when I was 12. I can hear them in Derek's slide. I see that as gravy on the cake because you are your own beautiful band. The music is so fine and there's this incredible legacy line as well.

Derek Trucks doesn't just play with soul, he IS soul. This band, my God! Beautiful, haunting song. The 2nd verse breaks my heart into a thousand pieces. Susan's in the zone (when it she not?) But I have to say...that bass player (who's phenomenal BTW) really looks like Scott Hall (Razor Ramon) to me.

This band are amazing. They are all superb musicians. Derek is an incredible guitarist. Slide guitarist supreme. Susan has a beautiful voice. The mixture of organ and brass is superb.
A theme that has it all, a voice full of feeling and energy and an effective guitarist accompanied by a group that adapts to the band's leaders.
I think my fav TTB song. "He was born to love me. I was born to be his fool." Christmas message there.

Derek was so disinterested in the show I saw that I got angry. Most of the time he stood facing the stage right and sometimes facing even backwards. Made no attempt to even look engaged. The horns were way too loud and disjointed also, they could lose all the horns and be better without them. The keyboards were uninspired and barely audible. I was highly disappointed. I will probably give them another chance, maybe they all had the flu.
