@@lynns4426 my parents are from Jim Crow south and I asked them if they knew anything about any massacres that occurred during their time and they said no. Not even word of mouth. Nobody ever said anything about it….not knowing what happened to our people will cause a false sense of security that will get a person hurt or killed….this has gone on way too long…we have to teach and become more informed about our people.
you all probably dont care at all but does anyone know of a way to get back into an instagram account..? I stupidly lost the login password. I would appreciate any help you can give me!
I recently took a trip to Fort Clatsop and Desperation Point in the PNW and York was barely mentioned at the museums. It led me to search for more info and I found this doc.
Thank you for sharing this story 🛐I look at this story showing the faithfulnessof God -45 has the same characteristics of William Clark, his Pride would not let him accept the fact that a black man (York) who saved his life (Clatk) deserved anything. Definition of 45’s black jobs, teach them that whites are supremely better. Three men William Clark, Washington Irving & Zenas Leonard left documented historstrial information, they never imagined Slavery would end. This is evident this is not a Christian Nation! Maybe we have some Christian values Nothing like that of Jesus Christ (Matthew 5, 6&7)💙🛐Praise God for helping us learn to be more like Jesus Christ ❗🛐💙☦️
Sacagawea was also given "short shrift" in Lewis & Clark's journals as well as ignored by Congress when the "Corp of Discovery" finally returned back east.
I am a relative of William clark and I want to believe York was a frontiersman like all others York was a wonderful man I wish I could contact his ancestors and get to know there family history 😀
Natives helped slaves in the underground railroad. There were black chiefs believe it or not. slaves have integrated in gene pool descendents to come with natives, Italians, Irish, and a few polish because all were depicted as inferior to the forces to be
My understanding is that he was a slave only in the America .... once they crossed over the Mississippi River, he was no longer a slave but a free man and was treated as such --- same with the 16 year old pregnant Native American woman who helped the expedition and even saved lives and journals; and the men even helped raised her son "Pomp"! It's actually a beautiful story of our roots and relationships between men/women/black/white/brown/children....
I am the Narrator on this project. This was such an honor to be part of this Journey!😇👊🏾☝🏾

My god as a Black American this shit is always magically overlooked.
It's sad how they just chose to erase an individual because they didn't want them to be significant!
And still TO THIS DAYYYYY!

My family are said to be descendants of York and have been trying to locate descendants of William Clark

Natives also were slave masters in Oklahoma
When did York get time to master several dialects of Native American tongues, If all he was was a man servant/slave?
Very good and thoroughly enjoyed .but now you should look at Stefan Milosevic s York !
From what I’ve read York was never freed. He was sold away from his family but who really knows

Not bad.
Ahh the biggest argument between Missouri and Oregon. Remember it started in Missouri it ended in Oregon. same with Lindbergh

Most of the other members are just as unknown as York - even though they are white.
Worst part .... Is that could happen ever
