FYI, I just double checked the Price and it's got a $250 discount in Best Buy: geni.us/Omen14-U9RTX4070 Which might change my mind about the price to performance ratio... let's hope the deal is still on when you're watching this!
*affiliate link
there was a deal in best buy around 6 weeks ago from now, for around $1699 . It was a great deal and purchased it
Just ordered the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 2023 with a RTX 4060 for $1200. I already have 3 desktop computers and a M1 MBA base model. Just needed a portable desktop replacement that has decent battery life and is relatively powerful.
i had a g14 2024 which i purchased it from best buy , i liked it so much however it get really hot in idle time and kept getting blue screen. so ultimately decided to return it .
I am planning to buy for college I want something light and powerful for some gaming as well, hat is better HP omen 14 or the g14?
@@nascar200011 definitely should reconsider it after they fix the bugs, they have some especially in the G16. It's truly a perfect laptop (minus losing replaceable ram). btw for the heat you can set custom fan curves, find your balance between noise and heat.
What do you do with so many machines ? 🤔real professionals have 1 work and 1 personal machine. Most people have only work laptop.
Decent battery life😂😂😂 23 g14 is E-WASTE!!💩
4:55 the reason you can’t change the bit depth to 10 bit is because you have refresh rate set to dynamic 60 or 120 when you choose 120 always as refresh rate it’ll let you change it I owned one and returned it but I learned that while I had it
Great tip! Good to know!
Why'd you return it?
@@ayanatpahud6850 I returned it primarily because it doesn’t get bright enough like
The tvs I use as a monitor which I’m used too it was way too dim in hdr and tvs have a contrast enhancer feature that really helps with brightness
I got used to MacBook M chips arm so it’s really hard to use a laptop that has to be plugged into outlet to be used to any extent and it was slow around desktop experience. Laggy all around maybe unified memory on Mac’s makes entire pc so snappy and fast but this was sluggish around general use. So i will be considering new snapdragon elite arm soc now with the newly announced co pilot pcs because this ain’t it for me imo
A question! You use a lot of the Pro Art Boards. On the Z790 WiFi, can you mix and match GPU's or are certain GPU's reqiured for dual cards (mostly for video editing). I have an RTX 3080 10gb and I want to pick up a 4080 Pro Art.
Curious if u tried turning on Smart Boost - the ROG g14 has that turned on by default - vs the Omen transcend has that turned off by default (which is explaining the low wattage) however if u turn on boost u should be able to get an extra 15 watts which will def change the results. Granted this is a less powerful laptop than the ROG G14 - the G14 is louder > don’t understand why ASUS went with the 3 fan cooling solution / the 3rd fan has an unbearable whiner noise + runs hot (not warm - like scorching hot)
15:12 In which way is the macbook pro screen better? I am sending back my asus zenbook pro 14 in favour of my new m3 max macbook pro but I was thinking I'm technically downgrading in the screen department considering oled back to ips.
The display panel in this omen laptop is very simmilar to the zenbook I'm returning.
LOL
the m3 has a mini-led it’s not ips
@@nikolayveselinov2444 mini led is a backlight technology, apples mini led displays are still IPS. It's an IPS LCD display with individually adressable backlight zones which are called mini led's.
He's biased towards Apple. Outside of brightness, the OLED screens on windows laptops are way better than the miniLED on the macbook pros.
@@fidelisitor8953 I guess it's a tradeoff. Apple has way higher brightness and no worry of burn in while the windows oleds have better motion clarity (they're both 120hz but the oled has a faster response time) and better blacks.
I don’t understand why you are worried about performance on battery considering that if cpu and gpu are hammered this battery can sustain only for 30 minutes at best…. This js mend to be used plugged and got the ability to move it from room to room. Please also leave the bullshit about the unified memory for apple…
The chassis flex or the trackpad stuttering in battery mode is not an issue for me, I will likely not buy it because it lacks an RJ-45 LAN port. While the CPU is good, I could also pick Raptor Lake, Arrow Lake or maybe AMD. I am unsure this resolution suits my needs. Between 4060, 4070 and 4080, it's a close call. But hey, it depends on the use case.
I know you can manually switch the 10 bit on through the Nvidia control panel, overall i think it's a solid choice but can't compete with the the big 16 laptops at the same price, Computex is next month and Asus showed they are going to announce a few new laptops and Proart is there as well. I still wanted to see the 3D version though of the current one.
Anyway love your videos as always🤩🤩🤩
😇👍
The idea of USB charging has advantages
10:13 the MacBooks cost twice as much as that computer😅
An equally priced macbook will perform better. The only reason to buy a windows laptop rn is for gaming or for niche software which does not run on apple silicon.
@@definingslawek4731 That niche software includes ALL 3d software that will either not work or won't work as good as on windows. No 3d modelling artist, game developer, architect or engineer will look twice at a macbook or a mac in general.
@@definingslawek4731 or Windows itself. I like Windows far more than MacOS
@@definingslawek4731 Nice try. A crapple laptop is good for web browsing and watching youtube videos.
@@definingslawek4731 not always, for video editing macbooks destroy everything, but in other workloads it's often not faster, just more efficient (more battery life but these new asus laptops are already close to hitting full day battery and have usb c charging so I take the sacrifice).
Man your outfits are always dope!!!! Got the edge over other channels! Well done!
Just landed from your face short to here 😅 it's been a while
:)
Aging like fine wine, anyway. Everything will be the same in a couple decades.
Another classic horror movie in the making. I've been screwed by HP enough thank you!
IDK what you’re talking about. I’ve had this laptop for 2 weeks and it crashes at least twice per day under gaming load…at which point I give up. I plan to return it.
@@RaffyChan-db9hj You misunderstood my comment. HP is a nightmare. I will NEVER own or use HP products ever again, under any circumstances.
Thank you my friend.
Nice
Mindblowing to me that intel created thunderbolt but to this day we have $2000 laptops with only 1 thunderbolt or even top of the line intel motherboards with just 1, meanwhile apple laptops have 3.
Yet crapple laptops can't handle or use 3 at once LOL
@@estiennetaylor1260 Wtf are you talking about? Yes they can. Each thunderbolt port has its own controller.
r u Rob Dyrdek?
almost

I had the chance to do an extended test of a Dell Inspiron with 16 inch display with that i9 ultra chip. 16 gigs of non-upgradeable ram. I hated the machine. Keyboard and trackpad sucked and the computer was not all that fast. Slower than a new i7. Overall I don't see the point of some of these computers. Needless to say my several year old XPS 16 is more impressive to use.
The TGP on this sucker is just bad. For the price, you're better off getting the G14 (which is what I own) 90w TGP vs Omen's 65w (only IF you remember to turn on the +15 boost in their crappy software). They are all using basically the same OLED panel, but Asus managed to get Gsync working on an OLED which is a must if you primarily game on these (this is my travel gaming laptop). If you want the best bang for your buck, last years 2023 G14 models will get you a higher TGP for a bit more performance (keeping in mind performance gains are pretty much pointless past 100w for the 4060/4070 models). IMO (not just because I own it but because I tried all the major 14" launches this year I could get my hands on in Best Buy), the G14 is just the better machine overall (build, performance, software -- GHelper is amazing at tuning this thing, and you can still use Armory crate if you need to tweak things like color profiles which I do).
you should try the 2024 G14, it's much better than this Omen and a real competitor to the macbooks (same quality, better GPU, but worse battery life)
Better GPU😂😂 🤡since when does a shitty 4070m ever compare to an m3max? Not even m2max class buddy.
Same quality 😂🤡you never hand held a 16inch or even a 14 inch macbook pro
@@PKperformanceEU You're being a pure clown if you think the Apple GPU is faster when the information is available everywhere that will M2/M3 laptops have amazing and efficient CPUs, their GPUs are still way behind. And less useful too, Much worse 3D software performance, not supporting games.....
As for the quality part, I'm comparing the 2024 Asus (which is much improved from the cheap feeling 2023) to the macbooks. I've tried the 14" macbook pro, and can say the difference is minimal at best, perhaps you should try new windows laptops instead of living in the past. Or even just watch any comparison before you speak and embarrass yourself.
@@houssamalucad753 just look up gfxbench or geekbench metal or fire up any apple silicon game or you can develop a game or you can just do video editing or name it anything you will see the truth.
Also i suggest you fire up SPEC2017 (i know you cant its a very expensive benchmark and the best)
You quickly find out m3max == 14900K ||m3max == 14900HX*130%
(multi core 100%load) :)))
Single core its nigh and day:)))
Have a good day cry out your soul fanboy
@@houssamalucad753 i use a zenbook pro 14 UX6404 which is same quality as the 2023 proart studiobook or 2024 zephyrus and i had an m1max 16inch and recently bought a m3max 16inch which i returned solely due to upcoming M4 series where i migth be okay with an M4pro 16inch.
The quality difference is sooo noticable.
I also had my firends blade 16 2024 in hand and its not even close
@@houssamalucad753so which laptop should I get MacBook m3 pro or g14 for productivity?
Comparing with higher tier CPU, unplugged is really not a good review.
Too bad THIS is the kind of content you went with - I really prefer some dishonest views with my afternoon coffee.
lol
Yup, you dun goofed.
I really want to buy a new laptop but I'm waiting a year to see what the snapdragon x elite looks like and what the support on windows on arm looks like. Please test the shit out of it when it releases on some proper laptops.
I don't want to buy a crappy x86 machine that then is on the way out as windows on arm becomes a thing.
Absolute biased review, blud compares the Asus with an HX processor to a mobile CPU? Ofc M-silicon is faster because it's not an acient 7nm design... literally useless comparision.
Further it runs 65W, which is low, yes, but makes sense to have a longer batterylife
Hayychhpee
The omens design sucks. Legion has it down with everything out the back
HP don't know how to make usable printer so why we buy there laptop
🤣 That's my kind of question. 🤣
😂😂🤣
$2000 and no upgradable ram anymore? Better have 64gb minimum , killer screen brightness, Hz, and resolution… doubtful
I expected a more in-depth review with more details
Use different software and compare
For now, this was a basic and simple review
