The exercise Bird-Dog is super helpful to make the pain go away. Additionally, exhailing, oulling a belt tight around the ribs, then breathing in against the restricted rib cage works very quickly.

I’ve had fewer and less severe hugs since I started daily Baclofen. My body had a difficult time tolerating it. It took months to be able to titrate up to a clinical dose. The longer I’m on it, the less side effects I experience that seem to be attributable to Baclofen. It has increased the MS fatigue, which I hate and no one wants to hear. But this negative side effect has had less impact on my life as I’ve continued to take it.

Can you do an education video about the symptoms of MS hug and how it feels? I feel I do get it but my neurologist doesn't think I do because I don't express text book like symptoms 😢

My husband had the ms hug for several years. I used a mixture of essentials oils and put it in a roller bottle. If he put it on as soon as it started, it would only last a short while. Many times he would wake in the middle of the night and those were slow to resolve. Once he started on Ocrevus they disappeared-isn’t that interesting??

I can't find a link to the baclofen side effects. I'm pretty sure you have a video because you are so thorough.

Any tips for nausea associated with EDS?

    • @SandiTink

I use a few things for persistent nausea. I’ve come to these as a patient and it is not medical advice, but I hope this helps.
The easiest is peppermint tea (not mixed with any other tea) with honey. When I don’t have access to that, I use peppermint or ginger hard candy. It has to contain the real thing not just be flavored. Some ginger ales work, too, but the most effective one for me has been removed from the market.
The sublingual form of Ondansetron works well. But it requires a prescription and doesn’t work prophylactically. It can be purchased for a reasonable price even without insurance (e.g., using a Good Rx card).
By far, the most helpful for me is cannabis taken in a tincture daily. It’s effective for both prevention and urgent treatment. I find hemp products not at all effective, but others have told me that they work for them. I have to use a tincture extracted from cannabis sativa or indica. For me, what matters is that the preparation is not butane extracted and is made using the whole plant. CBD helps me during the day and THC at night. I’ve found that a 1:1 tincture also helps reduce spasticity. There’s a drug, in Europe, for augmenting the efficacy of drugs used for spasticity. The name is Sativex. It’s 1:1.
