  • They’re mighty giants of whitened iron
    piercing the quiescent night
with glowing eyes and hearts of fire
    wild so they run.
With muscle tensed as coiling springs
    desperate to unwind
    pulling pounding souls outstretched
    wild so they run.
With spirits fluent in lucent movement
    Flowing through the dawn
    Rolling onward with rein unconquered
    Wild so they run
With beating hooves as a thousand drums
    razing the dampened sand
as leaping foam of ocean plumes
With breath ablaze to part the haze
    Charging on the mist
As windy tides recede and rise
    Wild so they run
With manes and tails as boiling clouds
    whipping in their wake
of nostrils flared and snorted glares
    wild so they run.
With minds in motion as swelling ocean
The life form of the storm
Like rolling rain on the coastal plain
    Wild so they run
With ears that hear to frontier
They bear down upon the border
    Closing distance in coursing persistence
    Wild so they run
    With tempo rolling and unloading
    Exploding past the limit
Toward horizons bend: the womb of wind
    Wild so they run
They’re warring lords of tempest storms
    racing ‘cross the land
    charging streaks of thunder breaks
    wild so they run.
And in their wake the the grasses shake
    Doffing their loosened seeds
On the que vive they mount the breeze
    Wild so they leave
Out on the distant Mountain View
    where green grows Into blue
And light refuses to cut through
    Wild so they stand
Where stars stake out the night
    And mythology flares into sight
These the acolytes for greek playwrights
    Wild so they sing
