    Good little set up my only concern is as the phone rotates the wire from microphone to the phone itself seek very short which would restrict the gimbals movements

    Thanks for this! I just received the OM5 and was disappointed to find there isn't enough room to use the iphone Rode mic. Your solution will allow me to connect the Rode wireless receiver once I get the Ulanzi coldshoe and trs to trrs cable. It's always something, right?

      There is always something:). How are you finding the om5

      @@LiquidErf The 1st issue of getting good sound is hopefully resolved and it will take awhile to learn everything. As long as there is a work around I'll be fine. I do a lot of cycle touring but want the OM5 for hiking and walking around places that I'm traveling. It's small enough to carry in a fanny pack. I've tried a few gimbals in the past and they were all too finicky, heavier, harder to set up and using them became a big enough chore they quickly ended up in a drawer never to be used again. I am hoping this gimbal will solve those issues. Stay tuned!

      Did the gimbal get put in a drawer? I’m considering buying one for travel.

    Hello! I own a DJI om 4, and also a ulanzi VL49. I
    was wondering how can I achieve the light from
    the ulanzi to come from top as possible instead
    from below? I can see your light coming from
    bottom as well. It's any way to achieve the light
    from a little bit up? Thanks!

      Not that I know, there are extension brackets but it would make the light very unstable.

    Great video thanks Erf, all subscribed and liked now! I asked a question on your other video and you recommended this one, thanks. Is this mic ok to use if you are interviewing someone and standing behind the camera if it's facing forward? I've followed the link but not sure if that mount comes with it now.

      Hi again, so this mic is directional - must be pointed in the direction of speech, you’ll need an omni directional mic. Lavalier (lapel) mics are omnidirectional like the rode lavalier go, or wireless go which comes with two mics for a phone. but it very much depends on budget. There are lots of great mics from budget to professional. The difficulty is having two mics - one for interviewer and one for interviewee. Check out the wireless go or search google for two mics attached to phone. All the best,

      @@LiquidErf I decided on the Rode Video Go directional in the end. Together with a deadcat, DJI OM4, SC7 cable, Ulanzi mount, and Godex LED64 all for my iPhone XR so hopefully i'll be making some decent short films soon with the aid of your instructional videos.....when i unpack it all anyway!

    How is the noise if any when the gimbal is turning or does the cable get caught at all?

    • @LiquidErf
      @LiquidErf  3 роки тому +1

      there are occasions when the cable catches and will make a little noise so you have to be a bit careful, but the shots i'm taking with a microphone don't include much movement most of the time.

    How does it work in portrait?

    • @LiquidErf
      @LiquidErf  3 роки тому

      no difference really to landscape, although i rarely shoot in portrait.
