It's so easy for me to connect the Shield (2017) to the network, let alone edit files on the connected hard drive.
Without tinkering and extra tools, simply done with on-board agents.

Good info about the shield on you channel. Did you had a chance to test the gamestream on mobile graphic cards ? or on quadro cards mobile or desktop (officially they are not supported but I've read some forum posts that it can be done). I'm interested more as a remote desktop without lag to extend the capabilities of the shield and the big tv it is connected , to have a access to a full windows pc through this gamestream.

Thanks for this. Just a reminder: Technically, having your router assign the same IP to a client device all the time is DHCP Reservation. Static IP is configured on the client device itself (though vendors conflate these terms regularly).

I have already this setup since i bought my Shield pro 2019 a year ago. The only difference being i didnt disabled the sleep mode, having no problem with it whatsoever. I used an external HDD and have a plex media server running.
Sadly my write speeds from pc to Shield (wired connection) only go to a maximum of 50/60 Mb/s. Even with SMB 3 enabled.

Can all the shields in a house access the nas drive? For instance.csn you use tivimate and record tv frok any of the shields and watch the rrcordings from any of the shields?
I’ve been thinking about this and I have my doubts but is doable. First, if you’re going to make a nas like device you might as well use nas drives since it’s going to stay on most of the time, second, I’m wondering if those hard drive USB enclosures with 2-5 bays and RAID would be accepted by the shield
hi i am able to get 4k video from shield connected directly to projector .but when connected to hdmi input of 4k av preprocesssor i am having flickering display,though the cables are capable and receiver is capable and projector is capable.what could be the problem?is internet speed the problem or hdcp problem in nvideashield.

So when I try and plug two external hhd's into this to use as a Plex Server, they seem to cancel each other out and it will only let one connect at a time. Any ideas why this is?

Hello Ive a synolygy Ds7.0 NAS connected through a sw (LAN) to a nvidia shield.
after having accessed the srv1 it shows the list of shared folders while saying its calculating each available space ... some time after I get a time out and the shared content is displayed with 0 bytes and therefore nothing is seen inside any of this shared. Any ideas on what could be the issue??? thought this was the rollsroyce of media players.... thanks

💕💕Great Video as always! I was wondering if you had a video out for 2 or 3 -multiple external 1 or 2 tb hard drives attached to 2015 shield pro. I have a 2015 Shield pro, I know I have 500 storage and it works great but I want to separate movies and music. I want to add on 2 or 3 1tb external hardrives because frankly that's what I have and all I can afford to add one at a time to store my movies and music on. Is there a specific hub that will run more than one small 1 or 2 tb external hard drives? If so Can you please add a specific link to it, I use Amazon.
I currently have a couple of 1Tb seagate ext. drives. I want to add as portable storage, if possible for what I want to do. Do you know if seagates are compatable or not? I only want to use one port preferable on a hub to connect at least 2 sm ext hard drives. If that makes sense. AND IF that is possible is there a way to open those drives up locally so others can access it? I am on a internet cap so wanting to allow other household members to watch locally to cut streaming down. I do not have a working oc so that's out.
So in a nutshell, I want to add 2 or 3 sm 1tb external hard drives setup as portable storage (if possible) using a "hub" and offer local access to share in house, if possible if not that's fine to. I hope that makes sense. LOVE your Videos they are very clear to understand. Thanks for all you do.

@@Triple_M I am following the exact steps you have mentioned in your video. Shield has external hard drive connected. Shield is connected to ethernet router and then I am using Windows 10 Wifi to connect to the shield storage. But when I am pushing the files, I am getting very low transfer speeds. I am not able to understand what do you mean by driver here?

@@charmingarpit1982 Then evidently, the transfer speed is limited by your Wifi network (adapter and router). Connect a PC over a wired 1Gbit Ethernet (LAN) port and router, and try again.

I have think of a way to make that video...lol the problem is that everyone has a different router in their house, so showing to reserve IP on my router wouldn't be helpful for a lot of people...

My shield when turning off control's my tv when I turn my tv back on it's keeps turning my shield back on had to disconnect that device had no control over my tv any suggestions?
Turn off CEC on both your Shield *and* your TV. That should stop that.

The shield cone is now named toilet paper tube shield ! What a useless design it is !
