I was a little bit skeptical since I felt that just about everyone was throwing around the term 'masterpiece' related to it. But it deserves it.
I agree on what you said about Hereditary. I actually thought it was the other way around: they explained too much or at least: explained it too much in a straight-forward sense. There were these very unsubtle moments where they just bombarded you with exposition and the ending is the best example of that.
the ending of hereditary isn’t confusing, it’s rushed and messy and no matter how much sense it makes or doesn’t make it feels like they forgot they had to end the movie and then let their 12yo finish it, it almost feels like a love letter to the exorcist. And the Haunting of Hill House was essentially the bold and the Beautiful with ghosts, incredibly predictable storyline with the same horror house tropes without adding any new or interesting commentary or perspective. Also if you rely on jump scares you can’t expect them to have the longevity to keep you on edge through a whole series.
That show is a masterpiece by definition, Some of the things they have done there, in terms of telling the story and filming... I don't know, I don't think I've ever seen anything like that. What I personally loved about the horror movies from this year, is that I feel the genre is starting to re-define itself. Before this year horror was so limited to like, "slasher, supernatural, found footage, etc." but now the genre is mixing with other genres like drama and I personally love that. Hereditary for example, I'm glad that it was on your favorites list because it was definitely my favorite of the year. Ari Aster talks about how he wanted it to be like a horror movie mixed with a family drama, and how he wanted the horror elements to seem like a manifestation of the family's grief. I think he definitely achieved that. And Cam was another movie I was really impressed with because it exploited the horror of a real life situation and featured an actually progressive and unique protagonist. Overall I just love the way horror this year seemed to mix with real life situations and fears and I hope we get more movies like it in 2019.
That was one movie this year we got slenderman the nun the cloverfield paradox it’s just as bad as every other year with a few good ones sprinkled in between
The protagonist in cam was unbelievable, like her reactions to things were just dumb and the movie has quite a huge plot hole. I dont see how its a horror movie.
Just finished watched "The haunting hill house". I'll say it right now: One of the best shows I've ever seen, in all aspects (Acting, writing, directing, cinematography, delivery of the message and the impact of the message itself). The show holds true to each and everyone of us and it was portrayed in such a way, that you are drawn to understand it while being mesmerized by what you're watching. Hand down, I place it as high as Band of Brothers (Despite the difference in importance of course). Which to me, makes it a timeless masterpiece without any competition.
Not a horror movie but I thought summer of 84 is a really good movie. It’s a mystery/drama movie but it’s about a boy trying to prove his neighbor is a serial killer and I thought it was pretty well put together. I definitely recommend it.
I definitely agree with you that A Quiet Place isn't really a true horror (in my opinion). I think the atmosphere of the story does make you feel on edge but not in the same kind of way a horror might. I think the movie was hyped up for me by people so I went in expecting a great horror film and was just kind of disappointed. Overall I do still think its a good movie just not something I'd call horror. The last shot of the movie is framed and what happens in it for some reason made all of my friends kind of laugh which also made it feel even less like a horror.
It was a movie made for theaters, however, because it was literally the only movie this year where even annoying teenagers were afraid to make a sound or flip open their phones. Success!
At first, I didn’t really like chilling adventures of Sabrina but as I watched more and got out of my hill house obsession, it became more appealing to me. I feel like the first few episodes were really rushed and that threw me off but then it got back on track and just became an entertaining tv thriller. I also really enjoyed the Christmas special and I’m exited for part 2
I didn’t really like the ending compared to the buildup in the rest of the movie. It was honestly kind of a let down. The first 3/4 of 5he movie was awesome, the ending...ok
Welcome back! My list - Best: The Haunting Of Hill House Suspiria Hereditary The House That Jack Built Halloween Terrifier (Sorry, loved it) Worst: Slenderman Insidious: The Last Key (Sorry, again!) The Nun Overlord
I wished that they would have just done season 2 of Scream Queens at a Summer Camp instead of AHS. I hated the 2nd season of Scream Queens with the hospital...
Cam was such a good movie, an instant cult classic to me. Actually one of my faves of all time now. The more I researched deepfake technology and how real it is, the more scary and disturbing the movie became to me.
Caitlin - I personally didnt like it. Didnt really get to see the main character grow which would've been more interesting than her just being the same as she was before the events of the movie. That made it feel like the "horror" wasn't really effective as she quite literally didnt seem bothered by anything at the end. I also wish a movie could nail some sort of realism when it comes to the internet. I heard the movie Searching nailed it recently but Cam just felt like an edgy fantasy to me. It couldve been much more effective with just a little more realism. Really just wasn't for me though and my opinion is only worth so much. But I also heard some camgirls say it was a pretty shitty representation of all sides of that market. So that kinda made it feel extra icky to me lol
Mother! was really disturbing. Completely agreed with you. Aronofsky was pretty extreme this time. I really enjoy avant-garde movies like The holy mountain and Santa Sangre from Jodorowsky but still I was not able to digest Mother! For me the symbolisms were a total miss.
You should definatley watch the movie ‘Mandy’! I just saw it a couple of weeks ago and my mind is blown! The story is pretty simple, but the atmosphere, music, colors are just stunning. Normally I’m not a fan of Nicolas Cage, but he is just amazingly different in this movie. If you like the mix of cult, artsy, blood, great images, beautiful full music, crazy stuff, and a bit of evil dead, you are gonna LOVE this movie! 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
I loved Halloween for the nostalgia aspect of Jamie Lee Curtis, and seriously the gotcha moment! I really liked the first 3 eps of Sabrina but I got stuck after that. I think I enjoyed the side characters more.
Tbh Asylum was the best season of AHS imo. I saw The Possession Of Hannah Grace and didn’t understand why Hannah didn’t kill the main character. Also I found it distracting that she looked like a possessed Taylor Swift (nothing against Taylor, she’s pretty cool. Just a random observation I got from the movie. Haha)
Suspiria... that's what I want when I go to see a movie. Effin masterpiece. And the fact that half the people walked out of the theater was even more pleasing... because those are the movies that get you in the guts, similar as Nymphomaniac or The Witch.
omg I completely agree with you on the nun review and the possession of Hanna grace (so bad) everything you said is exactly what my mom said while watching the movie LOL
I watched Haunting of Hill House three times😂I enjoyed the character development and how close you got to become with the family - it’s just everything I needed in a horror show!
I think Terrifier had a pretty generic and boring storyline. It was an alright movie and I’d watch it again but they could’ve tried harder to make the storyline a little more interesting. I like Art the clown though, he’s one of the scariest clowns there is, a lot scarier than pennywise
2:57 He already wanted to make a spinoff when Coven was still airing, but then decided not to. If the witches come back, I really hope he does a spinoff, because both seasons the witches had sucked to high heaven, and Coven actually is the reason why the show went down the drain, as faults that were inventively patched in the previous two seasons became evident and some fans were still 'Ooo, bitchy witches, so cool'., so Murphy saw no reason to correct course, and well, here we are.
i was wondering if i would ever hear anyone else talk about Apostle this year and im so happy you did because that movie was hoghly disturbing and i loved it to pieces.
A Quiet Place I just recently watched and just the fact that they had to remain quiet for the majority of the film gave a whole new meaning to scary. Hereditary I haven't seen personally but I hope I get to. Yeah, the Nun was a huge let down based on what the trailer provided.
BrookeInProgress it’s from the same writers as riverdale so it’s cheesy and has appeal in the storyline but has terrible writing and character development
I agree with this list. Glad to hear some love for Suspiria and glad to see the Nun gets its deserved 'worst movie' title. People praise it for its atmosphere, which I agree with, but they never really do anything with it. And then there's Frenchie, who's just a character that belongs in a comedy movie, but somehow ended in supposedly the 'darkest' chapter of the Conjuring series.
Watch the original Suspiria! , the moody atmosphere In the Intro/airport alone Is amazing ( especially Goblin's soundtrack combined with some of the set-pieces ). Dario Argento always had good atmosphere imo , despite the plot not being the strongest which was typical of Italian horror.
my favourite of this year was also suspiria! but i disagree on mother! not being done /well/ but that’s just me. it was my favourite of last year nd i do agree that it was made somewhat similar with sort of slow building but then extremely gruesome endings. both incredible films imo! i can’t wait to see suspiria again when it is released in dvd.
other favorites: weirdly enough, and i’m probably in the minority here but unfriended: dark web. i’m not sure you’ve seen it but it’s way better than the first nd actually enjoyable, plus the acting is surprisingly good? it’s rlly well done! also: mayhem, if it counts as horror. the worst for me, which i can’t consider necessarily worse bc i don’t think they’re bad just, dissapointing? heriditary + a quiet place. i had a lot of expectations and both didn’t live up to them. i’m not sure what comes out in 2019 except from glass and a new film from the director of get out, but i hope horror is better bc to me this year it was pretty underwhelming. also, not horror but pretty disturbing nd sorta thriller-esque: you were never really here. if you haven’t seen it i would recommend a 100%. definitely my favourite film of the entire year alongside suspiria.
I LOVED Mother!. I can understand why it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea but it was definitely my kind of thing. Mother! Is one of those movies you can watch over and over again and find new meaning in every scene.
hate to be that person but i actually strongly dislike mother! and pretty much darren arronofky in general, he seems to get off on plots surrounding the violent destruction of women and to me it just feels pretentiously done? that said, i know lots of people who say 'requiem for a dream' is essential viewing, so agree to disagree
I love the haunting of hill house because it wasn’t about jump Scares which sooo many movies do now. It had that slow creep up on you kind of scare and so few horror pieces do this now. The only notable recents I can think of is insidious. And the dream door was a really good show too, genuinely frightening 😊
Exactly. I loved hauting hill. The only jump scare I remember was the car scene wich was truly scary because since it didnt have any jump scares before it was totally unexpected and random. Hereditary was a movie with no jump scares and probably the best I saw this year.
YES, I really enjoyed Apostle!!! After what’s actually going on is revealed it wasn’t really scary for me anymore but that’s when all the great gore kicks in which is horrifying in its own right so it doesn’t really matter. It had a really nice atmosphere and that one moment when the blood drips between the floor boards really freaked me out
Thank you for talking me directly INTO seeing "Terrifier." I just spent the past hour and a half jumping, grabbing my chair cushion, freaking out, and gaping in awe at one of the most satisfying gorefests I've seen in decades. Clowns don't scare me ... Art the Clown, however, scared the shit out of me. The movie's pacing was blister-fast, the suspense exemplary, the special effects incredible (and, thank god, practical), and every time my brain said, "There's no way they're really going to show--" then, well, they showed it. For a spookshow-gore-shock horror film, I can't really think of a better ride. Thanks for the recommendation.
Best. Horror. Film. In. Years. People who don't like it, probably don't like seeing the naked girl sawed in half. It was my favorite part of the film. It represents everything the liberal weaklings hate...therefore, I LOVE IT!!!!! Push the limit of art.
honestly the only horror movies i bothered seeing this year were a quiet place and halloween. and you're right about a quiet place - it's good, but it's more suspense & drama than horror.
I don’t know why but I liked terrifier. It is what is it, a cheesy low budget horror movie but I think the actor who played the role of the clown was really good and genuinely creepy
Sabrina is ok but it’s weird that the best bits of the show are the parts where Sabrina isn’t in them lol. In fact by the end of the season you kinda don’t like Sabrina as a person, I actually found myself rooting against her.
If you ever get the chance to do a comparison on both the original and new suspiria movies it would be great to see your take on it. Glad to see you back on this channel!
@Noname I also watched it in German like a 4 months ago so I remember it pretty well. I liked the ending but still have question as to why it all began :) I'm waiting and hope the second season has what first season was missing. Some ppl compare it to Stranger Things which i like but sort of like Dark more...
Andrea Velez Suspiria is incredible. It’s absolutely my favorite movie (not even just horror) of the year. It’s really hit-or-miss for some people though.
. Ranking Best Horror of 2018: 1) Hereditary 2) The Haunting of Hill House 3) A Quiet Place 4) The House That Jack Builts 5) Halloween . Ranking Worst Horror of 2018: 1) Truth of Dare 2) The Open House 3) Bird Box 4) The Strangers: Prey at Night 5) Insidious: The Last Key
Agree with you on several of these and some I haven't seen that I want to see now (Apostle, etc.) and I agree...Sabrina is just NOT my style either LOL
Listen, I watched the terrifier only because I had company and they wanted to watch it. I used to be uncomfortable around clowns, but now I am petrified of clowns because of this movie. Like this fucked me up so hard I lost sleep, I had to have a night light, and in October I do a “Halloween/Horror/etc” 31-day-movie-a-day challenge, after I could only do kids movies because I was too scared to watch any other horror movies. And this movie was day 5. Like this FUCKED ME UP in such a bad way, just eugh
Totally agree on The Haunting of Hill House. It was a great family story, and the slow burn made the scares so much more effective. I generally find jump scares really cheap, but the one real jump scare in the show was SO memorable and well placed. Also, make sure you see the original Suspiria, on the big screen if you can find a special showing near you. That's how I saw it, and it was amazing. Argento was a fucking genius filmmaker.
Yay!! I’m so excited for this! And damn you look great!! But lol I find it funny on how opposite our views on AHS Apocalypse but that’s coming from a Coven Stan lol
Summer of `84 may not be horror but it was definitely my favorite overall. Its like a crossover of a non-supernatural Stranger Things and the Goonies? It`s hard to pin down but the Directors trust the audience enough to infer to a point and I love that relationship. The acting is amazing and the comedy is written well enough to break apart the suspense, while still feeling natural. Personally, I love Eats and you should definitely watch it!
if you liked the show, you should read the book!! imo it's way more creepy/unsettling but the adaptation was done so well, they did great at casting penn as joe
yes i've meaning to check it out! yeah i think he did an amazing job! the character was written very well too. also i think shay mitchell did fine too, but i guess she was playing a bitchier version of herself maybe?. without spoiling anything here, did you like the ending?
@@sohogrunge i did actually like it! (spoiler-ish?) the book actually ends differently but considering the show is already renewed for a second season, i can see why they chose that ending. it'd be interesting to see where they go with the new story line tho :-)
There is a part in Hereditary where she reads a part in a book, if "you" have trouble understanding the movie & or the end, I would suggest a pause then & read it. Kinda explains everything quite clearly really :)
Okay, I have things to say... First off, Shudder. As much as I question my purchase of Netflix every month, I find myself wondering why I only have to pay $5 per month for @Shudder since it's worth at least as much as Netflix IMO, probably 10 times more really... Also, sponsored by Shudder but no mention of Mandy? I admittedly didn't watch a ton of new horror this year, and I know Mandy has been very divisive, very much love it or hate it... but I was surprised that it wasn't on one of your lists. I have to say, I somewhat envy you that you didn't see the original Suspiria before the remake. I love the original so much (which happens a lot for me with '70s and '80s horror since that is when I grew up) that it is impossible for me to not go into a movie like that without expectations. The original is a masterpiece IMO so the remake was never going to live up to that for me. I definitely didn't like it as much as you did, but I did like it. I am so over the franchise horror that keeps coming back for more every year, aka The Conjuring, etc... They are okay, I just wish they would give more attention to original stuff. AHS - SO all done with this show. More Coven witches? Please no... I very much appreciate that you appreciate the slow burn... I think people miss out on some amazing stories because they all just want non-stop action from their entertainment. That's okay I guess, but it's good to know that our tastes align in that way (one reason why I watch you). I am a bad monkey and NEED to watch The Haunting of Hill House. I've heard nothing but praise and it's been on my radar forever, but I haven't sat down and taken the plunge yet... this reminded me that I should! Having a teenager in the house I am subjected to things like Sabrina on the regular... much eye rolling happens, much to the chagrin of children. ;-) Nice video, hope you do more... heehee :D
I loved suspiria until the ritual scene. That was soooooooo try hard and just cringey. It totally ruined the movie for me, which sucks because it was so good up until that point. I feel like when a horror movie shows the force/face of the unknown it takes away the horror. Rosemarys baby comes to mind. If they showed the baby it probably wouldn’t be as scary as it was. If suspiria had left the ritual and the mother up to the imagination it would have been so much more effective, in my opinion. That scene was just a travesty and I got up and left.
Terrifier was hecking awesome. An demonic clown that comes back every Halloween? How cool is that?? I love clowns sorry haha. Art the clown has to be the most horrifying clown to ever exist in the movie universe
Wow I'm so glad you and I share the same opinion on Apocalypse, a lot of people loved it for some reason???? It fell apart after episode four and the finale was seen from a mile away it was SO predictable, the news of "more witches" in the future disappointed me as well. It's complete fan service
Good film, try explaining the plot to someone right after seeing it. I did...and I was looked at like like I was taking whatever drug they were taking in that film.
I didn't like Terrifier, the character was disturbing and well put together. The part where he is silent at the cafe place staring at the girls was so uncomfortable I was impressed, but I think it went down hill. I just hated the acting and slasher aspect because that's not my thing.

I wished that they would have just done season 2 of Scream Queens at a Summer Camp instead of AHS. I hated the 2nd season of Scream Queens with the hospital...
APOSTLE REALLY IS A GEM!!! I LOVE HISTORICAL HORROR MOVIES!
Cam was such a good movie, an instant cult classic to me. Actually one of my faves of all time now. The more I researched deepfake technology and how real it is, the more scary and disturbing the movie became to me.
It was different and good and different than just stolen identity. Makes me think whats really real out there..
Watched it today, its great and fucked up in quite a few different ways!
it was cute and entertaining
O completely agree! I'll be doing a review on my channel
Terrifier was so Gory it made House of a Thousand Corpses look like a PG13 movie.
Open House was so disappointing it literally makes me SO ANGRY
If you haven't seen it, Better Watch Out is a great Shudder gem. I know it didn't come out in 2018, but I love it so much.
Thank you for loving Cam!
You should watch the original Suspiria. The lighting, set design, and soundtrack is incredible. You should watch it just because of that.
Nothing on Castle Rock? I thought it was phenomenal but they didn't stick the landing.
I was quite surprised that Sara, and other commenters (except one other) didn't mention it. Where's all the Stephen King fans at?
Mother! was really disturbing.
Haha)
Celluloid Queer because she wanted to possess the main character
Suspiria was amazing, I love the original as well, it’s the most beautiful horror movie I’ve ever seen
Suspiria... that's what I want when I go to see a movie.
So happy to see you loved Suspiria, it’s my fave horror of the last decade. Would be awesome to see you do a full retrospective review one day!
The ahs finale felt like a cop out to me, they could’ve done so much but instead they just went “oh hey none of this happened lol”
Cam isnt even scary or horror but its reallllyy goood
I watched Haunting of Hill House three times😂I enjoyed the character development and how close you got to become with the family - it’s just everything I needed in a horror show!
I think Terrifier had a pretty generic and boring storyline. It was an alright movie and I’d watch it again but they could’ve tried harder to make the storyline a little more interesting. I like Art the clown though, he’s one of the scariest clowns there is, a lot scarier than pennywise
Anonymous Exactly how I felt. There was nothing ground breaking about it but Art was a great character and definitely creeped me out.
Anonymous true
Anonymous I think it’s his brutality. Kinda like Rob Zombie's Michael Myers vs John Carpenter's Michael
I know the movie wasn't good but that clown still gives me nightmares
Hahahhahahahahah its just brutal but not that good storyline I agree but that clown though it was so scary af like it will kill you in ur sleep
@Neely Hebert It was more of a laughter-free slasher 'satire' full of obnoxious sterotypes. It was apinful to sit through.
Thank you for talking about Apostle because I LOVED that movie and it's so good that other people enjoyed it as well
i was wondering if i would ever hear anyone else talk about Apostle this year and im so happy you did because that movie was hoghly disturbing and i loved it to pieces.
Insidious the last key was so disappointing ESPECIALLY compared to the rest of the franchise
yes, I watched at the theatre and really wanted to walk out... I regret not walking out.
It was trash overall for sure.
Amber Elizabeth 1&2 are the best. then It went downhill from there.......
A Quiet Place I just recently watched and just the fact that they had to remain quiet for the majority of the film gave a whole new meaning to scary.
Hereditary I haven't seen personally but I hope I get to.
Yeah, the Nun was a huge let down based on what the trailer provided.
I tried and failed to watch Sabrina too! I just couldn’t get into it.
BrookeInProgress it’s from the same writers as riverdale so it’s cheesy and has appeal in the storyline but has terrible writing and character development
I hate the casting for Harvey. Ew.
Way too cheesy/corny and I felt the acting was bad. Shitty effects as well.
Finally a gal that's not obsessed with psychological horrors. Nice review.
Apostle, Hereditary, & Unsane were my favorite horror movies from 2018.
my favourite of this year was also suspiria! but i disagree on mother! not being done /well/ but that’s just me. it was my favourite of last year nd i do agree that it was made somewhat similar with sort of slow building but then extremely gruesome endings. both incredible films imo! i can’t wait to see suspiria again when it is released in dvd.
other favorites: weirdly enough, and i’m probably in the minority here but unfriended: dark web. i’m not sure you’ve seen it but it’s way better than the first nd actually enjoyable, plus the acting is surprisingly good? it’s rlly well done! also: mayhem, if it counts as horror. the worst for me, which i can’t consider necessarily worse bc i don’t think they’re bad just, dissapointing? heriditary + a quiet place. i had a lot of expectations and both didn’t live up to them. i’m not sure what comes out in 2019 except from glass and a new film from the director of get out, but i hope horror is better bc to me this year it was pretty underwhelming. also, not horror but pretty disturbing nd sorta thriller-esque: you were never really here. if you haven’t seen it i would recommend a 100%. definitely my favourite film of the entire year alongside suspiria.
I LOVED Mother!. I can understand why it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea but it was definitely my kind of thing. Mother! Is one of those movies you can watch over and over again and find new meaning in every scene.
I enjoyed Mother a lot! I especially loved its message :)
hate to be that person but i actually strongly dislike mother! and pretty much darren arronofky in general, he seems to get off on plots surrounding the violent destruction of women and to me it just feels pretentiously done? that said, i know lots of people who say 'requiem for a dream' is essential viewing, so agree to disagree
The best horror movie of 2018 is by far "Incident in a Ghostland" by Pascal Laugier
I was going to try Shudder but they only accept US viewers :(
Fernanda Pascoto i think that if you download nord VPN you can , i haven’t tried but maybe 🤷🏼♀️
rick jones really 😍 me too .. i’m gonnna try again
I'm in the UK and we have Shudder but the choice is so limited compared to the USA version I got rid of it. Such a shame!
ikr :(
What is the Shudder selection like for Canadian viewers?
I'm surprised Mandy didn't make the list. I thought it was one of the best horror movies of 2018.
Apostle was honestly one of my favorites. Such a surprise gem too
honestly the only horror movies i bothered seeing this year were a quiet place and halloween. and you're right about a quiet place - it's good, but it's more suspense & drama than horror.
0:00 - 0:02 Beautifully describes my "hellos".
I'm glad I'm not the only one that couldnt get into the chilling adventures of sabrina
When Shudder finally comes to New Zealand there will be much rejoicing.
I don’t know why but I liked terrifier. It is what is it, a cheesy low budget horror movie but I think the actor who played the role of the clown was really good and genuinely creepy
Hereditary was one of my favorites of the year. I actually loved the ending.
Sabrina is ok but it’s weird that the best bits of the show are the parts where Sabrina isn’t in them lol. In fact by the end of the season you kinda don’t like Sabrina as a person, I actually found myself rooting against her.
She becomes infuriating, I agree!
Sabrina is a lil bitch. I'mma still watch it tho. But.... she annoying. I love Prudence tho, it should be The Chilling Adventures of Prudence tbh 😂
trayas22 everyone is an asshole in that show and they use the line “pray to Satan” several times every episode. It’s only a good watch to make fun of
Haha same
They need to borrow some of Ryan Murphey's camp. It just comes across as flat.
Perfect review of Suspria, I felt the same way in the theater during the ending
If you ever get the chance to do a comparison on both the original and new suspiria movies it would be great to see your take on it. Glad to see you back on this channel!
Cam is definitely going to become a cult classic
Great list
I'm sold! Have to watch Suspira
And I liked Terrifier xD
Watch the series: Dark
@Noname I also watched it in German like a 4 months ago so I remember it pretty well. I liked the ending but still have question as to why it all began :) I'm waiting and hope the second season has what first season was missing. Some ppl compare it to Stranger Things which i like but sort of like Dark more...
Andrea Velez Suspiria is incredible. It’s absolutely my favorite movie (not even just horror) of the year. It’s really hit-or-miss for some people though.
LOVE Dark!
This is why I love you Sarah! Suspiria was definitely the best horror movie of the year. I saw it three times! ☺️
. Ranking Best Horror of 2018:

Cam is not a horror movie it's a drama/thriller
Apostle is one of my absolute favourites this year
Cam was brilliant
i watched cam for the first time last night i really enjoyed it
suspiria was fantastic!!! tied with halloween for my 2018 favorite
Agree with you on several of these and some I haven't seen that I want to see now (Apostle, etc.) and I agree...Sabrina is just NOT my style either LOL
I loved The Ritual too. Great list!
Totally agree about Shay Mitchell's acting and open house! I didn't watch any of the other "worst" movies - Great video as per :D
You're forgetting Slenderman and Truth or Dare for Worst Horror of 2018. Sorry, I meant all time *
Omg, I totally got severe anxiety from mother too !!! Such a wierd overwhelming feeling
But lol I find it funny on how opposite our views on AHS Apocalypse but that’s coming from a Coven Stan lol
hmmm mnm STAN GODWON
Haunting of Hill House - the camera spins became so exhausting, I totally lost interesting in the story. Totally agree with you on The Terror!
Thank you for bringing up Apostle! I loved that movie so much and it was my favorite horror movie this year.
Cam is good I recommend watching it . It’s on Netflix rn
My favorite was definitely Annihilation. I loved that movie. I also thought Hellfest was a lot of fun.
Love the channel. I can't go along with Suspiria, which was easily the worst 2018 movie I saw, though you're certainly not alone in loving it.
" The haunting of hill house " REIVEW!!!!!
Good review. Surprised you didn't mention 'Wish Upon', which would make both my best and worst of horror films this year. :)
have you seen the tv show You? it's with penn badgley (and shay mitchell lol). i liked it it's rly good!
if you liked the show, you should read the book!! imo it's way more creepy/unsettling but the adaptation was done so well, they did great at casting penn as joe
yes i've meaning to check it out! yeah i think he did an amazing job! the character was written very well too. also i think shay mitchell did fine too, but i guess she was playing a bitchier version of herself maybe?. without spoiling anything here, did you like the ending?
@@sohogrunge i did actually like it! (spoiler-ish?) the book actually ends differently but considering the show is already renewed for a second season, i can see why they chose that ending. it'd be interesting to see where they go with the new story line tho :-)
Can you do a while you’re watching review on High Tension. That movie is so so disturbing to me.
Having a teenager in the house I am subjected to things like Sabrina on the regular... much eye rolling happens, much to the chagrin of children. ;-)
Nice video, hope you do more... heehee :D
Paul Hurtado man we can’t get it Japan what a bummer
i cant believe slender man wasnt on either list. it was so awful, but that made it so great as a comedy
Have you seen Mandy? Now that's a bizarre horror movie!
BEST: A Quiet Place
HM:
Overlord
Halloween('18)
WORST: Slender Man
DHM:
Truth Or Dare
Hereditary
Annihilation
